I am also handling the mail now instead of wife.
And at least gloves for shopping, which is no more than once a week.

How are you doing now? I hope you get the care you need and that your daughter will also be looked after.
You can vent here, we all get it. Maybe we’re not in such dire circumstances as you, but it seems like we’re all in this together. No matter where we are, we’re all being faced with the new reality of isolation or quarantine.

Hang in there and keep in touch.:hug:

Hi. I’m much better today thank you. I took another opinion from my gp who knows my situation. Suggested to high risk for the hospital but she’s ringing me daily for a week to check in and if need be I can go in to her as emergancy and be seen.
I agree we’re all experiencing simlar things with what’s going on. Thank you for the opertunity to vent. Today has been much better so I’m feeling quiet upbeat for the most part. After 14 days of trying to get a delivery slot for food I managed it after spending 9hrs in ques to get into websites. The whole process was a palaver and almost didn’t get it but all turned out ok in the end. My daughter has been really worried about food after the last time ( about a fortnight ago) we visited the supermarket but after giving her the news food was comming she gave me the biggest hug and told me she will talk to the priminister and ask him to give me a reward for taking care of her and not letting the food run out. Was the biggest highlight of my day. The other was a friend dropping off some food to carry us through and a packet of mentos had my little girl dancing around the room giggling.

I hope every one is staying safe and doing ok xx

Your daughter is amazing! It’s too bad we’re all separated in different states or countries, but I know we’d kick in with help if we could. So maybe giving you a place to vent, and to discuss good things as well, will help make things easier!

I was watching the news showing Boris giving his update the other day, and he looked overwhelmed a bit. Or perhaps just uncomfortable on camera. But at least you have NHS, you’re so lucky!

NY is very scary now, with so many infections. It’s making normal things like getting stuff done at the bank or store a big thing for me. But I’m sure it’s similar for you.

Where are you located? How’s vaping for you now? I hope you’ve got everything you need.

Keep in touch!:hug: At least we can hug online. Lol

Wednesday check in. I’m here and breathing. Yay! Nothing much going on here....cases in Virginia going up.....not crazy fast, but slowly getting faster.

Got a flavor for the Dinner Lady “clone”. Mixing tomorrow.....hoping I have the right flavor. I have one more after that to try, then send it out to the “official” testers. :)

Today is week one of being closed. The shock is starting to wear off and I’m getting stuff done. Keeping busy is a good thing!

Hope y’all are doing well!:blowkiss:

Some people just don’t realize that this pandemic is life changing, and just go on with their petty bullshit like nothing’s changed.

Not exactly sure how to broach this. Will try, probably will fumble.

In my own experience, the "pandemic" does not seem to have changed life much. Please read that last sentence a few times. Not saying life has not changed. Saying that for me, it does not seem to have change, or only very little.

I am mainly quite possibly borderline agoraphobic. That means I'm kind of shut in a home. I don't have friends just dropping by. I don't go visiting friends, don't go see a play, movie or museum, symphony, concert.

I do not do "trendy", "fashionable". For example I never have watched Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, I might have seen about one episode of Duck Dynasty in total and maybe half an episode of Alaskan Bush people. In part I never saw any real substantive content to these, reality tv shows, keeping up with kardasians, These just were not "in" things or even "things" for me.

Consider too I age slower than most. I'm late forties but got a body of about mid twenties, pardon my silver hair. Growing up I saw friend grow up, move on in life. I stayed the same. This left "outside" to look in. I'm still outside looking a great deal. And gee, there's also my sexual orientation, political views, religious views. I'm definitely outside the "norms" because all of those leave me facing stigmas, stereotypes.

I like borrowing a line from a Rush Song. "I can see what you see, just makes me wronger. I can feel what you feel, just makes me stronger. I can be, I can be what you can be, just takes me longer." And for the intellect I have, there's "blind spots". I always do stuff the hardest, most backward way. I have to so I can learn to do for myself and that often adds further frustration when some smartie comes along with "see how easy?" Yes, I have some learning disabilities, meaning sometimes I'm not having the capacity to learn stuff.

There's a laundry list as to why I have learning disabilities, and their causes, inclusive of my brain being literally "wired" different from birth. i lack a sense of smell, which adds to things. I learned being what was called a conditional sociopath. I adopted shutting off emotions to survive and still struggle at times in that and with going to the other end of the spectrum in being at times psychotically passionate.

*chuckles* Yes, I know. "I go to extremes!" That seems a apt theme song for me, it really does. And in all of this, this is why for me life hasn't seemed to have changed much. A day is still a day to me. It's still now. Disease or no, life is life and I'm just passing through it. Hm, maybe my mom was on to something "just try being good at making the best of whatever goes on." Yay. Excuse me, think I'm gonna crash.

I just meant that this person was acting like I should just “get it done” ignoring the fact that now very few places are even open, including the bank I’ve got to go to. She was meant to send me some checks. I got them and asked if she would mind just doing an electronic transfer of funds. She wouldn’t do that.

Like why should I not want to go five miles away now, even tough we’re on lockdown in a supposed epicenter? Why indeed?

It helps just being here talking. She’s been home schooled two and half years now and amazes me every day. I’m starting to see the the damage school did ( within weeks of entering the education system at the age of four she was a self harmer) undone. She’s so loving thoughtful and kind and has the cutest giggle. Would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Boris has mad a lot of mistakes ( granted Unpresidented times but still ) especilly over clear advice. I think it’s really hitting home how much of a big job he has and how dire the situation is. His career will also be defined by what he does in the next weeks and months but people could help by staying home as much as possible like every where else. Many seem to be ignoring this though and that truly frightens me. The streets are not much different. Just as many cars and people where I am and so many comming and going from the flats. If people keep this up nhs will be overwhelmed. Slowly bit by bit they have been shaving bits off of it and underfunding it to the point some hospitals arnt worth going to. We are lucky to have it but in most cases it’s a crazy mess at the best of times.

I can emagen its very scary for a lot of people but at least here we can suport one another :) I hope you are able to get every thing done you need to in a safe way  were just carrying on as normal without my daughters activities but she’s still leaning so we’re kept busy and the internet comunication with her friends is making her so happy. Today she’s cooking, cross stitching, doing science experiments and social time through games. In fact if I don’t think about food or the outside world it’s a very relaxing time for us as not having to rush around with so many activities is nice. That’s got to sound weird to most though lol

We are in the south of London. When last I checked in a five mile radius we had 85 confirmed cases and I didn’t look into the deaths as I want to stay posative.

Vaping has been really good the last few years. I found some of my favrout recipies on VU :) and mix up flavours in large batches to add to my stash of vg. Curently I’m vaping flavourless though as I quiet enjoy it. As of 7pm tonight I’ve got every thing for at least a couple of months. Any thing I forgot can come off eBay but I’m not worried about it.

I hope you have every thing you need and are not having to go out to often. Online hugs are always good and are something that should never be in short supply

Every one stay safe be good to one another and try to relax as much as possible xx

Hello and welcome, Tatty! I hope that after 5 years as a member you'll be hanging out with us more. Rhianne has such a passionate ear. She's a true sweetheart.

I follow the Royals quite tightly. It's my understanding Prince Charles has been diagnosed. I fear the time he's spent with the Queen recently may have put her in danger. Not to forget Camilla. She's in poor health as it is, also. I'm hoping they were tested immediately. What a nightmare! I would believe Prince William will put off his public duties and be tested as well as Catherine and the children.

Stay with us. Be safe and be well.

Ok so the spike in cases caused by Mardi Gras and Spring Break has already begun in the South. Yesterday's news on YT reported on a spike in cases in Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida. Sounds like Louisiana is going to be in bad shape very shortly.

Now those people who partied are back home. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that means.

Also the flight of people from New York to other states - I understand that people are terrified, but that's going to be a massive problem, too, for the rest of us, who live in the places they ran to.

Good morning everyone! So before this virus struck, I had to get two root canals on my top two front teeth. The dentist bonded them and then when the virus goes or he can open again, he’s putting crowns on them... well last night I was eating pizza and all of a sudden I felt a hole! My whole tooth snapped off without me realizing and I swallowed it! I called his emergency phone number and am hoping he can contact me ASAP! I’m a country girl, but now I look like a redneck! Only good thing about this virus now is I can wear a face mask out to cover my damn missing tooth face!

Yep, know the type. Not my type, as in not how I am, or the type I choose being around. Of course, I'm around all my imaginary friends all day and night so well there's that. But the damnedest thing is I realize these imaginary friends are mere aspects of my subconscious. So, I'm being my own bestie. *chuckles*

Better watch out Ellie, one o' them boys what count to three using all their toes will be looking to swoon you. :D *chuckles*

Sorry, no coffee yet and I channeled my wife's grandfather Tuesday. Well, more like I let him drive me a little. *grin* I was feeling claustrophobic in his basement dealing with his dryer vent tubing. That was making me all fumble fingered and I was doing jack all for something simple.

Heard his spirit laughing at me and stammering. Being so irked at myself and feeling closed in, I relented and said "fine, you can do it, use my hands and do it." So he did. Then, once he was done he told me to check and see if it was functional. It was. The job didn't exactly look pretty but it functioned and was an improvement from what it had been. we agreed that was the aim of doing it. So good on us. :)

Sometimes I let other spirits drive. Yes, I'm aware of the risks. I've lived knowing spirits all my life. I can know the evil from the good rather well. Her granddad I know is good, possibly a little mischievous at times but only in good fun. Know it because I ate the very few sins he had after his body died. Trust me when I say despite my knowing spirits and letting them drive every so often, I can let the dead be for the dead. I'm not a necromancer by any definition of it.

The above is kind of his and my humor mixed together.

Lmao I couldn’t save my tooth! I swallowed it without knowing! Didn’t know it broke until I swallowed the bite of pizza I took and felt a hole in my mouth!

Thank you so much! I’ve missed you all!

A little more humor for you.

My stepfather being a long haul driver calls my mom one night about 3 AM. He was in Boston at the time I think, going to head to Fort Worth the next morning. What he called about was to him of dire importance.

Him: "Bev, Bev, ... I wallow mi 'eeth. I ay down, go to seep, feel like I'm choking and can't find my eeth when I ake up."

Mom: "Did you check your pillow case?"

A pause and then him back to her: "Well how did you know?"

Mom: "You told me last week you started hiding them there so you wouldn't swallow them."

He had quite literally drove a rig into a concrete pylon for an overpass bridge. Somehow a car had swiped his trailer causing him to swerve out and then end up pulling a jack knife. He took the pylon to avoid a bus of kids. At that time the dentist went on and took his natural teeth, he had nearly lost them all anyway from the wreck.

A running joke in our family then become "yep, gone and done it. I swallowed my dentures!"

I myself have full dentures. Both Pap and uncle Buddy had "soft"/bad kind of teeth. I kind of got gifted that and I'm sure nearly forty years of smoking helped. I don't wear them but not due to this joke/story. I just cannot gain comfort with them. I have tried and tried, I just am not able. So yep, I gum up what I eat. And it I find a little shameful as they're "custom" fit dentures. They just don't "fit" to suit me.

That’s a funny story!

My dentist told me the tooth was salvageable... he was wrong! Before the root canal I had my whole tooth! Now it’s completely gone!!! I called his emergency number to see if there’s a way for this to be an “essential” visit

Im here. Im alive. Im healthy. Not working but my wife is.
Found a couple stores near me that still have essentials. Lots of beef, pork and chicken.
Finally found a bag of potatoes after a week of searching.
Got lucky and scored a 12 pack of charmin.
Filed an unemployment claim this morning.

Glad to see this thread so active. Nice to be able to see how everyone is doing.

My two dogs are absolutely loving having their parents home all day.

If it's any consolation, my misses had an operation a couple of years ago and they broke one of her front teeth with the air tube somehow, must have been a bit rough I thought to break a tooth. But she probably looks like you do when she takes it out now. I call her a feral hillbilly, she sometimes does a goofy dance when she takes it out for a laugh and I stir her about it. :D

Early AM check in, basically just SSDD (same stuff, different day).

Our cats are loving me WFM. Hey he's here, lets jump up in front of his computer so he has to pay attention to us... I take it as a reminder to take a break from the screen.

My mom had a oven fried chicken recipe that is delish. Same idea as the bread crumb recipes above. Egg and milk dip for the chicken then the coating is potato flakes, grated parmesan cheese, a little garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bake in the oven in a glass baking dish (I foil line for easier clean up) with some butter for about an hour with a turn half way through. It has to be instant potato flakes, the bud things don't work.

Stay safe and well everyone!

Lol that’s a cute! I immediately kept asking my husband if I still looked ok and if he still thought I was attractive. I know it’s going to get fixed as soon as the dentist can open and hopefully he can get me in right away. It’s embarrassing

I have a cast metal partial, and one of the teeth in it is one of my front ones. I got head-butted by my six-year-old grandson during a tickle session about five years ago. He reared up and caught me right in the mouth with his big old hard head. Broke my tooth away from its roots.

Shit happens. You'll live through it. I hope when you have the work done it goes as well as mine did. No pain, no swelling, very little bleeding, I was shocked. It's damn near miraculous what they can do now.

Hi Yall. Just saw this thread. I'm alive...I think. Been stuck at home with 2 teens ( so basically alone) for 2 weeks. Out of work until this thing passes. Filed for unemployment. Thankfully I'm good vape wise.

Good to see you checking in. Never seen anything like this, changed our lives totally in a matter of hours, eh?

I'm checking in, too. Placed another Walmart order this morning. Stocking up on more actual food this time. It's getting difficult to get a pickup time, had to schedule this pickup in the next closest town, because all the slots for our town were already taken by 7 am today. Still no toilet tissue, no bread, no flour, no yeast, I ordered 3 boxes of Kleenex, just in case.

Having a very difficult time keeping my mind where it should be.

That ain't no shit.

I've found that actual grocery stores are faring better than Walmart with getting things restocked. Of course I'm also in the suburbs of a major metropolitan city. People around here are also stocking up for hurricane season because hurricane's don't care about no viruses.

Checking in, still ok here. Tired of doing chores. Hubby is grouchy because he can't go fishing, usually goes for 10 days at a time. Our cat likes helping him put new line on his poles.
We had a virus death in the next town, scary because we only have 4 reported cases in the state.
Stay safe

Checking in. Waiting for my home health nurse to come give me an injection. Then I desperately need to go deposit some cash in my bank. Then I'll come home, shower, disinfect and put on clean clothes.
My days have become monotonous.

Afternoon check in. I went out and did the lawn startup for the season. Talked with a few neighbors from a safe distance and many people are walking and bike riding. One thing that is really pissing me off is that I can't pet and get kisses from my little friends when the neighbors are walking them~! Dogs aren't affected by the Corona Virus but they can be carriers~! Showered up and waiting for wine time............. Stay Safe out there~

I did see in the news last week where there was a case of a dog that died from COVID in Hong Kong. I cannot vouch for the truth of it, but I did see it.

But if it's on the Internet, it must be true, eh? (I truly hope it wasn't - hate the thought of thousands of pets dying from it.)

Got a few orders in today, some TP, PT's, and canned goods. I installed my new printer, this thing is a beast! Much larger than my old one. And now I'm waiting for the President to go live.

:(:(:(

So I'm thinking ok they said come at 7am and there will be toilet paper. Ahh the never ending toilet papet saga, o_O actually right now I wish I had a roll like that, get to the first supermarket and none so just 2 packets of tissues, but. There is this guy about 60 walking around coughing openly not even attempting to cover his mouth. So I say "hey mate, cover your mouth when you cough will you that's not on". He just giggles and keeps coughing as he is looking at items. I say it again "mate stop coughing on everything you shouldn't even be here sick let alone openly coughing like that on everything" he just walks off with a big grin. I warned the people going towards him that he was apparently sick and coughing but they didn't even acknowledge me. At the checkout I tell the girl and point him out hoping she might call someone to ask him to leave, no ifs he had something, she just went "ooooo yuck" and carried on.
Next supermarket, last one to try, no toilet paper and an older couple walking around with the misses quite visibly having something, crook, and continually blowing her nose. Im thinking "you have to be kidding me" the stay home if your sick message just is not getting through. So home, all the clothes in the wash, showered and I dont care about the toilet paper now I'm not going out again until I absolutely no choice have to.

Well you really can't believe anything from over there IMO since they fudged the numbers of confirmed cases.
