Yeah. Lucky with a lot of hard work. If you decide to come down this way, you won't miss NYC. We got it all here, except for the huge metropolitan area that goes on for as far as the eye can see. We got coast, we got mountains, we got 3 major universities. We got a job market, and housing market that's hard to beat...anywhere in the US. And, we got the weather. Come on down, and I'll be glad to help you find your perfect home. ;)

I was born in NC and I’ve been down there and love it. It’s so beautiful, and I love pine trees. I really hate Manhattan anymore, it’s just overpriced, crowded, and dirty. It used to be fun when I was a teen, but they gentrified it to death.

Hopefully, I really can relocate there. And yes, I’ll call on you as a realtor for that!

Friday check in. Been a beautiful day here because I am staying here, ain't leaving till I just have to. heading out to spend some time in the garden, maybe I coax everything to grow faster.
Talked to my sister this morning, she lives a ways from here, and she said the shelves in all four stores in her town were almost bare.
Still food shortages!? Here is back to normal in our shops, virtually everything fully stocked again. A few restrictions on the purchase amounts but otherwise can get anything we want. That would be a stressful disconcerting feeling going to empty shops. Hope it finishes for you guys sooner than later.

Wet day here, but all good. Feel almost guilty saying that!
Take care and stay safe everyone.

Are you under threat from the "polar vortex" thing coming this weekend?
Sounds like a potential garden season killer if it's coming your way sadly

Our check in, we are fine - a beautiful day here
Sure am, gonna get down to 29 tonight, I've covered what I can but just more stuff than covers so I covered the most tender.
Glad you and family are doin well my friend

Interesting you post that. I was listening to a show a couple of nights ago where a guy in his town was saying how local meat work production at the abattoir there was scaling back for local but still going strong for pork processing getting shipped to China. How a number of local pork producers had sold their farms or given up. Have heard similar with sheep and cattle here. We had an abattoir here close several years ago and so did one in another town north of us. Its common knowledge here that the best meat is sent overseas and we get the second rate stuff. Years ago when I lived on the coast every peak squid season time we would see a huge massive ship off shore lit up like a floating city. It would stay for several weeks. It was a giant Japanese squid ship catching thousands of tons of our squid that were making their annual way towards Melbournes Port Philip bay. Decimating the stocks of them and all heading back to Japan. They would anchor just 2 kilometers off shore. Could you imagine what they would say to us if we asked to do a similar thing?
Very weird times Jimi.

Well, we just saw that the churches here will begin services again this Sunday. That very much concerns me for his mom. I'm not a church goer, but I know how much she misses going and socializing with her friends. I feel for her, I really do, but we're both very concerned, too. He's going to have a discussion with her tomorrow. Wish him luck, LOL. I know where he gets his stubbornness.

They are supposed to practice 6' social distancing and no handshakes/hugs. But we know how that will work out.
so if they do practice the distancing thing their capacity will be well under 25% of what it was before all of this...
Think they will turn people away when the 'New Full' is reached?

morning

it is actually 10pm saturday, but i'm going with good morning & happy mother's day to all mothers

i never ask ages, but i am 40, and i suspect some of the older VU ladies think of not so young VU members as not unlike sons & daughters. Or at least someone to care for and look after

IDK, probably stupid, i just sometimes get that vibe

Good evening DM! Very good to see you today. I'm 59 and haven't taken on anyone here as a son or daughter yet, but I was born to make friends and help others. My mom was very social, had lots of friends, and was a care giver, so I guess I got that from her. In my local vape community though, I do have two kids in their mid 20's that I am close to, that I consider a son and daughter. Both come from broken families, with some terrible background stories. I am amazed at how well both of them turned out, considering their backgrounds.

Really enjoying this community. Lots of really great people here. Wish I had joined a long time ago. Great thing also, is that some of my friends, and a lot of the super people from the other forum are here also. This is my new online vaping family, and I just want to give everyone a grouphug.gif.

Sunny.gif It's a beautiful sunny morning, and going to be in the 60's F here today. Nice family walk planned for later. Have a great day everyone! Stay safe and be well. :inlove:

It is really cold here in the house this morning. I'm still in bed because I don't want to crawl out from under my covers! I can tell it must be very cold outside, and I'm just hoping yesterday's rain hasn't frozen all over everything.

It’s the dirty trade deals that the politicos make, without consulting citizens about it. Oz and the States seem to be in similar straits now, being screwed by China or other countries.

Glad you’re okay! Stay healthy. Regards to you and Mrs. S.

It's been crazier than usual here... 3 days ago it was 70, yesterday my lawn guy mowed the lawn, now today snow!

I’m snuggling under the covers too here. It feels like 30, and when I went to the kitchen for coffee, I’d left the window open.

45 right now in eastern central KY.
Beautiful outside just not at all warm.

Had to make yet another town trip. Wife 'forgot' to tell me about a prescription...

No wipey things at Wally world but pretty much everything else. Except hand sanitizer of course.
Meat racks looked to be at least 2/3 full.

Not much going on. Weather is hot here, mid to upper 90s, but should go back down to the 70's next week. At least it cools off into the 50s at night so I can cool the house without having to pay PGE an arm+leg.

County stats:
Cases 163
Active 69
Recovered 91
Deaths 3

Me, my wife, and the critters are all fine.

Good morning VU!

Ear still boogered, but better... feels great after Hydrogen Peroxide drops and warm water rinse... slowly its feeling better.

Wife is at work today... and its such a beautiful day here in SD... Park near us when I walked the dogs this morning had the new signs up about phase 2... somewhere between 8pm and 4:30a said signs went up... tiny ass signs though... almost missed them, but glad the trails are open.

Finals soon for my CAD class...not sure if I will attempt to take online classes for the summer... didn't see SolidWorks listed.

Almost time to take the old dogs on a walk again... get that 2nd and 3rd mile in

Be safe everyone

Very scary numbers from some of your areas!! My country (Canada) has ten times less population than the USA but is close to the same size (land mass) so obviously it easy for us to practice social distancing. Just over 6000 cases in my whole province (Alberta) my family & I are healthy & still working. My heart breaks for all VU members who are suffering through this pandemic stay safe VU family!!

On low. Need to pick up mushroom, Olives and veg stock when supermarkets open.

Also doing slow roasted broccoli and other veg. On about 120°C for several hours.

We are both mostly vego these days.

There was a small outbreak at a larger work place here recently. Other than that, pretty good.

I’ve been hearing honking and yelling for weeks now outside, and wondered what it was. So, now I’ve heard that there are rent protests going on all over.

I get it, since rents in my neighborhood are really high. Like $3;000 high at least. Really bad situation for everyone here.

Anyway, doing pretty good. Days are all the same, but I’m used to it, I guess.

Stay safe and healthy, VU people. <3
Wow $3000 for rent that's ridiculous!! My mortgage on a 1520 Sq ft home on over an acre of land with all services cost me $750 per month.

My county has 1/4 of the cases/deaths in NYC and they’re prolly going to do a “limited” reopening soon. I understand that the they don’t want the economy to fail, but there’ll be a lot more new cases this summer, I’m sure.

Glad you and the missus are doing well.
The economy has failed!! Even if the virus has a miracle cure today it's going to take years probably decades to recover from this. Poor money management, corruption & a overall general state of being unprepared by governments around the world makes this a disaster the world has never seen!!

Doing well. No complaints.
Healthy and alive.
Finished the kitchen finally!
Here's pics to prove it!
This kitchen has come a long way since we bought this house 3 years ago. New black cultured granite sink, custom painted counter tops, more hours than I can recall put into repairing the walls, the trim and the cabinets. Many more hours went into refinishing the cabinets. Lots of sanding. I think I have 5 coats of acrylic enamel sprayed on each cabinet door. The lower cabinets have an additional 3 coats of crystal clear poly/acrylic sealer over the paint. Extra protection for when my dogs decide to prop their freddy Kruger claws into my cabinets while begging for treats.
