Wheezing from vaping

Greetings, I have been vaping for a little over a year, and the first year I had no problems, but 3 months ago I started to wheeze from vaping. It was not too severe, so I cut back, and then quit for a little over a month. I started to vape again and I started to wheeze again and I do not know why. I use a Smok Alien with a Baby Beast Tank and also a Smok Nord first gen, and at the time I was vaping 3mg eliquid made by Naked, and not by the shop I bought it from. When I first started to wheeze, I was using my Nord and was buying my eliquids from ecblend dot com. When I vape I wheeze a little bit, and then it comes and goes. I tend to chain vape and will vape for probably like 10-15 minutes at a time. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I spoke to a Doctor, and he said that vaping liquids can have irritants, and he prescribed me an inhaler, which I use when the wheezing won't go away on its own. I have vaped ratios of 80vg/20pg, 70vg/30pg, 60vg/40pg, and 50/50 ratio.

When this happens do you cough up mucus from the wheezing?

No I do not. It's just a dry cough, and I don't produce any mucus.

I have two questions.
What area (state/country) are you from and do you only vape nicotine based eliquids?
Talking about other stuff (The opposite of CBD) is against the rules here but a simple yes or no would do.

I'm just trying to eliminate a couple things.

Hi. I get asthma, which is under decent control, but certain concentrates will trigger a response enough that I reach for an inhaler. I can go often over a week without needing it normally. But some concentrates really give me a reaction.Cant recall the brand but tried a Smores Cupcake a while ago and did that ever not agree

No, I only vape nicotine liquids. I live in TX, USA and don't touch illegal substances.

Since the wheezing started with you vaping the Nord, my first suspicion would be that you are sensitive to PG.

Many of us are somewhat sensitive to either VG or PG. I run into problems myself if I vape VG above 65%.

Maybe you could leave off the higher PG liquids for a week or two and see if there's an improvement?

I will try that. I'm going to go get 80% vg juice later. Thanks for your advice!

I got 80% vg ejuice. Also, thinking back, I would always vape flavors that tasted creamy. Maybe that was also a contributing factor.

It's possible to be sensitive to any of the ingredients in e-liquid. One of the members here can only vape a very few specific flavorings, and his finding that out was a matter of trial and error over time. I hope that isn't the case with you.

Making changes, though, if you follow that route, has to be done slowly, and one change at a time, so you can reliably see the effects of each change you make. Good luck with it, I hope you find a resolution without too much trial and error!

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay~!

I might sound a bit nasty but 3 months is nothing to blame on Vaping do nothing at all for 3 months and see how you feel. If it was from your smoking well you found out why~! You never said how many years you smoked if you did but I assume you smoked. Good Luck

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd post a status update. I stopped wheezing! I switched to max vg ejuice, and it turns out I had a lot of allergens in my room also because I noticed that I wheezed even when not vaping. I gave my room a deep cleaning and opened up the windows since it's a lot cooler right now here in Texas, and getting rid of dust and getting more fresh air, with using max vg ejuice solved the problem! Previously I would just spend time in my room and very rarely go out due to the pandemic. Thank you all very much for your help!!!

Glad you got that figured out. I was having nosebleeds while vaping for awhile turns out that quitting a yes to a previous question took care of that. Only vap nic now.
