Similar to the Cloud Chasers Section, but for those of us who Flavor Chase. place to post builds, attys, tanks and such and discuss wicking techniques, coilbuilds and other such stuff that could help those looking for ideas on how to better enhance their flavor chasing experience. Just a thought. -=)

I have a Venturi RDA and let me tell you it is definitely a flavor chaser's dream come true. It's basically build like a Kayfun but it's a dripper.

I would love it if we had a flavor chasers section. I was actually about to start a thread, The Marquis vs. The Veritas.

Marquis wins for me. I have both and the veritas doesn't get used now that I have the marquis. Now that I just got a clone to take outside its going to be my all day vape. Just easier build and netter vapor and flavor.

Good to know! I went a head and ordered one. I ordered from fasttech so hopefully it will show up in the next couple months lol

Yeah I think I'm really gonna enjoy it. Looks so much easier to build. I like to do horizontal coils on my veritas but they're a bitch to build. I was able to do two 8 wrap microcoils and smash them together (horizontal). The flavor was amazing but it took me like a half hour to get them fastened down and smashed together.

I also ordered a Lemo Drop for when I'm out and about. I have a regular Lemo but every few hits I would get a dry hit. I think it's because I'm using a high VG juice. I heard the Drop does well with thick juice.

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

Just got the Marquis yesterday and it's true, it is better then both the Magma and the Veritas.
A blind man could build it, doesn't leak, works well even at low wattage, just a shame theres no logo on the outside.

Cloud build + increase wrap count + restrict airflow = Flavour build.

Wow I'm usually the one more to the point see now I've decided to be indecisive that way there is no accountability and no one gets mad :)

Starting to see a lot of FLAVOR chasing type requests in the other parts of the forum...hmmmm...Methinks its about that time, eh?

So what's a good coil build for flavor? I'm using an unregulated mod with El cabron RDA. I have 26 gauge kanthol at the moment, but of course all ideas welcome.

What do you recommend for what I'm working with?

I suggest twisted 26 g on the screw driver that came with ur cabrin 5/6 wraps, use the flavor drip tip not the wide bore..if ur using a high vg minimize airflow to get some flavor...good luck

Thx... Never attempted a twisted coil, but now is as good as time as any.

Got a black Vertex V2 clone by Ivogo on a black 50w iStick. 1.3 ohm Single coil, 9 wraps, 28g, 2mm ID @ 16-25watts. Great flavour, nice clouds. Ran it in dual coil but too warm for my tastes.
Also running a Venturi clone by Ivogo on the same iStick 50w with the same coil specs. I have to say the Vertex V2 takes it on flavour and vapor production.
Just ordered a Tobeco Marquis to see what all the fuss is about.

I like. I've been chasing flavor since the start. Clouds are cool and all, but, I really just want to taste my vape.
The BEST flavor I've tasted is Pecan from candyflavor, I love the full taste of it and it even reminds my wife of pecan pie from the holidays, But Pecan is the BEST I've ever tasted!!!

I have both Yaeliq' and Vista Vapors butter pecan. Both needed considerable steeping, and I'd rate them at mediocre. I love pecan pie, one of the few sweets I really like, the two I have were supposed to taste like one, but they aren't quite there. Will have to check out candyflavor.

You mean Volvo clouds? LOL. Small, boxy, but inherently safe....
Why yes I do... Funnily enough, my second car was a white automatic 1988 740GLE. The slowest car, but despite being old, it was safe. As a kid, my family had a good old 240 series wagon with the rear facing kid bench seat. Good times :)

I really dig Pecan Pie from Link removed by staff . Pretty tasty stuff! Don't get the extra flavor shot though, it doesn't need it. o_O

If I posted this to the wrong area, I'm sorry. I read flavor chasers and just figured it was about flavors people like.

I've really been enjoying the mini freakshow, using a DotMod friction drip tip to open it up (compared to using an oring DT) to what the air flow holes can do but it still delivers fantastic flavor. Rayon for wick, 25g, 0.45 coil @2.5mm.
Orchid for out and about always but I usually flip between hobo & clt at home but I haven't used either of those since I got the FS... and of course now they came out with a black one to match my smok m50 lol.

I also using Venturi and love it as always.. Havent found a better one yet.

Anyway, whats ur setup? Im loving a warm vapor so my fave setup is at .4 ohm and dual coils. Sometimes twisted but mostly nicrome 80.

My setup? Forgot this part... dual micro coil running 30w to 33w.

A flavor chasers corner may actually get more traffic than the cloud chasers corner @ VU. I think that would be a good sub forum to have.

Yes you did, this is a request area not a link drop area (link removed)

When using lower airflow, you’ll gain more flavor from your vape. When less air encounters the coils, it forces the vapor out quicker as well as becomes warmer. When it’s forced out quicker, the flavor comes out fuller and thicker than when using a larger airflow. This is due to the “Joule-Thomson effect”. The Joule-Thomson effect explains that when air passes through a reduced orifice size, it causes a drop in the temperature. The speed of air flow affects the cooling efficiency, which also affects the overall flavor of the vapor. With an increased airflow, you will experience less flavor, less of a harsh throat hit and more vapor (with a cooler and looser draw). With a decreased airflow, you will experience more flavor, more of a harsh throat hit, and less vapor (with a hotter and tighter draw).
This is just an old myth. Lower airflow does not guarantee more flavor, as the amount of airflow still needs to work in tandem with the speed of vapor production; the latter also depends on other factors (e.g., the wattage, and the total surface area of the coil build), and, faster airflow moving across a hot surface causes liquid to evaporate from that surface faster, not slower, so no... when less air encounters the coils, it doesn't force the vapor out quicker.

Further, the Joule-Thomson effect only becomes a noticeable factor if the air gets sucked through the reduced orifice size at incredibly high pressure levels that you simply cannot attain by sucking the air into your lungs. If we can assume that the volume of air that gets sucked out via the drip tip per time unit (usually seconds) is in balance with the vapor production rate, then less flavor is what you'll get if the airflow isn't focused well enough onto the coils, as the flavor gets diluted by the part of air that doesn't encounter the coils, and, this can happen as a result from poorly positioned coils with regards to position of air holes, also including the distance between the coil and the air hole in question, and how that distance needs to work in tandem with the air speed that results from both the strength of the draw and the amount of restriction that the air hole provides if used at that particular draw strength.
