Hello all, I was putting together some new flavors the other day and put one together that I really love.
It has a warm, rich flavor profile that wraps itself around you like a nice warm quilt on a cold winter day.
I call it The Traveling Quilt. Like a good quilt, I am going to post this recipe here and ask that everyone try it if they can, then add to it, post your addition and or variations here, and like a quilt, this recipe will grow and change as it ages. Lets perfect this one as a community. Lets do something together, lets make a Quilt. Keep it Foggy!

Here are the flavors I used in my VG Base. I Chose to use high flavor profiles for a full body flavor experience.

FA Almond 4%
TFA Toasted Marshmallow 7.5%
FW Madagascar Vanilla 4%
TFA Cheesecake Graham crust 2%

This is a great idea Celtic! Hmmm...any suggestions for using something other than the Madagascar Vanilla? I don't have it, but this sounds like a great idea.

Is it like Vanilla Classic, or is it like Vanilla Bourbon? I always get the vanillas confused.

I love the idea of a community recipe that evolves as people riff on it! I would have to sub for the TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust & Madagascar Vanilla. I could try with one of the FA Vanillas and a combination of Cheesecake Flavoring and Graham flavoring?

I have heard repeatedly that there is a huge difference between TFA plain Cheesecake flavor and Cheesecake Graham... but I do not know what it is--and whether the CCGC can be approximated by mixing CC & graham. Thoughts?

you could do that, but go light on the GC alone, it can get overpowering really fast.

@Hermit
"The majority of the world's vanilla is the V. planifolia species, more commonly known as Bourbon vanilla (after the former name of Réunion, Île Bourbon) or Madagascar vanilla, which is produced in Madagascar and neighboring islands in the southwestern Indian Ocean, and in Indonesia."

Some wiki copy pasta... :)

I'm on my 3rd bottle of Cap's toasted almond that I know pretty well at this point, haven't tried the TPA version yet

Yeah, but... hmm, after reading those posts before mine again, it's not clear at all is it!
Bourbon and Classic are the names of the FlavourArt vanillas...
Madagascar (Vanilla Classic)
Bourbon (Vanilla Bourbon)
... which often get renamed to just the bracketed part by resellers, I think :)

@Hermit Damn I think from searching around, the definition of "classic" varies by region.

Three sub species:
Vanilla planifolia, grown on Madagascar, Réunion (renamed from "Île Bourbon" in 1793), and other tropical areas along the Indian Ocean (French colony = European Vanilla?)
Vanilla tahitensis, grown in the South Pacific (Vanilla Tahiti)
Vanilla pompona, found in the West Indies, and Central and South America (Mexican/American/Western Vanilla?)

Maybe it's brave to call the FA UK site wrong, but there's a discrepancy in nomenclature of the vanillas there, since "Bourbon" and "Madagascar" have an island in common geographically. Am I missing something?

@Laughmore - I'm guessing, but maybe it's just that FA made the 'Madagascar' one first and then had to think of a name for their newer version! HIC's notes describe (FA) Classic as being like Mexican vanilla extract.

I've no idea which of the FA vanillas is closest to FW Madagascar though, since I don't have that one. I'd probably try Classic first in a Quilt, or maybe a mix of Classic and Bourbon.

Just got some FW Madagascar Vanilla and it tastes sweeter than the FA Vanilla Classic, to me anyway.
Probably just the bad stuff I'm tasting, lol.

Ok, I have stretched and pulled a few times. Here are my final results. LOVE THIS JUICE. My new ADV and my wife LOVES it too. Here is my current copy of the Quilt. Warning, this is a rich full flavor!

2% FA Almond
8% TFA Toasted Marshmallow
4% FW Madigascar Vanilla
2% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust
2 5% FA Butterscotch
2.5% FA Strawberry
.75% Smooth BCV
.75% Sweet BCV

Next, Im going to pull the Marshmallow back 2% and add some FA Latakia!
Then, Im going to pull the Butterscotch out and replace it with some honey and add some Tobacco flavor as well.
