Heya guys seen you all raving about custard flavour juice so I bought a bottle from local b&m and love it :) got 10ml of FA vanilla custard blend flavouring and when I got it, it didn't smell right after speaking to FA guy he explained the new harmless chems and that I need to steep it to get the flavour. I hate having to steep things im too eager do I need to? And what are your recommended percentages?

This depends on the flavor you are going for, I myself am starting a vape line and have encountered many ways to do this if you want a real nice custard base I'll gibe you this to start

4-5% vanilla custard
1% vanilla from flavor concentrate
1.5% vanilla cupcake
3% sweet vape or 1 drop stevia to every 10 ml

As far as steeping some people say this takes from flavor but I have not had this problem what so ever, my method takes
2-3 days and it will taste as if been steeping for a week leave in car on a hot day or on your window seal at home let sun hit it and you will see the change in color and your flavor intensify.

Please do not ever leave you juice on the window seal or in the sunlight as it will break down the liquid, especially if you have nicotine in it. Proper steeping is putting your liquid in a pyrex container with a lid or covered container that can withstand 150 F heat. Let steep in the water in a crockpot and pull out every 2 or 3 hours and give it a stir with a milk frother or some sort of high power stirrer. Repeat process for about 8 hours. Juice will be awesome the next day after you let it cool. Any questions. please ask :)

2-5% just know that unlike other custards, FA custard has a sour note (which I really like)

Yep! They make smaller ones, larger ones - if I were you, I'd check out Goodwill or any local thrift store, someone is always getting rid of one. You could end up with one for under $5. I personally have a fondue pot with temperature control, my husband picked it up brand new, still in the box, at Goodwill for $5. :D

Question how does it break down liquid? Or flavor or as I said is this a suggestion chemically how does it break it down?

To give a simple analogy, it's like making spaghetti sauce - the longer you cook it the more the flavors blend together (it also improves sitting in the fridge).

More like an hour=a week! Crockpot is much cheaper and does pretty much the same job with less effort (if you were trying to decide!)

I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and didn't do what I wanted or thought for a small scale but I've since bought an electric heating incubator which does wonders can store up to 100 bottle's never tried crock pot.

Well who's a silly billy? Why didn't you just get an UC with a heating element? I am ordering one in Australia for just over $100 AUD from eBay which has a relatively large tank, heating element and up to 99 minute cycles! Comes with a basket as well, which some don't and it's useless trying to do anything in an UC without the basket! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121201106589

Ha ha yeh you have a point! Anyway I ended up ordering just an UC without heater for $50 AUD delivered from a reputable eBay merchant. The one with the heater for $100 pretended to despatch the goods from Sydney, Australia but inspecting the reviews found out, as with many Chinese vendors, that the product is actually shipped on a slow boat from China and I don't like the idea of an UC getting knocked about with all the fortune cookies and noodles in the hull of a Chinese ship! Besides on closer examination it appears the "heated" units only heat for 45 minutes at a time and for a half the price I am prepared to add hot water from the tap every hour or so. Also heard that nicotine can degrade by standing in an electrically heated water bath for to long. Not sure about that but hey if it works really well I will invest a cupla hundred bucks in a decent one from an Australian suppllier!

The first time I tried the crock pot method, I tested the nic strength before and after the bath. I thought I had set it on the recommended 150 degrees, but later found it was on 170... for 4 hours. After testing again, the nic strength had stayed the same. I'm not necessarily saying that heat can't hurt your nic, after extended periods of time, but over that time frame, it was fine, of course the color of the juice had changed a bit. This was a few years ago, and I've since dropped the crock pot method. I just let them sit with time, if they need it.

I have a slow cooker. Can somebody scool me on how yall do this? You make your mix in a glass bottle. Then put it in the slowcooker on low submerged in water? How long do you leave it in there? I might try it out to see for myself. My crockpot only has three settings, off, low, and high.

Crockpots are wonderful to fix good stew and such in.
If used correctly, crock pots can also be used to make fine, high quality, e juice.

First, of course, shake your mixed juice well. Starting (and continuing on at normal room temperature), place the shaken juice inside the crock pot and cover with lid. If it is a glass or other kind of clear lid, place a thick blanket over the pot.

Age the juice as appropriate for that particular mix.
A good quality crock pot can provide a good barrier to temper any abrupt and unwanted rapid temperature changes.

What setting? I read that low is 200°(aprox) and high is 300°.

Back when I used one, I had read to set it on 150. If no thermostat, a low setting, with the lid open a bit, would work. I never had any problems at that temp. What I read said 1 hour equaled one week. IME, still giving them a couple days to sit was best. Too much commotion for me, in the long run, so I stopped using one, LOL.

Once all the fluids are measured I whip them all together with the wifes Nutri-Bullet for a few minutes. It will actually turn to froth, let it settle then in a warm bath for a few hours..... DONE.. !
I usually mix 300Mls a batch then fill a couple 30Ml bottles & throw the rest in freezer for later use.

I did the same as you. But the wife is very happy with the crock pot and uses it often. I love when I do something right, even by accident.

For small batches I use my stainless steel travel coffee mug. It keeps coffee hot for 5 hrs so to steep juice I'll fill it with piping hot tap water, drop the bottles (in zip lock back) in and close the cup. Now I have the advantage of being able to shake the juice bottles during the steep without even removing them from the hot water :)

thats a new idea I havent heard before :) high five!

Right on! That's my fav method as the other benefit is I have no worries about temperature. It will only ever be as hot as the water I put in it to start :)

Also, I ride a bike and take public transit so I always have a backpack on me. I throw the mug in my bag and it shakes itself ;)
