Somewhere around here I saw a post that included info on a great place to purchase 18650 (and other sizes) batteries from.

I was sure I bookmarked the link but apparently I did not.

Looking for some good 18650x3400 mAh flat top batteries.

Are you extremely leery about batteries? There are plenty of quality products on Amazon and eBay, but some people only want to go through specific vendors.

Sent from the Otter Box around my Galaxy S4.

Not extremely Leary but Cautious and Frugal.

And I could have sworn someone here had posted about a place that just sold batteries and had high quality merchandise for very reasonable prices.

I've gotten all my 18650s off ebay. Tons of vendors. I try to just buy from ones that have sold hundreds of them and of course only from the US

I like the batteries I got from Triangle Vape. Came nicely packaged and in about 3 days. Very good prices. Those two batteries were about $18 shipped.

How's this for packing material? (that was all inside the usual bubble mailer)

Those are some great links. Up through now, I go to a trusted brick and mortar to purchase my batteries. Not only can I inspect it, but they are a legit shop I've been dealing with for quite a while. A few extra bucks for peace of mind. You might be able to do the same.

I agree a couple extra bucks for piece of mind and not losing a body part is worth it. We all spend a lot of $$ on mods, rba's, etc so why be cheap on batteries?

I have purchased from RTD Vapor, IMRBatteries, Liion Wholesale and Ilumn. Of the four, I prefer the latter three depending on pricing and availability. I usually stock around forty cells for use across various devices. None were purchased more than six months ago and are a mix of LG/Samsung/Sony...

I am planning to stock up batteries for vaping in upcoming winter. Can I go with VaporDNA?
Hey Dawn, Vapor DNA is fine for 18650's, so is all the places @vap3r mentioned above. I personally use Ebay, but genuinecells out of Florida are the only people I would buy from on there.

I use liionwholesale.com. VaporDNA lists Samsung 25R for $10.99 while at liionwholesale it is $5.15. They test their batteries so you know they are authentic. I ordered some batteries from them last Wednesday and had them on my porch last Saturday. This from PA where Liion is located to CA where I'm located. Another plus is @Jon@LiionWholesale is a member here.

EBay is the worst place along with Amazon to get batteries, very well known for fakes.

Liion Wholesale or IMR Batteries, excellent prices, trusted and they both work and support Mooch.

Sony batteries are pretty much gone. And LG HB4 and LG HB6 batteries are better performers albeit at 1500mAH opposed to the 1920mAH estimated true mAH but Sony rated them as 2000mAH. I was a VTC4 fanatic and never thought LG would come out with something that blows away all Sony 18650s besides the mAH. Plus imrbatteries is one of the only sites to sell LG HB4s, and LG HD2 25amp 2000mAH cells. Lionwholesale removed Sony from their brand list completely. I'm sure there's a goooood reason.

Why are amazon batteries fakes? Just curious, I know there are multiple vendors. However some of them seem legit such as samsung 25r's being sold by samsung. I have prime so that may factor a bit into the shipping and total cost but I can get samsung 25r's cheaper from amazon (sold by samsung) for less than places like illumn.com even with their 20% off sale. The face price is cheaper but not when you factor in shipping.

Can't speak for the others like the lg and things as far as prices being great but amazon has those listed as well, lg batteries from lg. Avoiding 3rd parties on amazon might be good advice but seems a bit of a blanket term to avoid them entirely for fakes, especially when the seller is the manufacturer. If samsung are selling fake samsung batteries I guess we're screwed lol.

Samsung isn't selling batteries on Amazon. Where it says Samsung is referring to the brand. The thing is, any 3P seller can jump on a listing and claim to be selling that item. And, 3P sellers can even change what it says for brand, if they have detail page control (you see this change a lot with Chinese sellers who tend to change it to their brand name so that they can then get competitors banned for selling items that don't match the listing).

I originally did this Anatomy of an Amazon page for a listing on Amazon's Germany site (when the same question came up, for Sony batteries) but the same applies to all Amazon sites.

I see what you're saying, usually I look harder when purchasing to see who I'm purchasing from. It used to be that the 'by' info was for the seller, seems they've changed or at least on batteries. I've not bought any batteries through amazon, but they do have others where it says 'by xyz battery store' instead of 'lg' or 'samsung'. I also try to make sure whatever it is the item is fulfilled by amazon since they're easy to work with rather than stuck with a 3rd party.

I had to go back and look at an amazon page since I don't speak german but I see what you're saying. First I've seen them slipping other sellers in, good to know. Not the first of their irritations over the years, also not fond of their price hopping games. Just to double check I looked up some other products more like things I've purchased in the past and they don't have a 3rd party shoved in there. It says who a product is by and shipped/sold by and fulfilled by amazon so maybe that's where the confusion came in.

Batteries seem to be a pain in the rear with regulations, safety, shipping concerns so maybe amazon themselves don't like to deal with batteries directly?

The batteries we use from LG, Samsung, and Sony aren't intended for end use (consumer use). They're intended for manufacturers. I presume Amazon doesn't carry them because it's really hard to buy those direct when you're selling retail and there's tons of fakes being sold by wholesalers. Easier to let the 3P (3rd party) sellers tackle those issues. Plus, Amazon doesn't allow vaping related stuff to be sold on their site. So, selling these for vaping would be in conflict with that. Not to mention the shipping issues you referred to, and Amazon has already had to pay massive fines for improperly shipping hazmat stuff.

I tossed together one for the .com site, for you and others. Also, what I mean by "Product reviews - is NOT seller specific" is that they lump together all the product reviews for items sold by all the assorted 3P sellers. Just because one or more reviews say that it's authentic, doesn't mean you'll get authentics since they're lumped together. It could be that there's only one 3P seller selling genuine and the others are all selling fakes, or the other way around, no way to know which seller it refers to unless the reviewer specifically names the vendor.

Mainly because Sony sent out cease and desist letters. http://liionwholesale.com/blogs/rev...date-best-battery-substitutes-for-sony-18650s

I agree. Sony's aren't as good as my favorite 30amp LG HB4s which only are cheapest and sold at imrbatteries which is a trusted site. Liionwholesale should be ordering their stock right now because I'm no longer able to buy what I need from them.

Amazon has rules against vape related stuff? Maybe people are somehow slicking it in there but there's a fair amount. From wire to wicks to rebuilding kits to skins to coolfire iv's (the actual mod). I'm not up on all of amazon's policies. Also didn't know that 18650's weren't for consumer use. 18650's are fairly common in flashlights, you'd think it would be a typical consumer item.

I know what you mean about reviews, I have items in similar marketplaces and when a potential customer goes to your product page the reviews they see aren't always for your product but for similar ones. It's possible to get bad reviews that pertain to another seller lumped together with yours which sucks. It looks like your item has the bad review.

Also don't like that so many products these days have compensated reviewers, whether they disclaim it (like they're supposed to) or not.

It is a big problem. A long time ago we sold on Amazon but what would happen is once our products got really good reviews, other people would jump on selling the listing and some of the sellers would sell fakes. So then someone would get a fake, leave reviews that they were fake, and then other people would read those reviews and think the batteries they got from us were fake. Or people would get the fake from someone else and think they got them from us. It was a mess, so we stopped selling on there a couple years ago. I highly recommend never getting batteries or anything where counterfeits are a concern, from Amazon. Sometimes you'll get good ones but it's like russian roulette.

Amazon is slowly going through and trying to remove all vape related stuff, it is true that vape related stuff is not allowed on there now. Knowing Amazon they'll never get it all so vape stuff will probably persist on there.

I appreciate your input but we prefer to keep it simple and generally only sell the best batteries. To be fair the HB4 is one we've strongly considered and continue to consider but the HB2 and HB6 should be similarly good.

The Vape stuff such as wire will probably always be able to be found there, but they can't advertise it as being for vaping. Selling Mods, RDAs, and eliquid will get you banned for life from selling on Amazon once they notice ya doing it.

Exactly this. I get my PG/VG via Amazon, from Bulk Apothecary, but that stuff is for LOTS of uses, not just vaping.

But I would never buy batteries from either Amazon or ebay; that's how I wound up with counterfeit AW batteries, and learned my lesson. Whoda thunk it, counterfeiting batteries! I swear some people will steal anything that ain't redhot or nailed down.

You guys do a good job and I've had good luck with you. The only criticism I have is you sell eFest without a note that they inflate their ratings. Vendors who sell eFest or any other battery with inflated amp ratings need to promenatly display a notice that the ratings are inflated.

Yea ebay is definitely a gamble on most things but then it is what it is, a bunch of private sellers and buyers with some protections in place in certain cases. I generally don't buy there unless I know who I'm dealing with. The most expensive thing I bought there was a mattress for just under $1000 but it was a store front for someone very well known and highly recommended dealing in legit materials. I definitely wouldn't have done it on a whim or because the sale ad looked 'promising' lol. That and I spoke with the vendor on the phone several times ahead of time.

There are plenty multiuse things like pg/vg or wire but aside from blatant things like mods I've seen supplies sold by vaping companies such as wicks or wires that claim they're made for vaping. Rather than just selling 'beauty pads' where people know they can use them for wicking. Maybe with the regulations coming down the line vendors think to hell with it, now or nothing and if they get banned oh well.

Totally agree that it's beyond sad when people have to start selling fakes of batteries. Fake rolex, sure at least there's a return on the effort but fake batteries? Especially when it's not as though they're selling them for $5 undercutting the real thing selling at $30. Genuine batteries are only a buck or two more from other vendors. Guess they're hoping to scam stores buying in bulk rather than individuals who only buy a couple at a time.

Imrbatteries seem pretty transparent such as their showing letters from companies verifying changes in product lines so people know what they're getting is reliable. At least that's the impression, I'm sure they'd be called out on it if those type of things were fictitious.
