Ok here is the story i got my first rda tank and had it build yesterday . I guess my ass was a little drunk last night started vaping and well my cotton was burned off on one side !!! I noticed it now due to the bad flavor ( I am fully aware of how stupid this must sound ) all the vape shops are closed so I cant buy the cotton from there. Can i use organic cotton balls to vape?

Might taste cottony for a bit, but no worries. And not everyone gets that flavor.

I use organic cotton balls straight out of the bag...after installing the wicks I drip real well ...I get rid of that "new cotton"
taste by pulsing the switch and blow on the build with the cap off..I do this a couple of times, re-drip replace the cap and take my first hit...works great

1$ for 4 pieces
That Nordstrom link up there is 165 'pieces for $9.50 doing the math that's 41 of the vapes shops 4 packs, mega savings over all. I know its a dollar but that ads up. over time that's a new atomizer.
Not sure what the balls cost but I know sac of balls is way cheaper than the Shiseido. @smacksy can tell ya what he pays for balls.

I have quite a bit of koh jen do, but I have been looking for some stuff a little thicker can you compare the two or are they about the same, and for 9 bucks and free shipping that's a great deal, cotton for fricken days:)
Its about the same, I haven't used kgd in a while, considering I'm on the same pack of this stuff for the last 6months :)

Never really understood what made that stuff special, the Shiseido and balls both lasted just as long and personally I couldn't justify the added expense for a maintenance item.
Either way, you may want to consider getting a bag of cotton balls from rite aide for backup at least. 4 squares of cotton would last me two days, lol

The store bought stuff really isn't all that special. Cotton is pretty much cotton and for the most part will do the same job.
It's the same idea behind bottled water, basically. lol

DakotaS's comment about "cotton is cotton".

There's also a world of difference between buying Evian and say the 88 cent gallons for those of us without potable water at rural properties (or 35 cents at the machines). But that's a different issue.

You know Evian spelled backwards spells naive, but thats just a fact, I know nothing about the cotton I was here because I accidentally bought re buildable coils and I wasnt wondering about the cotton myyself. ( I do understand the point you were making I was just being silly about the name )

FWIW, I carefully unroll the cotton balls, into sheets. I then boil them in distilled water for 5 min. While boiling, I can smell bleach for the first few minutes. It works fine for me for most things. I also used to boil large clearo heads every three days or so, and it seemed to extend their life quite a bit.as long as you don't burn the cotton wick.
