Two builds, one an unsuccessful at twisting some twisted 28g ka1 together with 26g n80 on my Freakshow Mini, and a successful dual parallel on my Velocity with twisted 28g ka1 and 24g ka1. Ohms came out to .12. Can never get the nichrome/kanthal combos to work right.

Good ol HTC One M7 with CyanogenMod camera (it's a little dated now). I don't use any macro mode - just snap it, crop it, apply some lighting effects and way to go!

Nice. Is that a clone or authentic?This is basic compared to most on here. 2 twisted 32 gauge Kanthal wires that I then twisted together. Its a total of 4 wires. Dual 5 wrap at 3 mm for 0.5 ohms in Marquis RDA. 25-40 watts depending on juice.

I don't know if it's the picture, but your center post looks like it's twisted a bit...god I need to get macro for my phone. But this is my first usable fused Clapton 24 g nichrome with 30ka1. .20 ohms

The cotton covers the coil end at the negative post and open at the centre. I have it feeding the gap next to the coil at the open end

Nice! I couldn't figure out in my head how you'd work it so I had to ask [:=
While stripping my wire to make my first SFC build (posted a few days ago) I decided to set aside a length of wire which has spacing between the 32g
this didn't turn out to be all that great nor did it hold up very good. (My apologies for the image quality, must've messed something up whilst fine tuning the lighting effects)
First attempt at a coil with spacing between each wrap
2x 32g/26g 6 wraps ID 3mm 0.3Ω.
I wrapped two Clapton's parallel then rotated until they came apart to achieve equal spacing but that basically went out the window during installation d:=
They wouldn't fire evenly so I removed one, wrapped two more, sperated them, then chose the better of the two (LAWL)
This is just something to get my "build fix" until Friday when I get my very first mech mod and can fire dual SFC's (saved my previous one and will construct another identical one when I get it)

You can order the 3 main sizes 1mm grub screws 2's. And 3's on eBay or Amazon just make sure that you get 5mm long
Nice!!! All the best results i've had are with 36g wraps and above. Every aspect of the coil is dramatically enhanced with the smaller gauge outer wire-so much that it vapes nothing like a coil with large outer wire. Great job on the first build though!!! Enjoy it!
Thanks man! I will defintly have to use a smaller outer wire next time. The heat up time was just to long for me with that thicker wire. Just a quick question. What coil would you recommend for chucking clouds? My buddy conviced me to sign up for our local cloud comp and im just trying to find the perfect coil. Any suggestion?Nice!!! Man, hard to say exactly. If i were to enter one myself i would probably go with 24/38g fused claptons right at about .11 ohms. Always been a great producer for me. You need heat and surface area-and you need to get there safely. I would say parallel 24g nichrome 80, 5 wraps on each side for a simpler version of that. Possibly 6 wraps on each side depending on your inner diameter. Definitely parallel and definitely nichrome 80. 24g is probably gonna give you the best results. Kanthal is not gonna give you enough surface area to produce the density you want because you'll be using less wraps on any build versus the same resistance in nichrome. Hope that helps!!

I personally prefer some spacing myself. For me, I noticed the flavor is very muted with a really tight clean Clapton, but with the spacing, the flavor is phenomenal.

26/40g Fused Claptons on the Phenotype-L atty. Just a simple flavor build to get me through the upcoming work week. Probably my favorite go-to build when i'm not in the mood to think too much. The 40g really works wonders for the flavor, something about the way it traps the juice in the wire just never seems to disappoint me. Sitting on the Sigelei 150 TC box at .16 ohms it's a buttery smooth vape at 85 watts (3.6v).
Got bored so whipped up a parallel coil. 4 wraps of 24g Kanthal running at .22ohms. Like this build a lot!

My first Clapton. 28g kanthal wrapped around 22g kanthal. 4 wraps. Comes in at 0.26Ω
I built it for DIY juice tasting, so I'm leaving it wickless. The 2nd pic shows it positioned close to the deck so I can just tilt it for a bit more juice.

Got lazy while waiting for my SFC's to soak in solution for cleansing and wrapped the outer 32g by hand to fuse two Clapton's (2 parallel 32g's over 1 26g) together
Dual 5 wraps ID 3mm 0.15Ω
Edit: forgot to mention I kept the outermost 32g away from the ends of the leads as they made the finished wire too big to fit in my post holes.
