Just made this and it is amazing! Never tried Halo's, but if it's anything like this it has to be one of their bestsellers! Thank you for this!

How would that taste without FA Oakwood? My supplier doesn't carry it.

Edit : Dang wrong thread.

I use one from Amazon. It has all the features required, and I do really like the bottom tray and the tray covering the scale weighing tray. They protect it well during storage. Like I said, the cutoff timer is the only thing I really don't like. I could not find one without the cutoff timer.

This mix gets a little smoother over time but not much. It is pretty nice shake and vape

I would not go over 20%PG and 4mg in a subtank. In fact I have one at home and I never loved subohming, it takes too much time to get used to the harshness. Also, flavor and VG/PG taste is so overwhelming, if not disgusting. I love my mixes in a regular BVC tank. Maybe you should try the clone in a regular tank...

Sounds like you got it just right! Halo describes it as having "solid throat hit" and "intense flavor". Halo is not known for mild flavoring!

Oh - you've never vaped Halo liquids, have you? This is the kind of hardware they sell: https://www.halocigs.com/e-cigarette.html and that's what their liquids are designed to taste best in. Their liquids are fairly expensive and heavily flavored - and have many fans.

This is funny. I sent an email to the guys at Halo about some of the issues about the juices that some of you guys were talking about the other week ( I just read this thread)

I didn't say this, but Halo might be working on n HVG line.....

I put this stuff (Halo's, not HIC's mix) in my bridgeless and can;t get rid of the residual flavor. Kinda ruins the point of having a bridgeless atty.

I agree with you 10000000% I had a Vertias that kept the residual of Shamrock in it, as much as I love that juice.... One iso bath in 91% and it was all gone :)

I think they are taking the advice from the people from forums and emails and now implementing it in their new products. I dont want to speak out of place, but that is what i gathered from the comprehensive email I got from them .

April 7, 2015: Update: Tried it with the vaperstek nicotine, wow what a difference. Even a 3 weeks old 12% mix doesn't taste as much as a fresh 10% mix with VT nicotine!!
What a difference! Can't believe what I missed. So sweet, and the most important thing: you can get many subtle notes compared to another brand nicotine.

I'm impressed, I have no word to describe this major difference. Can't wait to try my other recipes, I will for sure reduce flavoring percentage in them. Thanks!!!

So I wanted to vape this again:

I have 2x 120 ml bottles of FW candy cane here for DIY-EJUICE, and one old 30ml from ECX. I did not use these flavoring since about 5 months. They all are between 6 and 7 months old. I mixed a clone and did a comparison between it and the Kringle's curse. The clone was unbearably sweet, even at 10%. The peppermint in candy cane was really tamed, and not so "fresh", I mean you get taste of sucralose with a hint of peppermint. I shook the flavorings bottles, and tried my 2 other bottles to see if there was a mistake, and they were the same. I cannot remix a 1:1 clone like I did 6 months ago. I have 2 different batches of VT nic, they all are as clear tasting as they should.

I've come to think that this particular flavor lose it's peppermint potency after some time, and sucralose does not lose it's potency. The mixed Halo bottle did not lose it's peppermint strenght, like my flavors concentrates.

Did someone noticed the same thing ?

You may be able to add some FA Peppermint to prop up the Candy Cane, in finished mixes that is.

Bad enough having to dump out a 10ml or 30ml bottle of old flavoring.

When I first started vaping I loved the pre-mixed MBV Caramel Candy so I ordered a 120ml bottle.
When trying it later it made me gag, tried cutting it and everything, but ended up dumping it.
Also had a 15ml bottle of the same flavoring that I had to dump, just too weird.

yes I already boosted it with some Loranns peppermint(which is my favorite) but i miss the old good and potent candy cane. I will reorder it and put it in the freezer I think.

I remade this about two months ago, and I didn't enjoy it near as much. I thought my taste buds had changed. It never crossed my mind that the candy cane flavor bottle was an issue. Man, I've got a lot of flavor bottles that I'll be worried about since I've been mixing for over six months now

So are you saying that you think the FW peppermint flavoring has sucralose in it?!? I didn't think flavorings had sweeteners in them. Or are you saying the juice you made up has lost flavor and tastes sweeter?? I make this stuff up for my wife, 500ml at a time. I did find that if I left the bottle at room temp by the time she got close to the end of the bottle it definitely lost some peppermint flavor and it was sweeter. I now keep the juice in the refrigerator and this no longer happens.

Yeah, there is no sucralose in FW candy cane. I add 4% TFA peppermint to our mix to bring up the mint bite and 0.5% menthol to bump up the icy factor. The full flavor comes out in about 2 weeks.

I'm starting to think that I should keep the big batches + the flavoring bottles in the refrigerator to slow the steeping process. I might have to go buy a new dedicated one because I have SO MANY flavors haha

If I'd only have a bottle, I would've suspected me being drunk on a night and added sweetener to this candy cane bottle. But I have 3, and cautious like I am with flavoring bottles, it's very unlikely that I added something into these bottles.

I swear there is a sweetener in my 3 bottles of FW Candy cane, maybe not sucralose, but xylitol, stevia, or something like that. It's not because it's not listed under ingredients that it's not there. Maybe the sweetener could be part of the "Natural and artifical flavors" ingredient (wouldn't surprise me from FW).
I keep my flavoring in the basement, in a dark cold place. But after 6 months, the issue happened with 3 bottles. I'm 100% sure there is a sweetener in it, I can detect it easily now that the mint taste has dulled.

This does work perfectly. I have a couple juices that I prefer not steeped and I buy 120ml bottles of them. I keep them in the fridge for months and they just barely steep. I think the fact that the pretty much get no light unless the door is open helps too. I have one door shelf dedicated to juice. The wife didn't like it at first but now that her juice is in there we're all good! LOL!

HIC's Kringle's Curse Clone: So simple to make your own and save some vaping $$. Simple as it is, it took a very long time for me to find the perfect flavoring to match Halo's.

10% Flavor West Candy Cane
optional 1 drop of The Flavor Apprentice Koolada per 5ml of finished juice

Use the Koolada to get the cool effect of Halo's version - or leave it out for a mellower vape with the same flavor.
Shake 'n vape!

(note: FW's history of ingredient disclosure is horrible...then again, so is Halo's.)
Man you should start a e juice line you'd make a killing haha

Nooooo - I'm a huge proponent of DIY!
This one lets you save about $20 per 30ml making it yourself. I see both ingredients in stock at BCV now. Do you DIY?

Halo's flavors are all very heavy on the PG - it's said that Tribecca is 80pg/20vg (I have nothing to back that up though). I made this clone in 50/50 and it's really an exact clone, even at 50/50 - the flavor is dead on.

[off topic kinda]
Tribeca has me puzzled, it's runny in the dropper bottle like a high PG mix, it almost certainly is high in PG but it produces a ton of vapor more like like a high VG, and there's something in it that sets off my smoke alarm almost immediately unless I place a towel under my door, very weird, I went through 3 bottles of Tribeca over Xmas holidays, I'm a fan.

Halo's liquids were high PG to work with their hardware, the Triton top coil clearo and G6 cig-a-like. They are reformulating their more popular liquids in high VG now since they have finally gotten some more modern hardware. I started off with them 2 years ago and that is what got me off the cigs. I've moved on to the joys of DIY, dripping, and squonking, but they will always be a fond memory for me.

This recipe has been my ADV since replying in October. I have made many adjustments to the recipe, like adding menthol, koolada, fruit flavors, but the one thing I added was awesome. FA cookie.

FW Candy Cane 17%
FA Cookie 2%

Adjust as you see fit. Too much cookie and it will become lemony. You may have to fine tune the percentage of candy cane to your liking. The above was my starting point. Since then I'm using 30% candy cane by itself. With cookie, I drop the candy cane to 25%.

Thanks to HIC for cloning this. Saved me tons of $.

I got into DIY just for Krigles Curse, and Twisted Java from Halo.

I have done mixes of

10 FW CC
.5 Koolada
_____
10 FW CC
2 CAPeppermint
.5 Koolada

I will be testing a few others, I also have some peppermint from Nicvape.

I haven't let these sit. But the smell and flavor right after mixing seems dull in comparison to Kringles Curse. I have 3 fresh bottles of the stuff, and the smell doesn't compare. KK has a very cool, menthol hit, but without the menthol taste. Just like a very cool peppermint.

The Koolada doesn't seem to have that coolness smelling it from the bottle. But menthol does, I have some menthol.

Does anyone's mixes have this very cool effect? Any ideas?

This mix is dull, I agree. That's what I'm saying since some time. Halo is much more flavorful and minty than this DIY recipe.

I suspect FW changed the Candy Cane formulation (even if they told me they didn't, by email)
IIRC, a long time ago, my first candy cane bottle was more potent and more "in your face", just like Halo Kringle's curse...

When this recipe was posted, I don't think FA Polar Blast was available in the market.
In my next batch, I'm going to use that.

Or...
To make any minty mix "brisk" and minty (not menthol), add Flavorah Peppermint. Even 0.5% will give you a nice chill. Or you can go a little wild and use it at the major ingredient, like here: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-mentos-pure-white-sweet-mint-gum.371854/ or here: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-dentyne-ice-arctic-chill-gum.360157/. It's potent, not cheap, but worth every dime if you like Halo-type peppermint.
