I had to double hit it just to get a drag. And I vape straight to lung.

Looks good, what method do you use for holding the wires flat? I use 2 dime taped together with the wires sandwiched in between if that makes any sense? Put close to where you start wrapping and slide it along as you go. Takes some practice but it works! Here's a 2x24G N80 fused with 36G N80 in my Kennedy 24!

I actually thought to put the wires in an electrical crimp connector then crimped them flat so they can center in the chuck, then slide a small paperclip along to keep it flat as I go.

That's what I did last night to build those, it was alot easier with the wires being centered from the start. I'm going to try it with swivels next

Yeah I need some swivels too, seems like it makes triple core a lot easier, although I have managed to make them without, just a pain in the ass lol

I haven't had luck with multi cores and swivels in the past, for regular fused claptons though it takes 2 minutes per foot using the swivels.

I haven't tried it, I'll have to give it a go and see how I feel about it. I need to order some kidney puncher ribbon and revisit staple builds. I had some temco(garbage) and it led to nothing but frustration, couldn't get the bend out of it to save my life.

Just crimping them flat with nylon tipped pliers every inch or two works well
Ive tried, I can't seem to keep them flat that way. Off topic, how long does it take you to do say six inches of alien wire? I'm curious if you always have to go crazy slow.
This took me about 20 mins to do half a foot and still has a couple screwups.

Just depends, at first it took forever. Once you get the angle and pressure down it goes so much faster because you can go faster on the drill without mistakes

Put a build in my friends TFV4 for him. This is more of an experiment than anything, but it turned out pretty nice in the end.

Dual 28/36 fused claptons, 7 each wrap on 2.5mm.

It looks great but how did you end up wicking it? Through the middles and then off to the side?

Yeah exactly. Airflow would have been too restrictive otherwise. Ohms came to 0.3, and he's been running at 85W or 5V all day without issue. Airflow is a bit tighter vs the quad coil head, but it's pretty nice still.

Got a petri styled Atty in, did a small staged fused. If you haven't used the Atty it has 2 post except 2 holes per post. Pretty cool.

You can kinda see the fused has its own hole as does the staging wire.

Quick question for the more experienced coil twisters and whatnot...
Can I have a couple few recommendations for an atty to build these coils on.
Obviously I need something with bigger holes and thicker posts.
Thanks in advance.
I have the doge v2 and a hand full of others and I keep falling back on my twisted messes absolutely love it with the space to build on huge post holes the vapor quality it's my go to rda

Yea they deff are I have had issues with mine almost like vapor quality I guess you could call it like when you fire it the vapor is so poor that you barely get anything out of it and the builds right the wick is right cuz I could throw the same build in my twisted messes rda and have no problem

Revisited an older concept. Every now and again i like to mess with twisted builds because i always seem to forget how well they perform

These are a single strand of .8mm ribbon, with 40g Alien wraps, twisted with a 24/38g clapton. I was mildly upset because my alien wrapping was flawless until i twisted it and they bent quite a bit. Whatever though, they still vape wonderfully haha.

Dual coils came out to a .15, cranked up to 100W they were highly satisfying, as are many twisted builds. They were a little slow to fire on the mech box though unfortunately.

So I've been wondering... How do I know what size to wrap the initial Clapton to wrap any given number of plies/width of ribbon? Say, your single ply 0.8 vs. a 4 ply 0.5mm? Or is it just trial and error like when learning how much to uncoil the Clapton wire to form an alien?

First try at a fused Clapton. 34/26 Kanthal wrapped on 2.5mm mandrel coming in at .40 ohms. I don't have any swivels yet so just had to let it spin in my hand like a normal clapton but I only had one spot mess up on me and was able to cut it out.

Twisting that thing flat without padded pliers was a lot of fun.

You can more or less alien wrap anything as long as it's 3x the width of the initial clapton. I used 28g for the .8mm and it went right on beautifully. The .8mm ribbon is such a stubborn wire that it actually claptons quite easily with any high gauge wire. You could also try something like this:
89a34fa77fed6fc60dcef78ee5c98608.jpg

If you stack a few strands and wrap them flat for a low profile alien (or low profile clapton) they actually vape really well. This coil is 3 strands of .8 & 40g. The ribbon in the core has an interesting effect on the flavor :D

here's a coil a really like doing on regulated devices! twisted 26 claptoned with ribbon wire. when you wrap the coil, the ribbon opens up and makes little "cups" and it really helps hold the juice/flavor.
