New atomizer tastes awful

Hello
I'm pretty new to the vaping world, but I'm having some difficulty with my atomizer.
I've noticed that my vape leaks a lot (I'm using the Aspire Nautilus) so I've cleaned it out and i'm opening the largest air vent(?) as well as taking smaller drags when inhaling, as per all the literature I can find online Despite this, it still tends to leak a fair bit every other day.
But today I cleaned it out, replaced it with a fresh, new atomizer and it just tastes awful. Like burned copper and death. I thought maybe it'd need a few drags to really break it in or something, but it's still pretty awful and I dont know what to do about it. I really don't want to replace the atomizer over and over; this was supposed to help me quit smoking and save money but at this rate im going to spend a fortune.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks

Also are these genuine coil heads and atty or is it a clone? I have had pretty bad luck with knock off coil heads. They tend to be bad in batches. There could also be other reasons like your wattage and if your priming your coils right.

Are you priming the new coils first by placing a few drops of liquid on the cotton before putting it in the nautilus? If you don't do that you'll burn the cotton, and the coil will be useless.

Welcome to VU.

First for the leaking every other day. I see your in Canada. Tanks will tend to flood if they get cold and then warm up. Mine tries to flood every time I come in from the cold. I'm not sure if that is going on with yours and other things can cause leaking but it's a start..

Like others said, it sounds like your coil didn't get primed when you switched coils. If you drop a couple three drops down into the coil and then wait about ten minutes after filling the tank for the wicking to pick up the juice it should taste good the first pull. Look for a bubble to float to the top after a vape. If there is a bubble, the tank is working right. If no bubble, cover the air hole and blow into the drip tip. make a bubble.
