Bad Breath

Now i really dont get it.

I vape 50/50 tobacco or fruit......bad breath
I vape 70VG:30PG bad breath

I am allergic for PG. Getting something like chest pain and back pain. Vaped 50/50 it was gone but still bad breath.

Plus i am drinking a lot of water. Nothing helps. Went to dentist cleaning my teeth etc. After 3 days my bad breath went back.

I really thinking giving up and go back to analogs.

But i'm really tired of the smell of cigarettes. I normally smoke 7-10 cigs. Maybe its not much on a day but i prefer vaping.

Can anyone plz tell me what I can do.

I assume the dentist you went to said you were clear of gingivitis or any other sort of disease? Those things can cause the bad breath. Try backing off the tobacco flavors maybe. Perhaps that flavor isn't helping. I don't really know what else to tell you unless you explain more.

I suggest you carry around mints or gum. I have been vaping over 5 years and I have never once heard anyone complain that their vapor or e liquid is giving them bad breath. Not to mention the insanity to even contemplate going back to smoking cigarettes ( which gives you 100x worse smelling breath, fingers, clothes, hair, et cetera ) because you think vaping is the cause of your halitosis. I Highly, Highly doubt it. Its something else..... I think you may have a more serious condition that I'm willing to bet has nothing at all to do with vaping. Google "Tonsil stones"

Can you please tell us what mod, tank, e-liquid your using and describe the odor? some e liquids do not smell pleasant when vaporized, IMO..... I for one hate anything that has honey in it because the vapor smells bad to me but it has little to no effect on your breath. Mints and menthols will actually give you a similar effect to mints and improve your breath if anything. This is honestly a strange post but I'm willing to try and help you and I'm sure a lot of others are interested also.

My father has had terrible breath for the past decade. He doesn't smoke or vape. He takes care of teeth and visits his dentist periodically but the smell is always there. Maybe possibly something going on with your stomach or digestive tract?

Yes also forgot to mention that also! Great point acids in your stomach that come up can also cause bad breath and tooth decay. Which may also cause the bad breath

If it hasn't been long since you stopped smoking, you could still be dealing with repercussions.

My ex-father-in-law had terrible sinus issues, his breath was bad over that.

Basically overall it could be loads of things. It could be your diet also. Just to name another thing that could be a problem lol.

I have also been tested for diabetes. Nothing there. Because diabetes can also make bad breath.

I think i will try 100%VG. Hope it will work.

are you brushing, flossing, brushing your tongue, using listerine, and doing all 4 at least 2x a day? Are you eating any foods that cause bad breath (e.g. curry, coffee, garlic, tuna, horseradish, kombucha)?

I don't know if this applys, but one of my local vape shops has a peach flavor that tastes great but fills the room with a smell like a ferminting pile of gym socks. I can't see a juice like that helping your breath...

I've never had bad breath from vaping. We have one shop here in nebraska though, that does give me chest pains on any juice they make, and also makes me feel groggy. I've never heard of bad breath, there definitely is a different issue going on here IMO.

I brush and floss every day. My breath is fine, as soon as I Vape a bunch and walk in the room my wife says my breath changes and has an odor. I can attest to this issue although she's the only one that's mentione it

Tongue scraper is key. I rake my tongue all the time. Even brushing my tongue doesn't do it. Get a scraper. Any sort of milk product or beer gets my tongue funky, even cream I put in coffee. It's gonna give you that clean mouth feeling. I brush, floss, then scrape and use some mouth wash. Girlfriend loves me for it

I vape 70VG:30PG bad breath

Plus i am drinking a lot of water. Nothing helps. Went to dentist cleaning my teeth etc. After 3 days my bad breath went back.

If you had pain problems with a 70/30, which went away when you switched to 50/50, you are not allergic to PG. You increased the PG amount yet alleviated the symptoms. If anything, it would point to problems with VG, but I doubt that is the issue either.

Drink water frequently. One of the most frequent causes of halitosis (bad breath) is dehydration/dry mouth. As stated by others above, brush your teeth and scrape your tongue regularly. Use an antiseptic mouthwash to reduce the bacteria causing the odor.

If the problem persists, see a doctor. Halitosis can be associated with respiratory tract infections, infections of the tonsils and/or adenoids, chronic sinus infections, diabetes, chronic acid reflux, liver and/or kidney issues, and more.

I doubt its from vaping but if you think so whatever, I could tell you I would rather think vaping gave me bad breath than dying of lung cancer...just sayin.

Yup....it works....been doing it for quite some time before I even started vaping. It was one of those "things talked about around the campfire at a family reunion" and I agreed to give it a try. I can't complain.....but my dentist sure does!

You may not produce the good bacteria anymore that the majority of people have to neutralize the bad bacteria in you mouth.
Use an oral probiotic like S. salivarius K12 and M18 . Use probiotics to balance the oral cavity and prevent an overgrowth of the odor-causing bacteria involved in halitosis.

OP: "vaping gives me bad breath so I think I'm just gonna go back to smoking cigarettes"

....WHAT?
Yea I did this, smoked for 3 months again after 6 months quit vaping. Just started back vaping yesterday. Only bad breath comes in vaping for me, only negative point. I could use a good point of advice for prevention. Merry Christmas y'all btw

Stay hydrated, give it some time. I would hope that it would pass. A lot of toxins leave the body when you quit smoking. Time might take care of that.

Personally I think people who smoke have the worst bad breath ever, like the folks down at the casino smoking their nasty smelling cigarettes... They smell like a dirty ashtray, especially their breath! Lololol
Merry Christmas..

the bad smell is caused by the glycol and glycerin that is in the e liquid , cause sugar in general when exposed to the mouth it brings the kitton bodies ,which is produced even in cases of diabetes , which is acidic , thats why your mouth becomes acidic and smelly like the diabetic patients ,and vaping may lead to gingivitis or gum cavities caused y the change in the normal ph in the mouth .
that doesnt mean vaping is bad , it just means that vaping is like taking a spoon of sugar and keeping the sugar in your mouth for too long .
some new technology in the toothpaste field started inviting toothpaste that neutralize the ph and get rid of the kiton bodies like (colgate - sugar neutralizer )
am a vaper and that was going to make me stoping vaping , but this new tech solved it for me .

http://www.colgate.co.uk/app/Colgat...umCavityProtection/UK/EN/Home/Technology.cwsp

blaming everything on cutting of the cigs isnt true , its just a little factor ,but the vg pg is the true cause +the extra heat that is in the vape

If you are allergic to PG then why are you vaping it at all? And very possibly you just have Halitosis which is not related to vaping at all. How do you determine by the way when you vape a certain percentage that your breath is bad? Do you have someone that like checks it after you change the percentage?

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

People allergic to PG can still vape using 100% VG or VG diluted with distilled water.
The variety of VG based flavors is much more limited though.

You did not read my reply carefully re-read. The question is why one would continue vaping PG if they were alergic. The post says they are using percentages of PG but they are alergic... It makes no sense understand?

Clean or replace your coils and your wick. Clean it all. Problem solved.

The following statements are my opinion ONLY and NOT to be used to replace a Doctors opinion. I am NOT a Doctor, but I do play one on T.V.. :) ALWAYS consult a Physician if you are having medical issues.

If you're noticing moderate to extreme dryness, especially with your tongue, you might be having an issue with the PG in your e liquids. Some Vapers experience "cotton mouth", dryness of the eyes, etc.. Try using e juices with a higher VG ration (like an 80/20 mix).

Here's a video that goes into this subject a little deeper.

Hopes this helps!
