You just have to dedicate and rip away, trusting and hoping that the massive amount of air will water down the vape.

I am amazed how coil builders do their craft.
While shopping online I came across a ready made framed staple coil. I had no idea what was involved, though I was stunned by the price tag. Now I understand why it was so much.
Just like buying ready made e-liquid before making my own, I may try a ready made clapton coil to find out what the fuss is all about.
This is a very nice how-to video even though I don't have the patience to make them at this time..

I am waiting for my new 50W mod in the vapemail. I'm currently stuck using 2 dying ego's and a USB 510 thingy while the egos charge. Sad I know. I will stop by both sites for some coil porn when I have something to power the newly wrapped coils with.

Good luck, There will be ALOT of prep even with a Motorized system. The ribbon will need fixing here and there, You need to make sure it doesnt twist or bunch up while wrapping, Its not a easy build and I dont see how it could be any easier with a tool to help. Too many pieces to deal with and make sure they are properly aligned.

I can almost imagine it now. A free feeding kind of clamp that holds the wires side by side supported by ball bearings. You could even use printer parts, rc motors and other parts like a steering knuckle with the wheel bearings in it too. My mind is
Going crazy with idea visuals. I almost wanna try it out myself now.

My first swivel was with RC parts...

Th

That's dope af. It must spin very freely. That from an associated rc10? Rustler? Hahahah
Slash 4x4 actually, I use RPM parts on the truck and those were left over stock parts. I works well and with the joint for the end gives options to what way wires can be fit and drawn from it also. Thin flat slits for flat wires and wide wholes for round wires and your can do both but keep them separate. I can also adjust the angle of the swivel with the turnbuckles :D

This looks awesome. I've decided since my 4 kids are driving me broke, my vape hobby is going to be #1 for the summer. I can at least afford some wire and swivels and things. I'm actually shocked how much difference it made simply from going from standard single wire to twisted wire in my Goliath. It's a HUGE difference, just with twisted. Can't wait to try some more advanced designs once my Griffin and Tsunami get here!

Sweet build, but as many of the comments of the video pointed out, it is a very low ohm build for a mech tube mod... It's only in the last few days I've been warned away from doing a build like this on a tube mech mod.. a parallel mech mod should put you closer the safety zone, so I guess I dont understand why ppl don't do that more frequently.. Question though, would using kanthal bring it up closer to a .2 build, which would be safer on a tube mech mod?

be wary about using a drill on it's side like that. it puts a huge amount of strain on the tendons in the thumb. the last thing you want is to be on the D/L list like me from a RSI in the thumb :( i'm slowly getting back into the game, but once i feel that *tweek*, i'm done for the day.

i have a new drill that sits flat on the battery so that i can start using my finger, as the tool is designed to be used.

fair warning kiddies.

Glad I read this. I already have a vise for my drill (using a magnet for swivels) but still press using my thumb. Gotta change it now. Thanks for the heads up.

My current solution is a duck tape special.

I use the twist on extension handle that can with the drill. It is set t an angle that allows the drill to sit balanced on the table, resting on the battery and the handle. I then jury rigged a fangdaggle bar with epoxy, ducktape, and baling wire, that hits the trigger switch.

IN ACTION... I hold onto the drill by the chuck lightly with my left hand and by sliding/rotating my hand I manipulate the trigger bar, and control the speed of the drill. I have great control of alignment and pressure on the core wire and my thumb is completely relieved of any strain.

It is ugly as sin,but it works for me. A foot pedal would be the ultimate dream.

Just a tip to keeping your wire together while its spinning or rigging it up to a swivel or other setup.

While you have your wire together take some Ribbon strips (2"- 3" long) and loosley wrap it around your wire, afterwards pinch it with nylon pliers....dont pinch it too hard but enough so it holds the wires form and still can slide if needed. Make a few of these and space the out 3-5 inches apart. Keep one around a half inch away from where your claptoning and slide it as you go. This will give you stability and wire structural support as you wrap, it can also let you wrap your wire tighter then normally....I use these "Ribbon Sliders" for just about any build.

Another tip, if you have a wire like below or similar and need it to stay together at the end so you can use your hands for other things have some hot wax around and dip the end into it and let it cool....this will "glue" everything in place and it isnt as toxic as glues or other methods...

My method of attaching wire that wont fit in a swivel..to a swivel, I did go overboard and you wont need anywhere near as much wire on yours...:

I've tried the ribbon technique with mixed results. I think crimping seems to be the key. Pliers on order.......

I've been off the drill off for a spell. There is some serious skill techniques that have advanced. Good thing i got a paper crimper and a Goon ;)

Yea the nylon Pliers are a MUST, they give a bit and will much where it has to so you get a better crimp for what you need...using something like Toothless pliers will only crimp it until it hits a surface under the ribbon or destroy it and whats underneath. The Nylon will much and push the ribbon around and into holes and other places...like a metal glove
