Wait.. Wait... So my thread was killed? Speaking of killed my wife gave me a Taurus 9mm for Christmas. PT709 slim. It's very Glock-like but sounds like a damn cannon. I quite like it.

She's a keeper!

Yeah Yeah. So am I reading that there is squirreliness with 1.08?
There's been some complaints, but someone suggested that charging the batteries via the micro USB might be causing some of the issues. I'll be using my Nitecore D4 Digicharger from now on, just in case. Version 1.07 is working good enough for me.

I've got 1.08 loaded but I've only used the port for upgrades. I weighed in on the whole charging thing earlier. I'm leary of charging 18650's via a charge port. But that's just me.

Why would charging through the usb cause issues?? Source please.

I don't know why. It was just some guy suggesting it; not an authoritative source. I think he just thought he recognized an emerging pattern among people having issues. That's all.

That cuboid box mod is really tempting... $34 bucks is ridiculously ridiculous...

I've charged a couple different box mods via USB port with no issues, like the Zero mod clone with YiHi SX300 and currently with the RX200. Someone in this forum pointed out that the RX200 only pulls 1 amp when charging, meaning the batteries get about 330 milliamperes each. (From what I can remember that was stated earlier in the thread)

So, for a definitive answer, are Samsung 25Rs okay to use with the Reuleaux RX200? The specs recommend 25 amp batteries, and the 25Rs are rated at 20 amp continuous.

I probably won't need anything over 150 watts, but who knows? I want to be able to run some bulky coils in it. I have a parallel mech, but it really falls short on the ramp up time on, say, a framed staple coil. Or even a dual alien build using lower gauges for the core wires.

I have been charging mine at night via the usb and have had no issues besides it takes forever...in a pinch I have batteries ready I just don't feel like removing the sleeve if I don't have to.

That was me, I use a 750 ma charger so I charge at even less. Gives me a safety margin, but takes a while to charge. I don't always USB charge, If the batts are lower than 70-75%, they come out.

According to Ohms Law, power (wattage) = voltage X current (amps). So with only 20 amps continuous discharge (not peak), multiply the maximum voltage of the RX200 (which is 9 volts), you can probably safely use the Samsung 25Rs up to 180 watts. Personally I wouldn't go above 150 watts (for "head room") if I was running those batteries myself. This is also assuming you are running a coil (or coils) that is .45 ohms resistance or below.

Thanks OneBadWolf, I didn't want to dig through the thread (especially after the merge!).
I would do the same thing and pull the batteries out if it is really low, since charging it in the mod would take forever and pop them into a 4 bay charger.
I tend to charge via USB every night, so it is usually a non-issue.

Hail Tyger, at least you jumped in with both feet.
(Belated nuptial congrats BTW, all my best to you both)

I was about to assure Huck that nothing I posted was directed at her... the higher ups who should be overseeing this sort of mundane forum management.
Or rather directing their appointed mods on how to handle operations.
These puppies have been running for decades now (I should know, I was there)
... it's not rocket surgery. :D
We are going as fast as we can, pick a number oh wise one

That's not how you calculate battery current on a vw mod. Watt setting divided by BATTERY voltage gets you battery current. Build resistance and output voltage have nothing to do with battery current on a vw mod.

So..... Evolve. Still holding out for $80 for the chip alone?

At these prices, its only a matter of time before some hardcore bad ass uber geeks from hell, reverse engineer the firmware, and write a command interperter to intergrate the RX with Lightscribe.

I'm talking about men who will never experience female companionship, or sunlight, or emerge from their parents basements for any extended periods of time. The mad monks of microchip mayhem. They dream in binary, and could solder surface mount components before they could ride bicycles. OK, they will never ride bicycles, but Evolve, take heed...... Your pricing model realy needs to...... um...... Evolve.

Exactly why I switched my order from FT to there... Now I just have to make sure I don't scratch it before the sleeves get here from FT in a month lol

As I sit here and blow smoke like a Navaho Chief with V1...lol...

Damn... how much is a bottle of juice?

They are 11.99 for a 15 mil. So you figure it's like getting free shipping and a 6 dollar 15 mil...win, win

Can any of you guys post a pic of the new UI after the latest update?
My RX200 is working fine right now, and if the update is just for a Font Change...I'd like to see it before I update.
(I'm currently on 1.07)
