I just updated my g2 with the new 2.4.4 software and am wondering about the new setup. You can now just select kanthal but it doesn't seem to work as well as the setting I had on xxx mode before the update. In xxx mode now I don't know what to set it to as its now a percentage as opposed to a tcr number. Any help would be appreciated.

How does it vape on kanthal TC?
On the original software you had to play around with the tcr number until you find a setting that worked. I had it working perfectly. It does actually do a good job at temp controlling kanthal. I think I have it working pretty good on the new software since I posted earlier. Maybe a little fine tuning. If you are into temp control this mod is pretty good but be prepared to change settings to get it running perfectly.

Good to hear you're getting good results with it @Rfarty with some fine-tuning. I have one on it's way to me -- should get here on Friday (if USPS tracking can be trusted). Looking forward to trying it out.

What temp do you vape it at? Does it have that metallic kanthal taste?

I got mine from VaporCube: http://www.vaporcube.com/

The only other vendor that I was able to find the G2 at was Cloudy Vapor (http://thecloudyvapor.com/) but they only had the "limited edition" model and I wanted the regular one. The only difference between the two is the case design.
That's exactly what I had in mind, also saw it from vaporcube, thanks.

Im glad some people either saw a few of my post the last few days or Twisted420's Review...
LOL, I think I saw both but I'm just a guy with too much free time and vaping is my only hobbit at the moment.

Oh to buy or not to buy.....what is the chance these will be dropping in price from the $130 mark? Or should I just say fuck it and pull the trigger?

I am almost to the point of having a different mod for every day of the month.... @africamonk , I think we need to start a vapers anonymous group...

The Normal G2 is 125 I beleive and with the 5% discount on the side of the home page its $122...
They have updatable Firmware thats ften updated so its not like your buying it and then something better may release afterwards. Also for what it offers...find me another Kanthal TC box that works with all the other features and settings it has, Im sure if you could it would be much much higher in price.

I buy atleast 2-3 Mods and 2-4 RTA's/Tanks every Check I get...Ill tell you what works and whats worth the price...I compare and review almost everything I get and I wont suggest things that dont work or I didnt like 100%.
Most people that have listened to what I said to buy have had the same experience when they buy it, no regrets and no problems

Ok, I'm sold!
Well...That was easy :D:D:D

In all seriousness though the Hohm Wrecker G2 is a great deal for a decent price. It has TC modes for every type of wire and wires that no other device can TC as of right now. It also has TCR modes to set your own options for TC. It output 151w RMS and can fire down to .007, the lowest firing devices so far can only fire down to .05 OHms, that itself is impressive. The Battery Contacts are beefy, functional and dont look to be able to tear wraps, ehich is nice. The Firmware updating USB port is hidden under the Battery Door for Protection. The screen isnt overly large or small and is clean and clear. The Menu system may be too much for some but with the newest update it is much more streamlined for new users. The Case of the mod has been proven (check youtube reviews) to take a beating and this mod should last more then the time you will ever use it.
for all of this for 120-130 is a good deal, today a Snow Wolf/Early Sigilei's can still be bought for the same price on many sites..

I am not a Fan of the Sex Symbols and wish they only used the Ohmega Symbol if any at all but I can see past them.

Just a heads up, I just got off the phone with the guys at vaporcube (super cool dudes), their confirmation emails go directly to gmail spam for some reason, so make sure to check that!

They are working on shipping all the orders placed last night and today, said they will all go out this afternoon! :)

Dodger blue is going to look sick with my gold arctic v8, rose gold herk+ and rose gold crown!!

Hope the G2 is better than the original, mine is a piece of shit even for the $70 I paid for it. As far as tough goes, mine fell out of my hand once and broke the battery post inside.
I could have gotten it fixed, but since had to send it back the same day I got because it wouldn't work I wasn't feeling it any more. And it needs strong full batteries or it won't fire.

Ill let you know when both of mine arrive..I got both G2 versions so if its one or the other I will post my results. I didnt like the first one as it was a over priced Sigilei basically...This new one is much better, updatable and TC for everything and more options then you'll ever need.

I wouldnt ever recommend using anything other then some LG HE2/4's HB2/6's or Samsung 25R's in a device that you use over 100w in Series...

I got the blue too

I was tempted by the blue and the red, but went with the orange. I figured, this is not a sleek looking mod so, if you’re going to go ugly, might as well go full-on ugly. Bring on the day-glow orange!

Got mine in the mail yesterday as well. So far so good, but I’ve only been using it in wattage mode mostly with the EHPro Bachelor tank (which has been an outstanding tank). Zero complaints about wattage performance. Planning on updating the firmware and taking some Kanthal on a temp control spin soon.

It’s more comfortable in hand than I thought it would be. Granted, it still could use some more rounding of the edges, but it’s not at all uncomfortable to use. Nice button action and the screen, while small, is very clear.

Hey bud, does your battery door have any wobble or play in it? Mine does and I am trying to deal with vapor cube on it. They said it was my batteries (sony vtc 4's) or the ribbon not being installed far enough; however neither of these resolved the issues. The right magnet on top as well as bottom are recessed further than the opposite side, leading me to believe that is the main culprit; however that doesn't really account for the side to side or up and down play with the door itself.

Was hoping to hear from you or others who have received theirs to see if they are having similar issues. If so I am trying to determine if I can live with it or whether to send it back...At this price I don't think I am being to picky to expect a tighter tolerance, I mean even my ipv3 li has better tolerances...

I appreciate you letting me know when you get a chance.

Send it my way and let me test it out to confirm, since I don't have one yet. That will save me time on buying one myself. :p;)

The search for the perfect mod continues.

It I press on the door and move my finger there's a very, very small amount of wiggle both up/down and side-to-side. It's really minor and you have to be pressing on the door firmly to get it to happen. There's no rattle in use or if I shake the mod hard. In fact, I only noticed the wiggle after I read your message and tested it out by pressing on the door. Does your door have a lot of play to it?

there is a decent side to side movement, and the wobble is diagonal from the corner where the magnet is recessed. These aren't major issues, but a bit annoying considering the price tag...

good to know. I could probably pull out the magnet and reset it, but really don't want to deal with it. I am going to send it back for a replacement.

Saw the following video that was just posted by HohmTech as a demonstration of temp control on Kanthal. To me it seems to be dry hit prevention rather than actual temp control. Wish there were more specific details as to settings – going to have to wait for P Busardo’s review that should be coming up in a few days for an actual usage tutorial.

Its more then Dry Hit prevention and it is a working temp control. Ive used it myself.
