Been really racking my brain and searching on the best flavorings or brands to order yada yada as most in this section have and all have gotten similar responses on subjective tastes etc. and it still worries me im going to end up buying a bunch of stuff im not happy with so here's what im going to do....

Using eliqudrecipies.com has been great and I found if I go to the flavorings list and click on the "recipes" tab it organizes flavorings by the most used in all recipes on the website. At this point I know the most popular ones that are probably going to end up in at least a few of my mixes if not hopefully a good majority of them...... Im hoping maybe this helps some others who are kind of scratching their head making the next DIY order

Also not saying this is the best method but if you have any other tips, it's always appreciated!!

Sounds like a good plan.

I find a couple of recipes I like the sound of from say HIC write down the ingredients then work out how many flavours they need then I buy them based on which ones are used more than once!

I love my coffee vapes and now have 6 or 7 made up mostly HIC recipes most have similar ingredients so it wasn't hard to do. Only 2 I'm not so keen on :)

Next month I've whittled it down to 4 or 5 recipes and I need 7 or 8 flavours FA custard is one of them :) hope that makes sense.

I was reading through flavor notes in ELR and found an HIC(pro_vapes I think? Hopefully same HIC!!) one on FA's Cream Fresh that said this is a flavor EVERY DIY-er needs in their inventory......Does he not have a compiled list of ALL of the DIY-ers must-haves on this site somewhere??!! IF SO HIC WHY NOT LOL!!!?? We wanna know which ones you gotta, JUST GOTTA have!![/QUOTE]

SWEEEET!!! THANKS

I don't know who you go through to get your flavorings, but when I started I found myfreedomsmokes.com had a lot of flavors from each company and the main thing is that they have them in small sizes that they are $3-$4, which is great to get a taste for them without having to drop $10-15 for 4oz. Just a suggestion depending on where you are shopping, I don't really go to them anymore unless I want to try a new flavor on the cheap.

Yes, same HIC. The reference is to Pure Vapes, as source for small samples of FlavourArt flavorings which allows a new DIYer to try a number of different flavorings without spending too much (which is also the case at MamaJ's). HIC (HeadInCounds) has asked that his recipes not be posted elsewhere but some people ignore his request so his work shows up at ELR, reddit and elsewhere. VU is HiC's home base now.

Amen,Sister! Testify! :D

Yeah, many of us followed HIC and other experienced DIYers to VU from elsewhere. I believe the wealth of knowledge that's now available here regarding home-crafted e-liquids to be unparalleled.
Definitely and I am sure that all the newbies on here like me appreciate every little bit of knowledge.

I like http://www.eliquidmart.com/ for their 5 ml samples sizes of Flavour Art and Capella which are $1.79 each at this time. I also like Wizard Labs for their 8 ml size flavors of TFA, Cap and INW.
One can read tons of reviews on flavors as I do too, but until you taste them yourself, you won't ever really know for sure if it's your flavor.
The reviews I dislike are the ones without any details. "It's the best I've ever had, just buy it". Compared to what? Fun ones are " I mixed it at 50% and it still tastes like crap". LOL

At this point I know the most popular ones that are probably going to end up in at least a few of my mixes
I like your plan and will take a gander at it.

I started DIY with an order from wiz labs and got a bunch of 8 ml viles and it was nice to get a smaller sample of them but OMG CLEANING DROPPERS AND SYRINGES ON A CONSTANT BASIS MADE ME NOT WANT TO MIX AT ALL!!! The squeeze bottles are where its at for sure but fighting those little glass viles just aint worth it to me.....Not sure how they come from eliquidmart but if its in viles they can keep em haha. Reviews are good sometimes but someone new to it isnt always gonna know if the review is from some idiot who messed up mixing it, or a pro. I found that trying to research each flavor was extremely time consuming too although I do learn from it, just gotta read all kinds of random stuff to get there.....

This order was great it has worked out very nice so far!!! I forgot a few things but have been able to make and almost perfect some good recipes I have been trying to make. THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!! I am totally addicted to DIY......

If you are looking to make a flavor purchase and wonder where to start this is a great method. If you are looking to buy a particular type of flavor like "marshmallow" just search marshmallow in flavor listing on ELR and then click on recipes to sort by recipes that use the flavoring. The most popular marshmallow will be at the top and most likely will not be bad or it wouldnt be in so many recipes. OR......If you want you can search by the abbreviation such as FA or CAP and click recipes to find out the most used in recipes from your favorite brand(s)......Plenty of ways to search then sort by recipes to find out what is most widely used. I am sure its not a flawless system but defitely a good one for new DIYers having trouble deciding. The thing is I dont wanna end up with a bunch of rejects laying around that I wont use and I think this process helps weed them out.....and find the ones people normally pick for their recipes!!

I started with Wizard Labs too and didn't mind all the cleaning as I was fired up about exploring DIY. Bottles with droppers are taking over my 8 ml vials stock. I still buy the 8 ml size at WL to try a new flavor or a different brand of a flavor.
I tend to choose the dropper bottles for a quick and easy mix, but if I'm in a quest for making a killer new flavor then I don't care how much cleaning afterwards is needed.

I also am a bit clumsy and have a fear of tipping one over or one of the kids knocking into my desk and it going flying....and everything smelling like that flavor forever lol. Also with the squeeze bottles I dont have to set aside too much time to mix, I can squirt the drops in a 30 ml beaker then pg/vg and the only cleanup is the beaker itself and im done. I think wiz labs has 5 of those droppers for the 8 ml bottles for a couple bucks though, just not starting with much to invest in DIY at the moment. I went to ECX because it was cheaper but smallest size is 10 ml so youd be stuck with more, but for the same price on some (like TPA is 1.50 per 10 ml.) I know what you mean about finding that specific note in a flavor and wanting to try all the brands to get what you want. I also have only made orders of 65$ or more to get free shipping with both places to save money there as well....I was guessing best thing to do is just compile a list and make an order all at once. I dont want to end up pouring too much into this as it is just a hobby right now and not generating income. However I am all about saving and I am not sure wiz labs is the cheaper route?? Maybe they have 8 ml of other flavors for cheaper I am not sure but if I need to buy droppers as well then Id be spending more anyway IDK

I love coffee too! I did look around for HIC's recipes but it looks like he took down some of them. Is there any way you'd share them, please!

Here is what I do, I log into bull city vapor and I leave my shopping cart open. Whenever I hear about something that a lot of people like, or I watch Waynes videos from DIYORDIE, I just pull up the site and add the flavoring to my cart. Right now my cart has about 40 dollars worth of flavorings that he has personally recommended, or that I have read a lot of positive reviews from a number of people. I don't have anything in there that I just selected on a whim because every time I do that, it turns out to be some flavor that sucks. LOL

I still managed to have one or two that ended up being last minute switch decisions because ECX was out then I finished my shopping cart at BCV

I've lost orders doing this before, so be cautious if it sits too long. I started wish listing things instead. It's not just at BCV, but other sites, too. Welcome to VU, btw

I made a text document wish list on my desktop and edit as needed.
My carts have been emptied out more that once also.

Usually I end up buying everything before it can get deleted. That's probably why I'm always spending too much money.
