I have started dabbling in the tank world, but you know, it makes me real nervous keeping my entire supply of juice in a glass container on top of my mod.

Indeed...I've never broken my squonk bottles, but I've broken a few tanks in the past.

Great idea Henry Etta.....:)
Oh... and thanks, BTW!
It's really a big part of why I don't hang out over here as much. The "Liquid Feed" section over on ECF isn't super active, but it is a good resource for people, especially those looking to get into squonking. And seeing all the familiar folks over hear all cramped in one little thread... we are bigger than one thread!

:D..........Indeed...I think I have about 20 squonkers now. If more folks understood the rational behind using squonkers, a lot more people would be buying them and scrapping the tanks.

Squonkers tend to be more expensive than other setups, but the flavor is worth every penny. No leaks, no worrying about dry hits, it doesn't get any better.

It would be really neat to have a whole bottom feeders section... right now there's one thread. Different threads for mech BF, and regulated BF, and BF attys, and a pics thread, and a modders thread, and, and, and...
Ditto!

I was in love with my Reos until I discovered regulated mods - now I can't go back, no matter how much I wish I could:sad:

i think the Theorem, Avocado , Moonshot and the SXK Corolla are trying to be a 'bottom feeder' tank style....i like it,, it makes sense to me,, i chose the SXK,,,,,,,,few videos on it ... as in reviews. but it had 'fewer moving/other parts',,,, the K.I.S.S system at work :)

the theorem was my second choice,, but i will wait to see what else pops up..even though i wanted a very small tank,, i wouldnt mind going up to a 6ml+/-

the moonshot was eliminated because of the spinning deck and i dont like chuf style drip tips,,i want to use my own.

the avocado was eliminate because of the baffle system= wasnt sure if i would like it or hate it,, and i didnt want to wait around to see if it degraded over time.

Maybe! The last thing I tried in one of the Reos was a 0.3 ohm dual coil build in a velocity mini, but quite frankly I got more from my Crown, let alone the Boreas.

Catfish is making DNA 200 squonkers....they should be ready in a few weeks. Can't wait to get my hands on a couple. They look similar to the Sunbox mods.

I must have 50 bottom fed attys, most obtained through Catfish or the classies....damn I just love the flavor you can get from these incredible attys without dripping. The latest purchase was the "Maker" atty....it's a damn good bottom fed dripper, flavor and clouds are both fantastic, especially with @raymo2u Clapton coils.

Lately I been basically glued to the Maker, Petri V2, NarDa, NoPity, Marquis, and the Stumpy attys.

Those aren't really fair comparisons imho given the vast amount of juice those tanks consume.

It's a personal choice of course but I have zero interest in blowing through 30 ml a day.

It's not about how much juice to me but how much flavor I feel I'm getting! Presumably any dual coil like the one i have in the Boreas is going to consume the same amount of juice at the same wattage, no? (And, of course, I DIY:p)

Some really excellent reg bottom feeders available. Lot's from Italy, some more reasonably priced than others. Metal, wood, 3D printed, Delrin... lots of options now! I've got a sweet little natural wood DNA40 SVA that I really like. And like Inspects said, DNA200 coming out, and I think there's even a massed produced one that's about to be released.

The pricepoint is so high on these though - as it was on the Reos!

I don't know... I usually only go through 6-7mLs a day in a squonker (dual .4-.6ohm build on a mech) and I just emptied 2 2mL tanks in about an hour. Pre-built coil, 13 watts. But this is my first tank experience since switching 2 years ago, so I have no idea what happened.

Svapiamo has a 3D pinted squonker with an evic chip... but I think 150 euros is a bit much. There are plenty of different chips now, and I just don't understand how there isn't any good economy regulated BFers out. Steamcrave and Geyscano is all I know about. Seriously, a reasonably well made delrin or aluminum chipped squonker for like $50-$75 would be amazing. I really don't know why it doesn't exist.
BUT, what is available, is pretty awesome. Higher price tag, for sure, but excellent quality and totally worth it, IMO.

Well, that's probably true if the airflow is comparable but that wasn't really my point. I started vaping as a means for harm reduction so all I really need is performance adequate to keep me from missing smoking.

That said, I can't deny that I do have some interest in a DNA200 squonker ... :p

Yup after 40 years of smoking this is all about harm reduction and ways to not revert to smoking! And it works, which still amazes me:p

I use a squonk tank myself on occasion, EDIT: It's called the fountain.

It takes a 5ML juice bottle, that comes with the tank, and I haven't had any issues with it myself. You get the squonk experience, with the RDA sitting right at the top of the tank, and a little hole in the side of the tank to fill the dripper with.

It works well, and has never leaked on me. I think if you want to try squonking, but are not sure, it is worth getting one of these tanks, they are not expensive, if you do I recommend going for the SS though, as my partner got a white one, and for some reason, it reads resistance inconsistently-with the SS one it is bang on, enough for me to use TC with :).

I've looked at those, never really liked it much. Love my Reo and SIB Sqounkers.

If I am honest, they are not bad, and a cheap way to try the sqounk experience without purchasing a squonker. A actual squonker with bottom fed RDA is a bit better though.

I only actually own one Squonker in my collection, and that is a cheap Kangxin 60W, I had to change the RDA that come with that as it was awful, drilled out a cheap FT RDA and it works rather well. I would like to get a better squonker though, all the things I like about dripping without having to do what I dislike-and that is dripping lol.

I primarily squonk.

But unflavoured, so it's not about flavour. At 0.25ohm on a mech, I am not considered a cloud chaser these days.

But it just rocks, maybe the ease of draw on an RDA? Dunno
Do you actually vape completely unflavoured? I have tried this once myself, I found it quite an odd sensation, I expected some sweetness from the VG, but I couldn't detect anything.

If it works for you, and you enjoy it though, that is good.

Also, it is quite mad how fast things have changed, and 0.25 on a mech is nowhere considered cloud chasing territory now.

Yeah. Completely unflavoured. 25mg nic, so it has a slight pepperiness to it.

Back on point here - Moderators we need a Bottom Feeder forum! But please don't call it the Squonker forum. There was a post in the one other bottom feeder thread that had the definition of squonking from the Urban Dictionary :blech:

Is there someplace to get the 510 pins? I tried drilling a hole thru one, but without a drill press it was a fail. I don't know who Catfish is or how to contact. Thanks

He also has a thread over at the other place ... understand if you don't want to go that route but just thought I'd mention it.

This would cost more but if you have more than one you want converted and you have a dremel, they do sell a mini drill press option for the the tool.

fat daddy vapes sells the bf 510 pins. he also carries a bf pin and center post.
additionally. I took one of my indestructible attys and just tore the 510 insulator a little a bit and low and behold, it now leeks through the bottom or bottom feeds.

Are these the ones? BF RDA Replacement Contacts (set of 3) And they come in M3 or M2.5, which ones did you use for which attys? Thanks

I couldn't figure out how to link, that's not a real user friendly website. But those have to be the ones, I'll get a pack of each.

I also saw that you can just dremel a slot up the side of the pin. Need to get a thinner wheel and give that a try.

that works with some
if the insulator is thick, you can just pull out the pin and insulator, cut a narrow notch out of the insulator and reassemble

Success. Got a hole thru the pin on a Baal V3. This time I left the pin in the atty, put the atty in the vise between wood blocks and got a perfect center punch starter indentation on the pin. The hole still ended up on the side of the pin where it enters the chamber, but not into the threads, good enough and it works. :confetti:
