My favorite juice is from right here in my hometown in the foothills of the Tennessee Smokey Mountains. Signature blends are steeped for a month in solid oak barrels. I don't own or work for the company and this post won't gain me a penny or a drop of juice. I'm just proud of this product from my area and want to share it with you folks. The steeping in oak wood brings out an amazing flavor! http://www.28daysvape.com/The-Kings-Blend--Oak-Aged_c_1.html

With the 'steeped in oak barrels for 28 days' statement, expected this to be some expensive juice, like another company who does something similar, but was very surprised at the prices, very reasonable for steeped juice :)

I experienced the same surprise when I found these guys Nailz.
When I was shown the barrels I thought it would be $$$ but the prices are very competitive.

I'd stay away, things grow in there. And who knows what leaches from the barrels.
Bad idea.

Do you also not drink whiskey, wine or any other alcohol that may have been aged in a barrel??

I think the alcohol in booze aged in barrels kills any bacteria just sayin I quess I just do not follow the logic of aging E-Liquid in a wood barrel and the putting it in a Sanitized Bottle. At when I DIY juice I put it in a sanitized bottle.

This was done at the other place. I have no personal experience but I followed that thread. There is a procedure to follow as far as cleaning the barrel and getting it ready for juice just like anything else. The logic is flavor and it is filtered out of the barrel. Many tried it with great results.

My ADV is King's Castle. Love - Glass Slipper, Enchanted Beast, Gone Mad. Most unusual (& tasty)- Sea Siren. If you like custard - Knight's Cross.
Castle is my ADV also. Not tried Sea Siren yet but I will.

That is some crazy shit….

People making vape juice like its fine whiskey.. I am extremely intrigued by this idea. I have a few questions…
1) how are the barrels prepared?
2) what is the benefit?
3) are the barrels left in the sun or in the dark?

Freaking cool idea though… I'd like to try it in a smaller barrel type set up.. Wonder if they make tiny oak barrels?? Hmmm

The only question I can honestly answer is the benefit is the taste. I'm a taste chaser and have tried a BUNCH of different juices and nothing beats this stuff. As for the barrel questions I do know that there's a filtering process as the liquid is brought out of the barrel. (to remove any sawdust? lol) But for your other questions you may want to hit the contact link on the site and ask them because I don't know. I have been told the steeping barrels are stored in a light/temp. control room of some kind.
I too wondered if I could find some tiny oak barrels and try it myself with some juices I already have!

You might wish to try this instead of finding a barrel (which will leak if you don't prep it right).

Go to your local hardware store/lumberyard.

Purchase some oak dowels, cut to fit inside of a glass bottle.

Take a torch and char the wood.

Insert into bottle and fill with your liquid.

Let sit in the dark and shake daily until your patience wears thin.

I got me a little oak barrel about 6 months ago for this purpose, and I use it for 1 recipe only. I make about 1/2 litter at a time and age it for about 2 weeks. It's the only thing my wife vapes now, and it's one of my 4 ADV.

if you contact 28 Days & ask them a question about the safety, prep of barrels, etc. I bet they'll tell you. their customer service is stellar.

This thread really caught my interest, so I did some looking around, thought I would share this with you all.
The best part, its customizable so you can have it say what you want it to say!
http://www.wineenthusiast.com/personalized-mini-oak-wine-barrel.asp

If you don't care about the personalization you can get these for $40. And the inside of these is already charred. They also sell un-charred barrels but the smallest is 2L

Make sure it's one of the flavors from the 'Kings', 'Queens' or 'Knights' line. Those are from the barrels.
The other line of flavors they have called 'Liquid Sin' is steeped 28 days but not in the barrels.

Rather then get a customized barrel, char it out and then fill it with some DIY; I'm just going to try some of the ejuice from www.28daysvape.com. I can't think of any liquid that I would want two liters of! What recipe has anyone tried out themselves aging it in a barrel?

@Christer ...Kings Castle is one of my favorite adv's. It's ripe plum with a tart exhale.
I also like Knights rum real well

Thanks Steam! I ordered the triple pack and plum was definitely my first choice. Not a real fan of rum these days. But Sailor Jerry's is the best I ever swilled as far as regular shelf goes. Thanks for hooking us all up with 28 dayz

Plum is a saturated flavor. Slightly musky - adds very complex taste> It's a great ADV. I just ordered more last Thursday

Bad idea.

Why do people check out and post on threads for stuff they know they don't want to have anything to do with? I'm seriously confused by the motivation involved. Why?

I use a mesh tea strainer to empty it out into a beaker, then bottle from there.

Besides, both vg and pg are antibacterial so nothing really to worry too much about.

I am in kingsport but have not seen their juice anywhere locally
Lucky Vapes in Elizabethton has it. I've bought it from there. They're on the main road on the right just before Sycamore Shoals hospital next door to the gun shop. I also heard Planet Vapor on Stone Dr. in Kingsport has it. You won't see it in any of the Rocky Top's. The 28 days guy used to mix for Rocky Top and some kind of bad deal went down so they don't do business with each other any more.
