Real Flavors flavorings?

Thank you very much. The cinnamon roll just went on my must try list! Were you happy with the 6% on the PDO flavoring or would you change it?

Definitely happy at 6% in a mix by itself. I let it steep almost 4 weeks but when I tried it immediately it tasted near the same.
But I have chocolate chip cookies and cream off your list. I will post reply later on when I get home. But as a quick answer I really like their cream. The chocolate chip cookies I wasn't a huge fan of

Thanks CCA.
I'm thinking of making a couple of stand alones at first, maybe the Max Dew & Bomb Pop. Have you tried those?
If so, what would you suggest for percentages? I'm making max VG if it matters.
Thanks again.

I stick to mostly the bakeries, desserts and savory flavors but with any Real Flavors I would start at 10-12% unless it's the PDO flavors then start at 5-7%. And those percentages are for single flavors mixes. And let them steep for at least a week (3-4 weeks better) before deciding if it's a good flavor or not.

I don't mind letting juices steep, as I have so many it sometimes takes 2-3 weeks for a flavor to back around in the rotation.
Thanks- I think I'll be mixing this Thursday!

I've got a few more flavors To post tonight or as soon as the babies get to bed lol
Cheesecake
cream cheese (I like this one a lot)
Bread pudding even tho there's a good bit of info
Chocolate milkshake
Strawberry milkshake
Super ice cream
Yogurt parfait
Neopolitan ice cream ("love this one)
A couple other I can't seem to remember

But I also have a few more on the way
Cookies and cream
Oatmeal cookie
Meringue
Blue moon ice cream
Strawberry PDO
Cream PDO

I like Real Flavors a lot. The steep time is a bit of a pain in the ass but I do like the idea of getting rid of pg for myself.

I would really like to hear how the PDO flavors work out for you, I have heard the flavor fades as it steeps.

Oh man. That's the first I've heard about that. The cinnamon roll sure didn't fade but then again 6% in a single flavor mix might be the reason why. I'm going to make a recipe with the cinnamon roll PDO tonight.
Thinking maybe cinnamon roll with extra cream cheese icing and vanilla bean ice cream or maybe vanilla custard instead of vbic. Maybe both
idk but the possibilities are endless lol

Has anyone here used the Bomb Pop (Red, White & Blue popsicle)?
I've read a few reviews elsewhere that indicated I might need to start at about 12% & may need even more.

Well I had a day off today & mixed four juices, including one using the Red, White & Blue popsicle.
I used it at 14% & did not add any PG. Nice & thick. As a shake & vape, it was smooth & tasty & definitely had the taste of the old bomb pops, but it maybe could have been a little stronger. I only made 15 ml & vaped approximately 4-5 ml of it so far. I'm going to let the rest sit a week, try it again & go from there. If changes still look like they need to be made then that's when I will make them. I'm assuming because it's not a bakery flavor with creams, custards & batters that it probably doesn't NEED steeping time, but I am curious to see how it reacts, as I have quite a few flavors in the rotation right now & it takes a week or two to come back around in line.

I'm hoping when I mix again in a couple of weeks that I can try one or two more of the RF flavors & try & get more of a feel for them.

Even without it being cream and bakery I think you will get your best flavor after at least 3-4 weeks aged. The nature of VG....just doesn't carry the flavor as well so takes more time to develop. Thanks for letting us know it tastes lke the real thing, sounds yummy.

Well it's now been 8 days on the Bomb Pop, so I tanked up another round this morning. I'm thinking it's coming around real nice & right now I'm 50/50 between taking it to 15% next time (yes, there WILL be a next time) or leaving it here at 14. I'll probably wait & make up my mind in another week, which is when I will get around to it again & probably be finishing this small batch off.

No complaints so far.

Meringue 10% made 7/14/16 tested today 7/25/16
I'm loving this one. The moment I tasted it on my tongue I knew it was a keeper. This is not like FA meringue. Where FA is eggy RF is more balanced and creamier. RF reminds me of Swiss meringue buttercream and if you've never had a meringue buttercream then you're missing out on something incredible. The texture is soft and silky smooth.
Recommend - yes I'll be keeping this on hand.
Off flavors/taste - None
Rated - 9/10

Super ice cream (superman) 10% made 7/13/16 tested 7/25
RF has the ice cream milky base down to a science. Super ice cream also called superman ice cream (hence the red blue and yellow) and it originated in Go Blue country (Michigan). The blue color is a flavor I can't pinpoint other then the other RF flavor blue moon ice cream, the yellow is maybe just vanilla but definetly not banana and the red taste like strawberry and raspberry mix. Then again I could be completely wrong. All I know is this is a awesome flavor and nothing comes close to it in taste. Great job RF. This wont be a flavor that will be mixed with others or in a complex recipe. This will be best by itself or maybe a little added vanilla or sugar cone/cookie.
Reccomend - Yes/just try it
Off flavors - None
Rated - 8/10 for taste and originality
Pairings - best as single but coconut, caramel, pineapple, banana, nuts

Rocky road - 10% made 7/14 tested 7/25.
Really nice chocolate flavor. Slighyl dark chocolate but more rocky road light chocolate ice cream. So far I don't get any marshmallow or almonds but it still needs to steep. I could this being a great base for a chocolate milkshake because their ice cream base is so creamy and thick at the same time. Lovely I tell ya!!
Will update in a few weeks.

Strawberry - 10%. 6/10/16 tested 7/25
I Love Strawbery vapes!! So I have a ton of experience in different strawberries (like a lot of vapers). Anyway this SB after its steeped is in my top 4 strawberries. More hard candy then actual fruit but it's so bright, sticky and would make an awesome glaze for a strawberry shortcake or lollipop. Slightly reminds me OOO (One on One) fresh or fruit strawberry can't remember which. After 6 weeks the RF strawberry is still strong and has no hint of fading. IMO it's the right amount of sweetness with very little if any tartness. If you have the patience this could be the best strawberry. I also have PDO strawberry and will do a seperate review.
Recommend - yes if looking for new or another strawberry
Off flavors - None
Rated - 9.5/10.
Pairings - it's strawberry anything for me

Raspberry 5% 7/15/16 tested 7/25/16
I'm not a huge raspberry fan (love the fruit tho) so I'll do my best at this one. This will be on of those flavors that you either love or hate. I do like this more then inw but inw has something in it that I can't get down with. Back to RF ok it's very authentic and needs a sweetener or EM to bring down the tartness and the the sour in it.
Recommend - yes if you want a new raspberry (better off sampling then buying)
Off flavors - green/underripe

Key lime pie - 10% - 6/10/16 tested 7/25 and a few times in between.
This one takes Forever to steep but once it does it's pretty good and it tast just like a damn good key lime pie. But there are easier ways to make a key lime pie without the 6 weeks wait. It's very subtle and there's a good balance between key lime and cheesecake but the custard is very minimal. I would like to see this in PDO because it has so much potential in being every other week all day vape. This is another single flavor mix because of the subtleness of the key lime. If you do want to mix this with anything I would think Graham cracker, coconut, whipped cream, extra meringue or custard and strawberry. But be sure to add a supporting flavor for key lime. It will get drowned out very easily.
Recommend - All RF flavors have been mostly great so sample it and see if you like it.

Great reviews so far, thanks to all for that.

I have come around with the mental block I have with mixing a single flavor so high. I mixed up some strawberry milkshake at 15% and just waiting for it to steep.

I agree with @Crago44 that the RF Strawberry is excellent. It is not replacing INW Shisha Strawberry but there different and they both have there place.

The Cons with RF for me is still the amount required to get flavor and the prolonged steep time. The Pros are the flavors are real tasty and for those with PG allergies this is an excellent alternative.

It's been over a week now since I last tried the Bomb Pop, but it's coming up in my rotation probably by tomorrow. It will then have a 22-day steep on it. I made it at 14% as a stand alone.
I will update more after I try it again in the next couple of days.

Oh heck no. No strawberry is going to replace the legendary shisha strawberry ;-)
But yes they are different and both have their place in the ol flavor container.
I also agree with the steep time. Very frustrating but so far I'm reallllly impressed with Rf. I think I will start going back to a hot bath to see if it helps with shortening up the steep time

Heat bath does help, i do that before adding nic though

Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Yea I used to do heat baths for all my mixes but that was before I started trying real flavors. But i always did hot baths with nicotine for some reason? That's a great tip and I will definitely add nic in after.
Thanks buddy

I just got a craving for bread pudding and rocky road mixed together. In a vape of course

I ordered up 3 of the new raw extract flavorings from real flavors, Strawberry, Butterscotch Pudding and Baklava. I wish they had Bread Pudding but no such luck. Was going to order more but 1 extra bottle and shipping went through the roof. I am really hoping these extracts are as potent as they say they are, was told that a 1oz bottle will make a 4-6oz bottle of normal flavoring so crossing my fingers.

Will update once I have had time to try them.

Hello, Thought I would chime in here with my experience with RF so far.
I bought Apple Pie, Blueberry Muffin, Butter Toffee, Butterscotch Pudding, Cinnamon Custard and Pumpkin Pie.
After reading Mystic's post on another forum I decided to try all of these at 8% & max VG except my nic is a 50/50 at 5mg.
I have tried all of these mixes at 2 weeks of just a dark storage room steep (no hot water bath or ultrasonic) They have all been extremely harsh and are really hard to vape. I'm at 3.5 weeks now and they are starting to loose the harshness and have potential for sure. The downside is the time it takes to make what ever is in them go away because I coughed like my first time inhaling a real cigarette. I will reply with a better post in the next week as it will be somewhat over 4 weeks to steep.
The next batch I will make some notes on what an ultrasonic will do. Perhaps speed up the process a little bit.
Really want to try the strawberry milkshake also so will order some very soon.

Its been a month or more on these upcoming flavor reviews but just so you know I have tried them weekly for a more in depth and accurate review of each flavor.
It's a bunch.... I will post the reviews after work. I have a reminder set so fear not. Reviews are not as easy as they seem to be. A lot of tedious work but I'm a believer in Real Flavors. Great company and great flavors.
French toast
Yogurt parfait
Butter toffee
Cake batter
Oatmeal cookie
Cookies and cream
Blue moon
Chocolate cake
Pink candy type
Strawberry pastry
Marshmallow
And meringue again

Trying the Butterscotch Pudding raw extract today, mixed it at 1.5% 2 days ago but the next day didn't taste much so upped it to 2.5%. This one needed at least a day to get rid of the harshness, as a shake n vape it had a little bite. I am not getting too much flavor today, going to let it steep more, I am getting more flavor from the Baklava at 2%. I am hoping the Butterscotch Pudding gets better with steeping, not impressed so far but I know @MysticRose loved the VG version after it steeped 4 weeks and this is the same formula, just in raw form.
The Baklava tastes pretty authentic but it needs a little Stevia or Brown Sugar I am thinking, maybe 0.25% to make it more tasty. I am going to let this steep about another 5 days to see if it sweetens up a bit more on it's own.

I have not tried out the Strawberry raw extract yet, the only other raw extract I have. I normally only use about 6% of the VG Strawberry so will cut down the usage of the raw extract to 1.5% as it is said to be 4 times stronger, we will see.

I really hope they add bread pudding to the raw extract line, want me some of that.

I also got in Cap Funnel Cake, great stuff at 5% standalone. Cap Churro tastes like a winner as well at 5%. INW Custard is also pretty good at 5%, not sure if it is a replacement for Cap but I just mixed it up so it needs time to steep.

Real flavors reviews
All reviews done with Velocity mini dual coil 8 wrap 26g 316L 50-60watts
Wick - full

Cookies and cream 12%
7/25/16 tried 8/14/16
Very creamy. Light cream not a heavy thick cream like an actual cookies and cream
Very light flavor but I would definitely get more if it was more potent
Not getting any off flavors like I did with peanut butter cookie. The cream is a meringue/cream mix with a hint of vanilla. The cookie is a very light chocolate with more cake notes then cookie crunchy notes.
Very good but light.
Recommend - as a piece to a more complex dessert recipe. If used as a main base you will need chocolate supporting flavors along with biscuit/cookie. I would buy this again in a raw extracts or PDO form not in VG due to subtleness
Off flavors - none
Rate - 6.5/10

Strawberry pastry 10%
Made 7/25 tried 8/14 -RF strawberry is so distinct to me and this flavor is a perfect representation. The pastry is light but I do get a slight pop tart like texture (glaze and all) . Using a cream for the frosting or maybe a cream cheese mix but nonetheless it's damn good.
This flavor is a perfect example of letting your mixes steep. The first few days/week was just strawberry but now the cakey/bready and frosting notes are coming through.
Recommend- I'm crossed between this. If you like making complex recipes then try to make this profile from the ground up. If you don't have time or the skills then pick this up but make sure it steeps for a few weeks.
Off flavors - none
Rate - 8/10

Oatmeal cookie - 10%
Made 7/15/16 tried 8/14/16
I don't taste oatmeal or cookie.
Both flavors are muted but I do get a creamy note
Recommend- No
Rate - 4/10

Yogurt parfait - 10%
Made 7/25/16 tried 8/14/16
Layers of yogurt, berries (I taste strawberry, raspberry, a smidge of blackberries), fruit glaze ( like in strawberry pastry) but I don't get granola ( slight if any)
I could see this as an ADV for many and it doesn't need anything else added to it expect some granola.
The yogurt is a silky smooth sweet yogurt and I would love to eat this every morning. (More notes coming)

I will reply with a better post in the next week as it will be somewhat over 4 weeks to steep.
The next batch I will make some notes on what an ultrasonic will do. Perhaps speed up the process a little bit.
Really want to try the strawberry milkshake also so will order some very soon.

I'm really sorry you are having problems with harshness. I can only think a couple things.

1. I mix 30/70 PG/Vg. I don't know if that makes a difference with All VG, But I do know PG carries flavor better.

2. Have you tried letting them breath for a few hours. I haven't needed to, but might help?

3. Are you mixing by weight and if so accounting for the weight difference from PG Concentrates? It can make a big difference if not.

I'm really sorry you are having a hard time with these. I hope people aren't going and buying large bottles of stuff based on my opinions, I would feel really bad. Please remember taste is subjective and if you want to try new flavors it's better to startwith samplers to see if you like them before ordering big bottles.

@mjag I already spoke with you on the other forum about the butterscotch pudding. For anyone else that was following, I usually mix the VG concentrate at 15%, so I'm thinking your idea of 4% should be equal if the strength is 3 to 4 times stronger on the raw extracts.

I think the blue ice cream from Michigan is blue moon ice cream it's this intense blue color .. I can't wait to hear back results from there blue moon I've not found anywhere . Even in ejuice it's very hard to find one good .hope this helps ..

Blue Moon IC - 10%
Made 7/15 tried 8/15/16
I was surprised that this is good. I received this one in a sample pack and came back to buy more. Real Flavors does ice cream better then anybody. Their cream base is so on point.
This particular flavor has a nice thick mouthfeel and the ice cream has a vanilla/cream/marshmallow base that actually taste BLUE. Lol I can't describe it. I've never had Blue moon ice cream but I would love to try it. This is basically a cotton candy ice cream with notes of raspberry/blueberry, vanilla and a thick cream. Seems like a citrus note is in here but I could be wrong. Regardless this a GREAT flavor.
Recommend- damn right
Rate - 10/10 for flavor and uniqueness
Pairings - pineapple, mango, coconut, bubblegum, cake, fruit cereal, cantaloupe, more mixed berries, citrus, the list goes on!!

Yes I've heard about it before this but never have got to try it. After the ejuice I'm on a mission to find some! Lol. I love this flavor but that's my palette and I'm sure there will be some people who won't like it. It's basically a cotton candy ice cream. Very sweet with blue raspberries, vanilla notes

I also got in Cap Funnel Cake, great stuff at 5% standalone. Cap Churro tastes like a winner as well at 5%. INW Custard is also pretty good at 5%, not sure if it is a replacement for Cap but I just mixed it up so it needs time to steep.[/QUOTE]

I was wondering about cap funnel cake and churro. I was hesitant on adding it to the cart but I'll try it out. one on one's version of Churro is complete garage IMO. All it taste like is raw dough lol

I'm going to let Cookies and cream steep some more. The taste today is a little bit stronger then yesterday. There will be some people who won't like Real Flavors but like all flavors Make sure you buy a sample before buying in bulk. @gremlindiy sells Real flavors in little as 5ml. Also on Real Flavors website their is an awesome 25% discount code ELRECIPES (does not include wholesale or sample packs)

Yes, I agree with the sample size. Also, every RF I have tried strengthens with a steep. Because of the VG it takes longer, and flavor difference on some is huge after the 4 week mark. VG flavors are definitely not for the impatient :(

Meanwhile this yogurt parfait and blue moon ice cream are my adv right now. The parfait is layered perfectly and the blue moon is cotton candy ice cream. Both are awesome. Blue moon is good after a couple days but yogurt parfait is best after a few weeks. Sooooo loooong of a steep time lol

The Cap Funnel cake is still pretty tasty, the Churro is fading a bit after 4 days steeping, tasting a little flat.

The INW Custard is a hmmmm, not sure what to think so far but only have about 3 days on a steep with it. It is a creamy base so far at only 3% and no foul tastes but nothing spectacular so far.

The RF raw extract Butterscotch Pudding is not blowing me away at 2.5% single flavor I mixed up single flavor. Weird thing is I am getting a harsh note today when I tried it, the same as the first day. I am thinking I have to play around with the percentage just a bit and add about 0.25% Stevia for a little added sweetness and just let it steep for a week. I am just not getting great flavor from the butterscotch pudding, it is not bad but not right as well.

The strawberry RE is yum and the Baklava is realistic but needs a little sweetness to it. I am liking that those 2 flavors didn't take long at all to get the flavor going unlike the VG counterparts that just take a long time to develop. I used then both at 2% and the flavor was there as a shake n vape, much better than the VG versions.

It's been over a week now since I last tried the Bomb Pop, but it's coming up in my rotation probably by tomorrow. It will then have a 22-day steep on it. I made it at 14% as a stand alone.
I will update more after I try it again in the next couple of days.
Wow I can't see the time for these all to steep , but they way it sounds worth it . Just wondered the difference between the VG , to the raw extract and then pdo.. ? So I know before I purchase ..

Thanks madam :) Wished we had the option for pg based with the RF's. I'd be all over it.

The new Raw Extracts from RF might be the answer. They are pretty concentrated, I have been getting good results with only 2%. Pretty soon you will be able to pick them up at Walmart as well and the Amazon store should have them up soon.
Hoping Gremlindiy gets the raw extract line and offers them in small sample sizes.

No, from what I understand from Walt the owner it is what they use to mix in the VG to make there flavors. There raw though, no added sweeteners, i think they use stevia. I remember him saying a 1 oz bottle of raw extract will make 4 to 6 oz of there VG flavor.

Least I can so after all the info I have gotten from you.

Have you tried the INW Custard yet? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Thanks I love helping as much as I can :)

I haven't ordered it yet. I'm more interested in Flavorah's backordered Custard. I'm hoping it will have that light, airy, slight eggy flavor and mouthfeel. Does the INW Custard have that ? Flavorah's Vanilla Custard has it using 1%. But anything higher, the vanilla takes over.

It would be great if I could find my tester bottle of the INW Custard, I was reorganizing and of course now I can find anything :giggle:

I tried it yesterday again after about 4 days steeping. It is more like a light cream with maybe a slight hint or nilla wafers in it, no egginess I could detect, maybe a couple of drops of OoO custard would improve that. I think I tried it at 3% but of course that is written on the bottle I can't find. Really if Custard wasn't written on the bottle and I had to guess I would say it is just a good cream base. Smelling the flavor direct from the bottle custard is not the first thing that comes to mind but I think it will have it's uses.

I did mix up a Strawberry Custard using the INW Custard and RF RE Strawberry 2 days ago. I only used 2% of the RE SB and it is coming through nicely, not so much on the cream yet but that usually just takes time to develop. Not sure I mentioned it here but RF Strawberry is becoming my favorite SB, I still love me some INW Shisha SB but I was getting tired of SB vapes until I tried the RF.

Just an update in the RF Vanilla Custard VG. Since I was testing the INW Custard I decided to break out the bottle of RF VC I mixed nearly 3 months ago. I have to say it has really developed finally and is pretty tasty using 8% of the VG concentrate. They do have it in the raw extract so if it is true to form you can probably get decent flavor from only 2% and much faster steep time. Not sure if I will be ordering the RF VC though, sort of getting tired of custards, need a break. It is more of a custard than the INW so far, unfair for the INW thought since it hasn't had time to steep. The RF VC has a slight egginess to it and the vanilla is there but not overpowering. Definitely on the light custard scale though but I have heard others having more success with 12% vs the 8% of the VG version.
