18650 or built in battery

Ok I've watched a ton of reviews on different regulated mods. I've read lots of articles geared towards beginners. I have decided an ego type isn't for me. So I have decided to go with a vv/vw mod. I want something that will last all day without recharging. I also want something I'm not going to have to replace often. Is an 18650 mod a better choice of me. How long does an internal battery mod last. Is it something I would hAve to replace every six months or a year given daily use. I realize that some of this is subjective ie how much you vape etc. But I haven't been able to locate any information on the lifespan of thrse devices. And I hate to say it but I kinda want a pretty device. I am looking at the pico the odyessy mini kit and the mvp 3.0 pro. The internal battery on the mvp is concerning me.

Internal battery CAN be a problem, and will eventually fail. But it may last for several years before doing so. An external batt is easy to replace if it fails, and are easy to do so with. That being said I have an eleaf ijust2 and a kbox 70 along with my rx 200 s and noisy cricket. The kbox and I just last longer on a charge than my 18650 mods. But they are much lower powered and more economical for the builds I have jn them. It's just a personal preference. My preference is external batts but I'm usually pushing over 100 watts on my larger devices

Thank you for such a quick reply. I thing I am going to go with an 18650 option. I don't know which one yet. I just like the Idea of having an extra battery on standby if I need it... I would definitely appreciate anyone else's opinions as well... Thank you all in advance.

Bump... Just want to see if anyone else has an opinion

My go to mod has a built in battery but that's a Vaporshark DNA200 with a lipo pack and it's user serviceable. If something like that is out of your price range I would be looking at a mod that uses a 18650 or 26650. With the upcoming regs you may not be able to replace your mod when the internal battery dies. Just something to consider, good luck.

I was worried about that and I actually have been thinking about picking up a spare or two. I was also thinking I should get at least on rebuildable and learn to rebuild it my self.

built on batteries DIE. longest i had one last me is 3 months. i have 2 mods -ipv 3li and ipv d2 over 16 months old and work perfectly like new. even still use the original 18650s i bought with them and they work great too. 18650 mods are definitely the way to go. get good batteries from a trusted source like liionwholesales.com and get yourself eiher samsung 25rs or lg hg2s they are about $6 each and have extra batteries. graba good charger like an nitecor or xtar
dont own any of the mods you are looking at but have heard good things about the pico

Yep external batteries (Sony, Samsung or LG) from trusted sources like Liion Wholesale or IMR Batteries.

That and definitely get a few RDA'S and RTA's. FDA regulations are almost here plus the States are Pigs at the trough and have vaping in their cross hairs. Look at Pennsylvania, Indiana, Utah and California.

Also get a few liters of 100mg nic juice and put in your freezer.

18650 is easily replaced, lipo is not.
With 18650s you can easily replace the batteries and keep going, while with a lipo you will have to connect it to a charger when it's done.
Advanced lipo mods gives you the option to remove and replace the lipo, but cheap ones have embedded lipos that can't be removed.

How long a battery will last you depends on the type and number of battery(s) used and the wattage used and it can be anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

I have the Serpent Mini on a Pico using LG HG2's. Quite happy with both. Doesn't hold much but fairly painless to fill. I think at this point with the FDA crap replaceable batteries are a must for me. I'm fairly certain I can fix the internal battery mods I have but don't want to have to at this point.

I see nothing wrong with built in batteries for beginners...cuts out having to find a trusted source for18650s

For around $35 you could have gotten the new Istick with 5,000mAh battery and not have to worry for a year or three.
My Istick50W is a year old and still going strong(only having to charge it every 4 or 5 days), this thing is 5 days old and still has half the battery bar

Yep, I wouldn't buy anything that you can't easily swap out. That also goes for Tanks, either get a dedicated RTA or at the minimum one that has an RBA. Having a few liters of 100mg nic in the freezer is also an essential.

wait did you get HB2s or HG2s 2 totally different batteries
BOoh are good
the biggest difference you will see in a pico is the HG2 will last twice as long as the HB2

But both are safe and reliable batteries

great. you will be happiest with those imho
LG has several batteries that are alll similar and good and it gets confusing
he2
he4
hg2
hb2
hb2c

the hb2 are the best overall battery imho for any regulated mod

3 liters of 100mg in the freezer now. I've never cared for buying coils. Everything I own, and it's a ridiculous number, is rebuildable. Stocked up on replaceable battery mods because I PIFed all but one of the regulated a while back.

Congratulations, just hit the 1 year mark myself from kicking a 36+year pack and a half day.

So to continue you really need to safeguard your progress. With the FDA and the States out to force us back to the Stinkies you need to get a few liters of 100mg nic juice in PG base stored in your freezer ASAP. Gear and other supplies can be obtained or made. But right now you really need to get a few liters in the freezer ASAP. Only a couple of weeks now and the FDA bullshit will hit with more fuckery to soon follow.

That's the plan today I'm ordering nicotine and my serpent mini. Is it really possible to learn to rebuild just using online resources. My local B&M isn't very helpful.

Yes it is, that is where I got most of my knowledge. Local B&M I hang out is very good but before I went to them I watched a shit load of YouTube videos. Also this forum is another outstanding resource.
