yesterday i went out and bought the Innokin Coolfire 4 100w box mod and was suggested the Uwell Crown sub ohm tank. i really hate this tank after just 1 day for many reasons. firstly the drip tip gets hot if i vape too long. secondly if i screw any part of the tank on too tight it will cause problems when unscrewing later. for example today i went to unscrew the top of the tank to add more just and the bottom of the glass attempted to come unscrewed. i had to use a wrench to hold one part while i unscrewed the other by hand. the airflow adjust is like 1/8th inch above the bottom of the tank where you screw it to the mod IF that. therefore unscrewing the whole tank is going to be damn near inpossible since my thumb is twice as thick as the space between the mod and the airflow adjuster. basically this tank gets too hot on the drip tip for me and is way more difficult to take apart than it should be so i need suggestions on a new tank.

i've heard rda tanks are better than sub ohms for flavor and for juice life. regardless i want/need a new tank and tip and would love some suggestions. i'm fairly new to vaping and i'm just now starting to experiment with different builds and stuff. any help would be great. the main thing i would like in a tank is immense flavorful taste and good hit (meaning i like feeling like my lungs are good and full)

thanks everyone :)

oh one more thing i dislike about my tank. this sucker "literally" appears to be eating juice like its going out of style. i take like 5-7 hits and notice my juice levels going down. vaping at 340 Fahrenheit @ 50 watts. anything under 50 watts with this tank feels like a weak hit to me. not sure if its the way the mod works itself or the way the tank handles the juice.i could also use coil suggestions.

When you screw a mod down, hand tight is good enough. Carefully and slowly screws it down, once it stops it's done. If you don't like the crown, put it up for sale or trade then get something new. The tank that matches your mod might be more your speed. If you decide to get a new tank, read and watch whatever you can find about it.

Curious which coil you are using (ohm).
im using a stainless steel .25 dual coil in the tank right now. i have another .5 stainless dual and a .15 nickel that came with the tank. the coils dont state the recommended wattage to vape with either and i dont like that :(

I'm a fan of rdas due to their simplicity. But as far as tanks go the eleaf ijust2 is pretty basic but works well enough for me when I need one. They are cheap to boot.

keep in mind, when you say 'rda tanks are better than sub ohms' you are mixin' metaphors there - if the BUILD on your rda tank is ohming under 1.0 ohms, it is now a sub ohm tank... most of my rdtas are set up with dual coil builds, ohming from .5 to .1, depending on the tank and the airflow - that being said, i love my rdtas (pretty much my daily drivers) but i am also a big fan of my crown tanks, though i run em in power modes, not TC... in regards to the drip tip getting too hot, might consider changing out for an acrylic drip tip... and skt kind of nailed it with regards to the tightening (overtightening can actually cause issues with your 510 connection - and overtightening a coil head can cause leakage via deforming the o ring)

in regards to juice drinking tanks - that is pretty consistent with any sub ohm vape, some more than others - using a sub ohm coil in any device - tank, dripper, rda, rta, rdta - will increase juice consumption (big part of the reason i got into DIY juice making)

may be worth checking out the isub tanks (isub apex is very decent) or tobeco supertank mini (compatible with atlantis/ triton coils, so lots of options)

for power modes (not the Ni coil though, that is only for TC mode), a decent rule of thumb is look at the voltage number you are getting with the wattage you have set (given ohms law) - a common 'zone' if you will is to shoot for 3.5-4.2 volts (lower ohm coil will require higher wattage to get this number)

it is not uncommon for coil heads to have a 'recommended' wattage level on them, but those numbers are not always a great guideline - best practice is to start low, work your way up to find what works for YOU, not necessarily for the guy that put the number on the coil - ultimately, this is all about finding what works for you

imho, the V1 Crown is a workhorse with great airflow and of course the ease of topfill. The SS coils have always been hit or miss, that's why I use the .15 Ni200 coils in TC. Consistent flavor and vapor production.

i was looking at the isub apex. the 5ml juice capacity is very attractive

Hold the glass while you unscrew the top. It doesn't have to be super tight, it won't leak, that's what the orings are for. It has grooves for grip on the bottom of the tank to get it off the mod. I have issues with that also but it's not only on this tank. Get a drip tip on eBay, I got an adjustable airflow delrin for like 6 bucks!

Try the super tank mini! Great airflow, good flavor and huge variety of coils fit it!

As far as EASE OF USE and great flavor producers, maybe try one of these;
Tobeco Super Tank (original, can't speak for the 25 or mini)
Aspire Cleito (there are replacement tanks for around $3 to increase capacity)
HorizonTech Cerakoat (same as Aspire Cleito)
Uwell Rafale (this will bring out the lurkers)
Sense Herakles Plus
There are many other great flavor producing tanks to recommend but all the others would be juice hogs.
As @doc_iguana stated, almost all of your sub ohm style tanks will drink juice.
So I won't recommend the TFV8, TFV4, Triforce30ml, or a long list of others.
Many of them also wouldn't be a best fit for your mod.

I really do wish I was joking.
This is just part of the collection.
For some reason my wife thinks I may be coming down with a problem.
I told her I was allergic to lack-of-vape-gear.
She didn't seem amused.1.jpg

I'm really wondering if your Crown is authentic? I have 6 Crowns with none of the Op's issues. However, at my last trip to Vape Northeast I did mistakenly pick up a cloned Crown. I knew as soon as I installed the first coil that something was wrong. The coils did not screw in smoothly and the drip tip was actually a little crooked. The machining on the Clone is absolute shit compared to the real Crown. I also bought coils from the same vendor and they turned out to be clones as well. Lucky if those coils lasted for 3 tanks. If I were you I would check the codes and see if your stuff is authentic.

You know it's odd I've read through this thread a few times and although I don't own a Crown myself.Everybody I have talked to about the original posters problem has said that.

EDIT : 1 nameless vape chat host recommended that item just be tossed as it is almost certainly not authentic.
