Herakles Plus is "harsh"

I've had a Herakles Plus for about a month, maybe a bit longer. It's always been great. Last few days, it's gotten very harsh. It's hard to explain, but it hurts my throat. I've tried a new coil. .4 Kanthal, (primed) I've completely taken it apart and cleaned it. Different flavors don't help. Once the whole thing is clean, and the coil is replaced, I can't think of any other reason for a problem. It's very odd.

Any ideas?

look for burnt cotton around the coil. Boreas did that to me last 2 wickings.

Meaning what? It's causing one tank to taste harsh? But not the others? How so?

It seems the same, regardless of coil. I've tried 3.

I had the original herakles and it was the
.6ohms coils and I found it really harsh and I was getting dizzy....

I find the H Plus 0.4 coil a little harsh in general, but the 0.2 SS coil smoother and also longer lasting...... Better flavor, slightly less cloud, less prone to leak.

I wouldn't put a batch of dud coils out of the question..... or a tank that needs a good cleaning, especially if new flavors.

My original Herk still sees use. The 0.2 can handle at least the watts its rated for. Presently at 68w, less heat than the 0.6 coil, a little slow to ramp up. Going to try Vaporwerx and Coil Art coils in the og tank. Picked up a spare, for the new regs.

I find the Herakles Plus can be overpowering and new coils need to be broken in for a while. Start with a clean tank. Put in a new coil and run it at about 35 to 40 watts at first. When it starts to mellow out you can up the power gradually. 40 watts with the top airflow closed and the bottom open produces a very good flavored full vape for me. I prefer the Kanthal coil in mine and I mostly enjoy custard type of juices.

I'm starting to find that in most tanks, I much prefer .4 coil heads to .2 coils heads. I just cooked the coil in my Cleito last night, and the only replacement I had was a .2. Flavor is sort of muted, and I'm getting a bit of an off flavor. Can't really describe it. Not "burnt" exactly. Just sort of off. Persists regardless of wattage. I'm sure it varies from tank to tank, and coil to coil, but on the 3-4 tanks I use, .4 seems to be my preferred. Or maybe I'm just used to it.
