Well after 100s and 100s of dollars spent on equipment. I have decided to drop vaping and go back my analogs. I have tried so many tanks, mods, juice flavors, and coils. None of them has made me happy. Kanger- Too much flooding and juice in my mouth Joyetech- mod died after three weeks Uwell- crown doesn't hold enough juice. It's just that everything I have tried has sucked. So I'm saying bye and welcoming back my Ultra Lights. Might die, but at least I will be f'n happy.

I would suggest a Nautilus Mini Tank for someone looking to replace smoking with something that delivers the same type of vapor cloud as the Killer Sticks smoke.

Big tank with many fans - Boreas. You have to build coils for it, but people sell pre-made ones.
Reliable mods are all over the place. I can understand having a difficult time early on, but it's worth not giving up so soon. There's plenty of non-sucky equipment out there.

I agree with Nightshard.

If you go over to ECF or here you will find entire threads devoted to the struggle with smoking.....many many people are dual users.. they smoke and vape...many many people take years to make a total switch from smoking to vaping you are not failing vaping hasn't failed you. just take a deep breath and keep fighting your way back to health and being drug free.
Vaping is no magic bullet to kick smoking it's one of many tools you may need to kick, but it is an important tool.

Been vaping for 4 years and yes I have a bag filled with parts of old crap that i've picked up over the years, but it doesn't mean that I gave up.
These days there is so much to choose from and even the cheap gear is much better then what the veterans started with.
Those hundreds of dollars are much less then what I would have spent on analogs instead.

You should try to enjoy vaping for what it is and not as an exact replica of smoking because it's not and shouldn't be.

So sorry to hear this Matty. :( I know it's a tough road, but given a little more time and maybe a few more $$'s you can find that perfect setup for you. I don't know what you have tried... but I found the Kanger subox the perfect setup for me. No dry hits, no burnt hits, decent size tank, easy to re-fill or replace the coils. And dependable as hell... can't tell ya how many times I've dropped it and it keeps right on ticking.

If it's more of an eliquid issue... well... I don't know what flavors or vendors you've tried but I'd be more than happy to provide you with a list of VERY reputable eliquid makers. Not hyped up vendors... I mean vendors that actually make inexpensive GOOD tasting eliquid. I've been vaping for over 4 years... and I went through literally 1000's of 30mls to find the perfect ones for me. Funny, I found a lot of the time flavors I don't consume in real life are usually flavors I like in a vape... like mango and apricot.

Everyone has bad vape days, It's perfectly normal, hang on to your gear and give it a couple days, try picking it back up when things are less stressful for you, I hope this passes and you can try again to kick those smokes, Good luck!!!

It's your life. No one can tell you how to live it but you.

You also sell short the seriousness of something like COPD or emphysema. Suffocating every day is no real treat. Matter of fact, it's pretty miserable. The opposite of happy.

I was a three pack a day smoker, for a lot of years. I quit smoking after 25 years, because of VAPING and the drive to quit. I tried everything on the market to quit. Only vaping worked, and ONLY after finding the right set up. For me it was RDA's and 100 watt box mod.

I would still LOVE to smoke. I LOVED smoking, and even after not smoking for going on 4 years, smoke still smells good. I still want a cigarette, but I will not smoke again. Living and not having deadly health issues is more important to me.

Hopefully someday, you stop giving yourself excuses to keep smoking, and realize for yourself, how important your health and well being is.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

I never know how to respond to these types of posts. Why does someone come on a pro vape site and say how sucky vaping is and they are going back to smoking! Just stop posting and go back to smoking. Why the announcement? I am going to tell you that you are making a big mistake- do you want to be talked out of this?
You'll be glad to know that at least every penny you spend on cigarettes will end up in a garbage can, that cigarettes are garbage, and stinky smelly garbage at that! Talk about waste of time and money! When you watch someone you love more than anything pass away from Lung Cancer, like I have, you will do whatever it takes to quit cigarettes!
Sounds like you are listening to the voices in your head get the better of you, cigarettes are not your friends. I know it is so much easier to light up, and ecigs still take thought and will power, and sometimes some patience, but ecigs are so worth it to me!
The negative talk is so bad- trying to like take some other weak souls that are on the ledge down with you?
Sorry- your life, not mine, your choice, not mine! Sorry you feel that way!

EDIT: I smoked for 30+ years and tried to quit for at least 25 years so many different ways until I found ecigs- have not had a cigarette in almost 2 years!

I'm not going back to cigarette. I have had a lot of stress on me lately and that's when I miss my cigarettes. I am now on a search for the right mod, tank, and nicotine level. Right now I'm on 6mgs using a 0.5 ohm coil. My kanger plus tank that I love, is getting juice under the drip tip. I am so frustrated!

Glad to hear you are sticking it out! ... You should keep some 12mg eliquid on hand for those "stressful" times or when you are really feening for the real cig. All setups will get a bit of condensation under the drip tip... its from the vapor that goes thru the drip tip but is never absorbed. Nothing a qtip can't fix ;)

@Matty102 I can make one suggestion, pair that Nautilus Mini with Unflavored juice. None, notta, zilch, zero flavor. I use 24 mg Unflavored 75% of the time even after I quit smoking. I found that vaping flavored juices while I was still smoking was like brushing teeth and drinking a glass of orange juice. Does not go together. It is what helped me out while I quit smoking and went to vaping exclusively over a 3 and a half month journey. Once I quit smoking, I started to enjoy flavored ejuice and making my own to suit MY own taste as taste is subjective to everyone. When you have that same sweet taste of nothing at all and can expect it every single time, minus if your coil goes out and gets scorched, it is a great feeling to be able to go to that while you are perfecting your own coils, wicking and juice tasting until you find the one is priceless.....Hope this helps out for those frustrating times. Juice under the drip tip is normal. Condensation builds up on the chimney and tip as you vape. When it gets heavy enough it runs back down and therefore finds its way under the tip as it is not a concrete seal. I vape 6 mg at .3 - .9 ohm coils and for higher ohm coils like 1.5 and 1.8 ohm, I use my 24 mg juice as it does not work as efficient as the sub ohm coils. Hope this helps and I am glad to hear that your sticking it out.

*Edit: I smoked for 28 years 1-2 packs a day as a FYI.

It took me years to finally quit and got straight to vaping. Years. I started vaping in 09ish. I go back to the days of cutting up tea bags and aquarium filters and putting them in the cartos of cig-a-likes and wetting them with crappy Chinese juice. Vaping was always sort of a fringe hobby. Something to fiddle with. As I progressed to mods and tanks and sub ohm tanks I started liking it more. What I started to learn is that it's not magic. You don't just get to go to a vape shop, buy a set up, one flavor and kiss cigarettes goodbye. It would be nice, but for me anyhow, addiction is too strong. We all have those friends that can have a smoke at the bar, then not touch a cig again for months. Or have one a week on saturday night. I'm not that guy. My style of addiction is all or nothing. Once I found a few tanks I liked, and a bunch of flavors I like, I really started enjoying vaping more. Then I got my wife into it. We went to a vape event. Tasted a bunch of juices, tried a bunch of equipment. We got hooked. Vaping became something we enjoyed. Didn't make quitting easy, but made it easier. A good flavor you look forward to, in a tank that blasts great flavor and vapor is a great way to take the edge off not smoking. We both finally made the decision to stop buying cigs. Being part of a community helps. Talking to people. Seeing just how possible it is. Keep vaping. Keep not smoking. You can do it. It won't be easy, but it's possible. Hang tough. Put on your big boy (or girl) pants.

Okay y'all I'm in need of some help. The direct lung inhale isn't doing it. I need my mouth to lung back. Suggestions: these requirements only. 1. Pre-made coils. 2. At least 5ml tank. 3. For mouth to lung, of course. Not the old nautilus, it gets to hot when vaping.

Thank y'all for any help!

I believe the Nautilus X has a 4 ml (sorry its just shy of 5 ml.)adapter for mtl hits. Found here: http://www.aspirecig.com/products/tank-series/tank333.html the adapter is there but you need to scroll down to see. Hope this helps.

If go go back to analogs, go to B and B tobacco ( Indian reservation bought from them many times) look at Cheyenne brand all natural and taste like Marlboro $15 per carton

This is a great price for the Aspire XTank
I use eLeaf Air Tanks But have not used this one and it gets great reviews and I order from Rocky Mountain all the time- very fast and free ship if you spend $14.00! Use code president for 25% off- make sure you buy coils too either in the 1.2 or 1.5

looks like they are out of the 1.2 coils, but the 1.5 work great for MTL!
If you order today you will have by Monday.
This tank is 4 ml

I gave a suggestion for a MTL tank- I think you want to stay away from sub Ω tanks and if you can't try to get 1.0 Ω coils or above like 1.2- 1.5Ω and you could get a tighter drip tip and put in your existing tank, that might give you better MTL?.

My only other suggestion is try the Joyetech AIO- gets great reviews - I have never used that! I love my Kanger Nebox and I also use the Sigelei Mini Book Kit and the Sigelei 75w Oni with the Sigelei X Tank with 1.0Ω aspire Atlantis coils- both those are all pretty much DL, but I love them. I put a GS Air Tank
http://www.rockymountainvapor.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_114&products_id=471
on my Sigelei Mini Book which is only a 2ml tank, but I have used the gs air tanks for over a year
http://www.rockymountainvapor.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_114&products_id=347 this is the only tank my hubby likes, but it is 2.5 ml that is why I suggested the other tank at 4ml

Okay y'all. I am OCD, lol! No really I am. I need to know what my type of inhaling I'm doing. What I do is, I basically do what you do at a doctors office. I inhale taking a deep breath and exhale the vapor. Just like when a doctor checks your lungs. What type of inhale is that?

Thank y'all for putting up with my OCD.

Sounds like direct-to-lung -- a/k/a huffing. Mouth-to-lung is like sucking thru a straw into your mouth.

stick with it,,hang in there....you know those tiny bottles with the little ball roller thing,, maybe get yourself one (or just a tiny ejuice bottle),,, fill it up with nic.. dab it on your skin only when your stress is high and vaping isn't helping as much.

vaping has 'cured me' of 2 packs a day for 35 years..i am nearly 0 nic every day with occassional visits to 1-3mg.. those are stressful days. i found i really like the full flavors of my ejuice without nic.. so i have been applying my nic to my skin the same as you would with a patch. mind you i am using just a tiny bit at a time.. is it working? i dunno,, but i feel good and a recent era of plain old crankiness has passed........i am normally not a cranky person,,i prefer laughing my ass off.. even if i am the butt of the joke. ..

anyway,, find what works for today,, every day and ask questions..ask for support.. we are all paddling in the same boat :)

Matt, that is direct lung hits.

When I first started vaping it took 24 mg nicotine with whole tobacco alkaloids to get me off the smokes for good. I still keep some 24 mg nicotine ready to vape if my usual 6 mg isn't doing the trick. A couple mouth-to-lung vapes off a tiny aspire atomizer with 24 mg nic takes away any urge to smoke instantly.

Have you tried using a small inexpensive atomizer with high nicotine content in the past?

If I tried to get off the smokes using 6-12 mg nicotine I believe it would have been utter failure. But everyone is different naturally, what may have worked for one doesn't mean it would work for others.

Yes this is a Direct Lung hit- you say you have spent hundreds of dollars on ecig gear- what is the 1st thing you used to quit smoking with? Maybe go back to the gear that got you off smoking to begin with and switch back and forth with your current setup.
I kept using my Joyetech eCabs filled with 24 nic when the urge to have a cigarette happened- like in the morning for me, but switched back to my DL gear later in the day and did that for months. I have a friend online that only uses the Mig Cig, she tried other gear, but nothing felt like a cig to her except that Mig Cig, yes expensive, but works for her to stay off of cigs.
I quit smoking by using Mistic Bridge kit- I know gas station ecigs suck- but that worked for me- it was the most like a cig with no buttons to push, tiny and 24 nic Haus juice and 18 nic cartridges kept me from smoking for months- then I purchased the eCabs which still kept me from smoking. These are Mouth to Lung devices, then I used a iStick 20w with the gsair tank, still MTL( still use that) I like my eLeaf Basic kit- MTL for on the go, works great, cheap and small. I still use my Innokin vv/vw 3.0 with Kanger eVod2 glass tanks- I know people will say that is crap, but they have all helped me stay away from cigarettes!
Now I love my Direct Lung Hit boxes like my Nebox and the Sigeleis with the SubΩ X Tanks, and Pico w/ Melo tank using 3 nic, but still have my back ups just in case. I spent hundreds of $ on gear and switch it up, I still have all my gear, maybe you need to get back to what got you off of cigarettes or try something small and easy.
I smoked cigs for over 30 years and was determined to quit- no way was I ever gonna smoke again, set my mind to that and with ecigs, I have stayed cigarette free for almost 2 years! Being on ecig forums like this one have helped me a lot too!
Stay strong!

Sorry to hear of your money problems, that sucks! Sometimes I think keep it simple, some of these devices are too much.. I still use my istick20 and my eLeaf air tanks- I get them from the link I posted to you from Rocky Mountain Vapor- about $7.50 for the tank and about $7.50 for a 5pack of coils free shipping if you spend $14.00 is pretty cheap! Maybe if you get the iStick30 you could still use your Kanger tanks? They didn't have the 30w istick when I bought my 20w and over a year later I still use it daily!

They 25% off when you use the code- president
I have used this company for almost 2 years and they are great!
That Is why I keep all my gear and put away for the future and I have spent hundreds too! I have a cabinet that I keep all my supplies. You might need to go back to basics, and you could switch your gear back and forth, from your Kanger to your eLeaf.

That right there. When I had my relapse to dual use, I was having a terrible time trying to get used to vaping again, after my illness and 4 days without vaping at all -- it just didn't taste good to me, after that. So I got out my trusty lil eRoll -- it worked the first time, and I remembered also how it muted flavors, and since I was having a hard time re-acclimating to the taste of vapor, I figured that was just the ticket -- and it really did help. Once I got used to the taste again, I was able to return to my Kayfuns, and finally to return to smoke-free. Still got that eRoll, may not ever get rid of it -- it's not nearly enough of a vape for me anymore, but it's an artifact of TWO successful campaigns to switch entirely to vaping.

If my iStick TC40W was to kiss the ghost I would definitely replace it in a heartbeat because it was my first MOD and I am still using it even with much higher power MOD's. Even at only 40 Watts maximum it still with deliver a nice vape using TC.

Thats for sure Andria- sometimes sub Ω is too much for me especially in the AM, that is why I still use my trusty iStick 20w with my MTL GS Air tank- one of the 1st things I have used to completely stay off cigarettes that and my eCabs, very similar to your eRoll. The small cigarette style worked for me for many months! If I fell ill and just wanted a little vape I would certainly pull the eCabs back out. I am lucky that I have not had a cigarette relapse and glad that you were able to get back to vaping!

It is so great when you find gear that works and that you are happy with it! I have higher power mods too, but still use that istick20 in the AM- fits nice in my hand and long battery life keeps right on going thru my morning chain vape.

2 year mark is coming up next month and because I decided one to day that it was finally time I did it cold turkey and never have thought about going back to smoking. Wasn't easy and the withdrawals were nasty to get past but the Cig-A-Likes was how I did it. Although I did have one here or there at first the very last one I ever had still sticks in my head how I could not get away from the stink that hung on me. Now even some Tobacco flavors smell too much like cigarettes that they turn me off. However you do it doesn't matter as long as you become a former smoker! Good Luck to everybody!

Vape On Safely...........

It is so great when you find gear that works and that you are happy with it! I have higher power mods too, but still use that istick20 in the AM- fits nice in my hand and long battery life keeps right on going thru my morning chain vape.

I had tried a smaller setup from Buck Naked that was like the Cig-A-Likes and the case was a charger but it was not for me the guy I my local vape shop took it back and sold me the iStick and a Nautilus Mini and that was the answer for me! Cig-A-Likes got me past the withdrawals but now vaping is for pleasure.

I think the cigalike types are also good for confusing your addiction; is it a cigarette? Is it a vape? Not a bad thing at all, when you're first transitioning, or RE-transitioning, since so much of the cigarette addiction really is just mental, automatic habit.

Wow 2 years- I almost there too- mine is Dec1 woo hoo! I bought a Mistic Bridge in November of 2014 instead of a pack of cigs - gave myself 2 weeks of dual use and then Bam- No more cigarettes! I like you remember my last cigarette and that I was so done with cigarettes running my life!
Now I can pick out smokers in the store by smell- yuck- did I smell like that? Sure did!
You are so right, it doesn't matter what device you use as long as you are not smoking cigs!
Thanks to vaping I only had a couple of rough months, mainly in the AM, but I am stubborn and refused to have another cigarette, I am one that wouldn't stop at 1 or 2 and I was just over cigarettes- forums helped me a lot too, people to talk to in the same boat, or just lurking and reading were such great inspirations to me!

Yes Andria that is exactly how I approached the cigalike types- they became my newfangled cigarette, I knew I was getting nicotine and I could see "smoke" so I could fool myself into quitting, and it worked for me! These cigalikes get such a bad rap but it worked for me as a stepping stone to what vaping is all about- and then I got a hobby to keep me busy, Vaping! Watching you tube and joining forums, and the fun of purchasing great gear and eliquids on line! Cigarettes were never this much fun!
I am so glad I bought a Mistic Starter kit instead of a pack of smokes as now I am a Happy ex-smoker who vapes!

pushing the 5 year mark for me.

I still on occasion want a stinky.
Snuff carries me over that hump when the vape is not itching that scratch.

Wow 5 years! Congrats to you! I just don't want cigs any more, I am around smokers and I can't even stand the smell anymore!
I had itches in the beginning- so bad that 4 months of not smoking I put that cig in my mouth, lit the lighter and came to my senses and broke that cigarette and cursed myself out for being worthless and weak. Forums have helped me through some tough times- all you people knew what I was going thru, cause you were all going thru it too>

Life is so stressful sometimes and we need comfort where we can find it- no judgement from me, I understand, and sorry to hear you need to be on pain meds and hope that they are helping you too!
