Hello again everyone. As random as I tend to be thought it might be good to open a thread where all things vape and random are welcome.

There's coffee in the pot and tea in the fridge so pull up a chair. ;)

I'm currently in between trying to learn how to build coils for my subtank mini and dabbling in diy.

That looks like it would come in very handy. I'm currently waiting for the coil master builders kit to be back in stock. It comes with tools, jigs, and an ohm meter.

The only thing, mine demands single coils...someday soon Imay want a different setup with dual coiling and more oompah. Lol. :p

Don't forget the good 'ole website to help calculate that coil making process.

I use it all the time. It save's time, and money.
When I started out, it was the old "trial & error" thingy. and I went through a lot of wire and cotton trying to get that perfect build.
Now, they make it easy by just plugging in what you want to build and you can do it right the first time around without wasting alot of material.
Have patience and don't get too excited and you'll be making coils like a pro.

I also use Steam Engine and have been very happy with it. Just how much dabbling have you done in DIY? I've been DIYing for around 6 months or so. I hardly ever buy commercial juice now.

Well I've been diying since the 2nd of this month. Lol, just went through all my vg and pg. Each were 120ml bottles. Had to order more on the labor day sale.

Just got in an order from vape wild and I'm loving the liquids. I can vape these while mine steep. The lemon sansation is so tasty.

So I noticed that I ran out of vg sooner than pg... I tried a 70/30 pg/vg mix and it tastes like alcohol and burned my throat. Not doing that again lol. I prefer a 50/50 blend.

6 months huh? I bet you've learned alot of tricks. I'm already learning here and there. :p

I did the same and learned quickly, order bigger, lol. I get both by the gallon now.

Lol, did you up the pg in your mix to get by? I tried it just cuz I needed more juice and I'm getting a strong alcoholy like throat hit. Lmao.

PG will give you more throat hit, which I don't mind, PLUS I can't tolerate VG over 30, anyway. Too heavy, makes my lungs hurt.

I see, well it may just need time to steep then. :)

We each like different mixes and that's another fun factor with diy. :D

I've also read of people using part distilled water. I thought that was interesting and may have to try it out.

Most of those people are high VG mixers, so keep in mind, if it's over 30% PG, I'd do so sparingly. It can make it too thin. Some have experienced leaking, but Max VG users have great success with it.

I <3 Clouds!

Coil building gets easier as you go :) Best bet is to get a bunch of different wire guages and a pile of cotton and have at it..

For simple coils I'd recommend something like this, for the price can't go wrong :)

https://www.fasttech.com/products/3034/10012175/2066300-kuro-koiler-wire-coiling-tool-3-piece-set
I just bought one of the Kuro Koilers and it came yesterday, waiting for some crappy weather to try it out! It has been sooooo hot and sunny here, but living in NY the crappy weather will be soon upon us! I have been vaping for almost 2 years and have never tried to wind a coil yet, but with the FDA crap, I need to learn and this little device looks like an "I can do it" (haha I hope)!
