First time I went to Sydney, BIL pointed at the ground and said "See these burrows in the lawn?... Sydney funnel webs." (one of the most venemous spiders on earth)

Sister replied "Nathan, I just walked across there in high heels. No they're not"

Bet it's not THAT cold there. Freezing.

On another note, I'm doing my own laundry now. At a half passed midnight.

Was looking at pdib's flickr, and spotted a lump of wood that really appeald to me.

Not hybrid with resin (as is the trend), not stabilised, not a burl... Just wood. I really like it though. It is African blackwood.

PM convo with pdib. He said he hasn't made a nut punch with straight wood yet, and with the cap being bigger than a pinch or a dibi, he can't guarantee end grain won't warp. But he said if he were to ever recommend a "just wood" for a nut punch, it would be african blackwood.

So I'm having my nutter made of that. Probably around January.

Beautiful! I've always been fascinated by coral reefs, and most sea life in general, especially deep sea creepys! how many did you end up with by the time it was said and done?
Just those. I only have room on the rack for a few new ones at a time. I love cuttlefish but their price with short life span makes them better to see at the zoo.

Cuttlefish are a squid right? Their thingies wash up on the beach here. Good for parrot beaks.

I learned new stuff at work today. So I am thoroughly confused now.
Not as cold, though.

My rough-around-the-edges boss is a conundrum. He thinks that because he understands the particulars of something I should understand it too. I keep having to remind him that I don't speak man-talk, and that grunting and pointing at a piece of paper is not actually 'teaching'.

More is needed? I'm the only male in my department and the rest of them females have been working to "improve department communication". I've never felt the need for improvement yet. I thought we were communicating fine.

Non-verbal is definitely better than what I used to work with. (OMG, there's no :ike: emoji here.)
But just a half an explanation would be helpful.
For crying out loud, if I had ESP I wouldn't need to work for this guy.

We got this one . . . :blah:

You're smart - just grunt, grimace, and motion back to him. If nothing else, just give him the "look" . .. .

This overnight shipping stuff is just strange. Greeley, CO is a 4 hour drive (3 from North Platte). It flew to Indiana to get to Omaha which is 3 hours (4 from North Platte) the other direction. Then it'll drive to North Platte passing my house. Then from North Platte, another 45 min back east again.

Not sure Jess ever found us here either.

And the paramedic who's name i could never remember. Rose in the avatar.

Think someone saw jimmy recently f2f, but no check in.

Storm is around in his usual enema fashion

Imedic... He used to live just down the road from where I live now. Wonder if he still is. Haven't heard from him in a long while.

Suppose I should go check nu-vapor to see if anyone straggled over there

Work was insane! We had an hour wait all night, we do average 4-6 cuts an hour. So it was a little crazy. But a sweet little birdie sent me some flowers to come home to and a good friend took me for dinner after work so all in all a good night.

Bad part is waking up early and doing it all again tomorrow. No rest for the wicked

Thanks again all of you. The bestest bunch of knuckles this side of the Internet
Happy birthday very, very late from a not so bestest knuckle. In my defense, I was on a bit of a holiday to TX and they don't have anything by smoke signals for wifi so I was incommunicado. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

glowplug isn't working just now
That's not zactly true. I am doing a short run tomorrow morning and I am officially on "full duty for a trial period". If I can handle it without major pain, I will return to work full time in the very near future. I need to pick up this load at 0400. This is not my favorite time to be up, awake and working especially since it means I will have to get to the pick up tonight or get up at about 0130 if I stay home tonight. Oh well.

I am looking forward to being productive again.

Him too.

But nakifantaci or similar? Used to confuse her with taki and posted a strip tease for Keith's birthday on accident early on

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
I doubt you offended our Nakifantaki! She likes women, ya know? She is alive and well in Las Vegas and totally in love with a wonderful woman. She is happy and they just bought a house. Good news all around. She shows up now and again on FB.
