I'm loving vaping, and with all the new things constantly coming out, I can see myself being unable to stop making purchases. New flavors, new mods, new tanks, new and different coils. I spent hours reading about tanks and searching best prices. I'm already thinking about my next purchase! I've got to get grip and just love what I have for awhile -- well, after my two vape mails get here, lol. I fall in love with a flavor and get an email about a sale on a new flavor, then I HAVE to have it. I also can see me rebuilding to cut down on costs and it seems like a fun creative outlet.

It's sad to say this but what your experiencing is normal!

Ohhh the joys of shinyitos, I wish i could say i'm over my 2 yr addiction. Sadly the fact i have the petri rta and proto on the way kinda says differently. My advice is buy Fasttech the shipping is slow but helps save money bc your waiting instead of buying. Also their super cheap and clones are good quality. I've got 5 clones from them all great. Gl with your new addiction!

Yeah, I knew I wasn't alone! At least I ONLY buy on sale and get GREAT deals. VJ deal got my Reuleaux and Alien recently; hence the tank "need."

Welcome to the vape gear addiction, with work and help you too can beat this. I started vaping 2 1/2 years ago and the shinyitus never goes away I have over 60 mech and tube mods, 50 regulated mods, over 120 atties, 40 batterys , and I now DIY my own juice ( so I can buy more gear). Its better now I "only" spend around 250 to 300 a month now. Just remember to pace yourself and do your research. Lots of luck.

This is good advice.
If you do it the way I do it, you too can beat this addiction.
I cure it by buying everything I can.
The concept is once I have everything, there will be nothing left to buy.

The cycle can be broken!

I am at the point where I can proudly say that I only purchase E-Liquids and replacements for things that get broken or wear out.

Or am I lying?:bliss:

I'm done with mods and tanks, DIY my juice and coils, all I buy are RDAs so I got it light.

You guys are all hilarious! I love it; however, I see my plight is doomed, lol. I think the Reuleaux and Alien will keep me going for a good spell. It's the tanks and coils now. I don't use ANYWHERE near the power capability on those mods, but I figured I'd eventually buy them, eventually NEED them, so may as well just get them and avoid wasting time on going up the ladder (see, I save some money there). I have my smaller rigs too, IJust2, Target mini, TC40W, Kanger Subvod mini. My AIOs, one died and one I gave away. I also have a Juul that I rarely use, just in restaurants or stores sometimes. It DID get me off the analogs when the others couldn't. I guess the tobacco salts or nicotine salts the use.
Tanks, I currently have the Cubis, which is going in the trash as it's one with the boiling spitting in your mouth. I tried NotchCoils hoping that would save it. I have a Mermaid that I just started using but not in love with. I have the Melo2 which awesome. I'm using the IJust2 on my Reuleaux, also awesome. I have the Lyche on the way and Vaporesso's Estoc.

Compared to Fossal, I'm in REALLY good shape.
My neighbors were fans of asking me "How many of those do you have?" Listen, they don't get it and I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.

I can't say you're lying however I can certainly say that I have not reached that point.
Then again, I'm not ready to be there.
Too many new toys I want.
haha

The Cleito 120 or original?
I'm not ecstatic about the 120 however the 0.2Ω coils in the original Cleit treats me really well.
Only time I had issues was once I somehow accidently turned my wattage too low.
Otherwise I vape it 55 - 65 watts all day.

The Joytech Cubis, not Cleito. I understand the Aspire Cleito is a very nice tank.
I'd previously tried all the recommendations for avoiding the spitting, then put it away. This last attempt on the Cubis with the NotchCoil, the first vape was heavenly, the next, boiling juice on the back of the roof of my mouth. There's too many choices of tanks that work wonderfully to waste more time on that one.

OH WOW!
I can't believe I looked right at the word CUBIS however I read Cleito.
Absolutely no idea how that happened.
Lack of vape is my excuse, spending so much time unboxing new gear I forgot to take time for a vape.

I call it my indoor playground.
It wasn't long ago (few months) I had to upgrade my shelves for more room.
I'm out of room again and not sure where to go next.
Starting to consider hanging shelves from the ceiling or maybe inventing magical floating shelves.

Rotating shelves! Think the movie "Overboard," the shoe carousel thing he built.

I'd hang my head in shame and admit that I did indeed place an order, but it'd be a lie.
a lie because I'm not ashamed.
hahaha
Ordered another IJOY Combo RDTA.
If I hadn't already spend a small country's annual food budget on gear this month I'd probably place another order tonight.
Then again, it's only 8:15PM, still plenty of time to talk myself into it.

That's alright mate, I just order 900mls of juice from Yaeliq only $12 a bottle. Wife wants to kill me. Guess I better not order that Leaningtree wooden mod I like.

I've got a sore neck from nodding as I read each of the posts here on this matter.
Shiny-itis is a real thing! There is a cure for it, place an order, visit a local shop, trade for something else, etc...always a win-win at the end!
As for justification to spending the money - most of us were smokers - spending hundreds per month and having nothing to show for it but smelly clothes, dirty ashtrays and cig butts that will decompose in 250+ years....
I started with a vape pen 7.5 months ago and now have 10+ mods, regulated as well as mechs, RDTAs, RDAs and RTAs.... wrapping and DiY.... one of the most rewarding hobbies I've ever had! :)
Even with all of my gear, I've still spent less than 50% of what I would have on smokes!
Ohh and yes, this week alone I got another tube mod and another NEBOX (for the Mrs) and most of my shopping is usually done on the weekends! :)

All that did was make me want to order a new RDTA, might as well be the Limitless Special Edition.
I do agree that a normal person would spend much less on vape than stinkies.
Me on the other hand....well, not so much.
However as you said, now I have something to show for it and it is indeed a hobby.
I'm very happy with it all.

Congrats on your 999th message! :)

ahh when you have to add about 30% prices for exchange rates and then get stung up to $60 for p/h it become quite important to try to get the right gear.

I was thinking about the money spent on this vs stinkies too. While I've made a good amount of purchases lately, it's still far less than had I been smoking. And THAT money I didn't think twice about -- well, sometimes I did feel guilty because I hated what I was doing. When those nosy neighbors comment on my setups, I just say I love vaping and want to continue enjoying it. Then something along the lines of MYOFB! LOL.

hahaha, well......it CAN be in the event anyone were to choose to get just one or two setups and stick with them.
I know one person that way.
My wife.
If I didn't get her new stuff and spend an hour convincing her to at least try it because it is so much better than what she is using, she's still be on egoshit.
Me on the other hand... well, I want it all.
I may spend a few $ but at least now I have something to show for it.
With smokes, ashes aren't really something you'd want to show.

Yep. And every time I buy something, I remind myself that I would have spent that money on smokes. That makes me feel better.
Yesterday I got vape mail; new juices. I'm not trying them until my Lyche and Estoc arrive. Sadly, that won't happen till Monday. :vapemail:

MAYBE the anticipation will keep me from making another purchase this weekend.

I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere Iowa. The people in town look at me like I'm the Taliban with a detonator in my hand when they see me with my vape, but I don't care. I quit smoking on a gas station ego and wanted something better, I'm healthier, happier, and a lot less stressed. All in all, F#&@k Off it's my life. (Rant over)

Oh, yeah. I feel so much better as well. Neighborhood end-of-summer party required walking up a long hill, which normally I'd have to stop 3/4 of the way up, pretend I was doing something on my phone so I could catch my breath. This time, I went up that hill at a fast pace, vaping and talking, and was barely winded at all. That was three or four months after making the switch. Huge difference.
Lots of people ask about it. I've helped two people quit, one fail who didn't want to quit anyway, just pressure from her doctor and husband. My skin looks better, I smell far better, people like the way my juices smell, no weight gain. In fact, I've lost weight. Perhaps a combination of food tasting better so I don't crave the high-fat foods and the fact that I can move around more.

About nine months ago I decided to upgrade from my Subox Mini starter kit to an RX200 and a VCMT. I remember thinking, mainly regarding the mod, that I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade again because I had reached the summit. I was mostly trying to justify the price to myself, thought it was insane to spend $120, even on a complete setup. To be fair, the RX(and most other mods available unbeknownst to be) had a staggering amount of features compared to the kbox mini, what more could I want? Well...

I discovered the vaping forums. Down the rabbit hole I went. Now, nine months and $1500 later I'm waiting on my largest purchase yet(Boss 3000 V2, arrives the day after tomorrow:D) and thinking, "what more could I want?" HA!

Yeah, "what more could I want/need?" was my justification, and I figured I'd eventually work my way up to it; however, I got the Smok Alien with batteries AND the RX200S for $80 combined. I COULDN'T pass up that deal. I actually like the Alien better so far. Not as cumbersome. Hopefully my new tanks will satisfy my need for "more" for a bit, other than juices that is. Now to open my vape mail...
