I was thinking of doing a single coil of the same thing on my Theorem for the NC. Curious how it will vape.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
I had a single coil on this avocado. It worked good for me, but going to run this dual and see what I like more. How do you like the therem?

I LOVE that tank. My only gripes are:
1. I wish the airflow was easier to fiddle with.
2. The glass is easily broken when taking it off to rebuild.

But even with those two gripes, HIGHLY recommended. It is amazing.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Keep on mind though...each coil is around .55 ohms. But parallel is making it .26. If you wanna run .24ohms with a twisted single coil you'll have to do 22g kanthal twisted 5 wraps.

Oh no, not on the Noisy Cricket. I like rocking that at around .5Ω. At .25Ω you are very likely to have a very bad day. That's why I was thinking single coil on the Thereom. A cloudy, warm and flavorful vape :)

After I order the new glass for my Thereom I'll try that twisted coil. Thanks for the idea. I'll post a pic after I get her built. Can't wait to try it out.

Some Stuff Ive been Making..

I wanted to make a bracelet for the woman and I thought 18g would work for cores....it didnt see as big as I wanted it...will be granning some Brass 12g soon and retrying it!

3x30KA1/30316L vs 4 Core 26N80/36N80 Flattened....
Normally those 4 Core Alien Cat Tracks are large in most RDA's and I thought this would give some sort of a comparison!

It might be overkill, but this is working extremely well for me.

View attachment 67925
I don't think it's overkill. Especially if you aren't perfectly square.

I got my macro today but nothing to use it on. Struggling with 0.3mm still even after using build modes method of binding. It's hard to even clapton.
I think I'm going to take a break from staggering and work on aliens before I get rusty.
It's easier to alien 3 cores than it is to clapton. Maybe the same is true for 0.3mm.

On a positive note I have an interview with Pepsi tomorrow!

I built a dual twisted 26g kanthal 3mm 5 wrap last night. The ramp up is super slow. Any insight on what to do? Smaller diameter? Larger? Use smaller wire? I normally like to vape at 40w or so
...ramp is even slow at 60w

That is a higher wattage build. I was vaping a dual 2x26g twisted at 90w with my dripper

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Thanks! I can go up to 80w with my mod...but I think I'll just go back to a single coil until I step my mod game up

Raymo2u, I'm pretty active in detroits rave scene, and wire wrap jewelry is really popular, I was thinking along the same lines of using some of fancier wraps for wrapping stones instead of coils because I don't see much more than the occasional round wound.

I hate how I never get any notifacations for this thread anymore...

Its lower in resistance so it heats up more slowly on a parallel box, a small bed of cotton thats combed into the wick ends of the coils feeds it....its definitely for a flavor chaser as 98% of the chamber is taking up and on a thin space is between the cap and all the wire there.

Good to hear, Ive made small pieces before but I really want a large bracelet to wear....no one around here is even into vaping/building unfortunately but I do believe that that type of jewelry attracts more then just vapers..

My goal is to make a 1/2" to 1" wide version of this and similar designs as a bracelet...using copper/brass/silver wires to add some color contrast...I would also make some from ni200/N80 and SS and heat them up, coloring them to make them even more snazzy

I'm really enjoying staged heating coils. Incase you don't know what they are, here is the scoop.
It has any number of smaller wire between bigger wire.depends how you build it. But the idea is the smaller wire heats up faster and in turn heats up the bigger wire faster. So it minimizes ramp up time for clouds and adds surface area for flavor . And they rock!! Here's my newest three strand parallel staged heating coil (2 nichrome N80 26g/ 1 kanthal 24g) clocking in @ 0.16ohms!!

That's an alien. Look up "alien coil" on YouTube - there are tons of tutorials on how to make them. One of my favorites is by Mike Terkildsen. His YouTube channel is called Pristine Builds.

The wire on top of the TM24 build? What I did was use some toothless pointed pliers and grip hard on the wire, then I would use my thumb and force the wire over the end of the plier....just did that a few times and then pulled and made sure it was how I wanted it....
I suggest anyone building to get these pliers, they are nicer then my $40 pliers and they are more useful due to their shape and design...

If your talking about the Alien Wire/Coils then do as @CrazyChef said, MTerk is the king of Aliens...right behind Chef and I ;)

Trying this staple staggered fused clapton nonsense . The beginning of this wire came along very nice and I got half way and missed a few staggered's and the whole wire went to shit. I said fuck it let me wrap it...another terrible idea.

Specs 8ply .5n80 26ga frames staggered with 36n80 fused with 40ga.

All in all this is the good the bad and the ugly side of building. Anyone with tips on this pain in the ass build let me know . This is the look I got when I was done

Figured I'd try one of these 12 ply .4 staggered fused that I keep seeing pictures of. IV never seen one wicked up so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Not perfect but decent for my first attempt. Little more than the ol tsunami was built for tho20161201_021641.jpg 20161201_015153-1.jpg 20161201_020916.jpg
