Couch bag sounds like a snuggie. As goofy as those are, I'd use the hell outta one. And the Coach bag... nope, no way would I pay full price for one. eBay. I didn't pay full price for either one of mine. One was brand new, one was "Gently Used", both under $100, both came with guarantees. I research the hell outta most stuff like that and both were legit. Crazy part - they both looked brand spankin' new and all these years later, I'm still happy with 'em. They don't look brand new anymore, though LOL.

Oooh, thanks for the reminder. Where do I find one of these snuggies? I never DID get her one.
A well worn leather ANYTHING beats a new one. I have a 30 year old motorcycle jacket, I FINALLY got a new one last year because it it has holsters and magazine holders in BOTH POCKETS! How awesome is that? :) But when I wore that old one, nobody could wonder if I was a noob or a weekend warrior. I'd been down TWICE with that coat on, and it had well over 150K miles on it, and it showed. You cannot BUY that stuff. :)

Then you'd jump a curb and kill someone

Not me. I'm a terrific driver, and never ever tailgate, unlike most men I've ever known.

You do know why women's insurance rates are lower, don't you? BECAUSE WE HAVE FEWER ACCIDENTS. Ergo, we're much safer and better drivers than men. :)

While schools obviously are there to teach our kids, a very close 2nd.. agenda, is serving as day care for this "New" America that requires both parents to work and pay taxes. You know, keeping kids off the street, monitoring their well being regarding their care and such as being done at home by the parents, disseminating authorized information, asking our kids if they've ever seen this stuff at home... and lets not forget jobs. The teacher had to drop her kids off at day care to come and watch ours for that half day. SO many jobs.

Out of two parents, surely ONE will be able to take off work yet again, and fear the axe that might eventually bring.

I worked for maybe 8 or 9 months of my son's childhood. But I figured... I'm the one who went to the trouble of gestating and birthing him, so it's my right AND MY RESPONSIBILITY to raise him -- no one else had such a vested interest in how he turned out.

Yeah, we were kinda broke most of the time, but we had enough to eat, and my parents helped out with his clothes. But after he was grown... we were finally able to buy our own home. And I still don't work.

I have to admit when I was a young girl I enjoyed the gift worshiping men performed. One guy wanted me to marry him for money. LOL He was a doctor from Laos needing to become a citizen really quick. My mom ruined that adventure for me.(I just turned 18) He agreed to a certain amount of money and a percentage of his income for a fake wife. I was devastated. I really wanted a fake husband at the time.

P.S. I was young so no judging :)

LOL that is why my mom intercepted my stupid thought process. No way I would have even had sex with the guy. Ew. I just wanted to leave home and didn't have a supportive environment at the time. I decided to finish growing up and became street smart instead. Oh, and do a year in college before dropping out. My major was psychology.

This school happens to be destroying my kid's education. I am so relieved that we just bought a small property outright and will be moving in by the new year. It will be rough at first because itis a fixer upper, but it is ours without mortgage or the exorbitant rent here in S. FL.

Unfortunately, not being able to afford a good private school and not being very religious, my option was public school after we moved here a year ago. The charter school I had her in previously had her on the A B honor roll because it was small and they actually taught and kept kids under control. This damn school has her in a pissy mood every day and bad marks. It is apparently used as a day care.

I am so glad we are moving to a more rural area! With a little hard work and hardly any bills, it is time to LIVE LIFE again!:xD:

Hopefully the southern folk in N.FL will not take any shit from the kids like here where criminal children are allowed to disrupt class every single day without consequences. What ever happened to the paddles from back in my day? I never got the paddle, just the thought got me behavin'!

My little brother is in a "marriage of convenience" (what my father called it anyway). But they are good friends and stay "kind of together". I guess it works for them. lol

If I had a do over I would have sent my son to private school. The schools in the burbs of Milwaukee are shitty.

Good luck on your move!

Public schools now really are very little more than state-funded babysitting, but that doesn't mean it's the only place your kid can learn -- I was very fortunate that my son got the reading bug from me even before he could read; he started kindergarten already at a 2nd grade reading level! Between the library, various educational type shows on TV (Nova, Discovery, NatGeo, Animal Planet, History Channel, PBS, etc), the actual school, and taking him on various outings (once we went out at 4am to watch meteor showers!), and his own love of reading, he managed to get a decent education.

We also moved to a very small rural town when he was a kid; it was a choice between that, and a duplex in what was little more than a slum but nearer Atlanta, so we chose the rural area -- great choice!!!!! He ended up taking several AP classes in his senior year in high school, and anchored the "Academic Decathlon" team, while also participating in Chorus and Honors Chorus -- this from a boy who suffered EXTREMELY with ADD, whom I never would consent to medicate into mediocrity -- I once told a teacher that if she couldn't deal with my square-peg son, just to let me know and I'd get him assigned to a different class. :D

I could think of quite a few people who could use one.

Being one of those freaks that smoked since I was 11 and retained a hypersensitive olfactory sense, this product could come in handy!

When I quit cold turkey (without vaping) this past summer, the experience I got with olfactory and taste buds was a downright assault. It was equal to the sensitive olfactory of pregnancy. Most people say that food tastes and smells so much better, yada yada...

I was downright assaulted with "ordinary everyday smells" that would be overpowering and make me feel ill. On top of the horrible withdrawal I got, it was admittedly harder than with withdrawing from other things that may cause dependency.

Edit: However, a minty fart better smell like straight mint. Not the minty sewage smell I have experienced when driving by the many paper mills and factories when on road trips.

I had the same problem, and still do, to some extent -- started smoking at 13, and could smell a gnat fart, according to my husband. :D Now he says I can smell a gnat fart from down the block. :giggle:

I can smell a smoker in a car from about 100 yds. And that nasty dead-dinosaur smell of road tar, I always hated that worse than anything else... I'll now drive 10 miles out of my way to avoid it.

Weird though; I started getting a sharper sense of smell once I was down to 5 or less smokes per day (and it's only gotten worse since then!), but it took until this past summer for my sense of taste to really start coming back. It's about fucking time!!!

Amazon sells them, probably eBay, too, LOL!

PERFECT! I searched "Snuggie" on Amazon, and got 65 pages. If I were wicked, I would ask the Mrs. to choose. Oh,that is such a cruel trick I do sometimes to amuse myself. It sucks the life out of her soul, well, mine anyway.

We went to that sassy restaurant in Chicago once. The waitress came for the order and the Mrs. says to me "I'm thinking about the blah blah, does that sound good to you?" The waitress put her hand on her hip and said "You're the one's gotta eat it love, why ya askin him?" I wanted to DIE, because I've wondered that for 30 years and never dare asked. BIG tip. Very big. :)

Ed Debevic's? I'm probably spelling it wrong. I went there with my mom and step dad a really long time ago. Our waiter was "Bif" I asked Bif (more like YO BIF!) if I could have some ice because my drink barely had any and it melted, he shouted at me, "Why do you need ice?!" I shouted back and my step dad left the table, LMAO! My mom told me I embarrassed him... I think they didn't realize what the gig was.

they would probably tell you you're doing that wrong too
OK, here's what you do. As loud as you can, and with them standing directly in front of you, shout, "DO YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'??!!" and then you make this face.

After that, they just don't know what to say, so hopefully, they just leave ya alone.

I have been at the car dealership since 830 this morning because, of course the engine light comes on on a fuckin Friday. I got a call from the same dealership while I was in the waiting room saying my car was ready for pick up. I walked over to the service writer to get the car and was informed that it would be another 45 mins to an hour because he is waiting for the warranty company to pay first. He should have submitted the fuckin claim at diagnosis hours ago...

I am becoming increasingly irritated, so fuckin hangry, my atty is almost empty cause im suckin up the juice and I feel like puking.

I should have got the rental but I know that they will milk it even longer if they think I am not waiting.

Never coming back here to these asshats!

Well I finally got home, to husband waiting with food and the only wine I actually like, changed my, (burnt anal hair tasting) coil to the TFV8 that comes with the Alien kit and some fresh Moonies by Milkman, and am all better with only a $53.00 deductible spent at the dealership, if anyone even cares. Always fun to take someone who is not in on the joke. After we were seated, the waitress walked by and FLUNG the menus on the table as she passed. Just trying to keep a straight face was a hoot.

Lol.. some people just have different definitions of a good time, I guess.

When I wanted more water, I groveled, which knocked the Mrs. completely off balance. The waitress was like, pause. nod. "OK". There was PLENTY of weird to be had right there.

Well? What can I say? At 39 years old I have had some life experience that I refuse to regret. If it didn't kill, then it was a lesson that gave me strength. ;-)

Like your namesake, A free mind is a good thing. There are always new ways to have fun, but I most likely have already sampled and tried more than enough of the strange side of life and am still alive. LMFAO!

Yeah I know...Keep in mind though and I'm not trying to be mean here or troll.
But if he hadn't then Dave Grohl would have never formed (Foo Fighters) or (Probot). Both way better bands than (Nirvana) ever was.So in the long run he did us a favor I guess.

I dunno Probot. I do like the Foos though. But better? I dunno... different, though I've noticed that Dave owes a lot to Kurt; lots of songs that end with jangling feedback, like Nirvana. But I recently got caught in a bunch of Youtube crap about Kurt's death, and it just made me sad. He was so talented, and had so much money by then, and didn't get the treatment he needed. As a lifelong sufferer of depression, that just makes me sad. He looks so young, now, in the videos, but he was only 6 yrs younger than me.

Andria

ETA: also -- everytime I hear that Pearl Jam song where he goes, over and over, "I'm still alive"... was that his answer to Kurt's death?

One of my Favorite songs by (Probot)

Oh yes

But better?
Yes IMHO far better.

I'll skip making what might be considered a rude comment...Cheers!

lots of songs that end with jangling feedback, like Nirvana.
Way before Nirvana there was this dude named Jimi Hendrix who did the same thing.Damn near 50 years later and most professional guitarists would still give up a testicle to be half as good.
But I recently got caught in a bunch of Youtube crap about Kurt's death, and it just made me sad.
If talking about the death of somebody young and talented didn't make you sad then I'd be worried.

He was so talented, and had so much money by then, and didn't get the treatment he needed.
Yes he was but I think there are more talented artists around...Some of which have been around for quite some time.

As a lifelong sufferer of depression, that just makes me sad.
We all suffer depression to some degree...No I'm not making light of that.I wouldn't want some idiot making light of my mental issues.
He looks so young, now, in the videos, but he was only 6 yrs younger than me.
He was young...My grandfather died at 107 years old and that is too young according to his wife who out lived him by only 4 months.
ETA: also -- everytime I hear that Pearl Jam song where he goes, over and over, "I'm still alive"... was that his answer to Kurt's death?
Some people believe what Eddie Vedder was referring to was his own brush with death as the song was written before Kurt's death. However I can't find anything to back that up.
There are 2 possibilities as to whom it is about.
#1 - Clayton E. Liggett...He was Vedder's mentor in high school.
#2 - Johnny Ramone...He was Eddie's close friend and was at his side when he died...This is probably the person he meant IMHO.

This is probably the funniest Youtube video I have ever seen. There is SO much going on wrong here. The voice of the guy recording, his buddies "helping"... He didn't factor in sparks and puckerage, either... GOTTA love the report at the end. :tantrum:
