Finder review
Well I finally got my new PC up and running and have some bad news. My Finder 167 is DOA . It won't fire any atomizer, can't lock the fire button, pressing the up and down buttons does nothing. The only thing I'm getting on the display is DNA250 while I hold down the fire button. The minute I release it, the screen goes blank.
On the device monitor it's only showing one cell and I've tried numerous different pairs (HG2's, 30Q's, and 25R's). I've never been able to even fire it once. Here's two different screen grabs. The first one showing the Finder. The second one showing one of my VT133's with the same exact cells that I took out of the Finder.

PS I tried both a soft and Hard Reboot and nothing changed. This is why I'm leery of buying mods from China. Now the fun begins dealing with FT CS. Last time I had a problem they had a USA address to send back things (that was a few years ago). I hope that's still the case. At least I used PayPal.

Well it's not all bad, I searched around my house and was able to find another mod or 10 or 20...NOOOOO!

.I am disappointed, but my luck with DNA mods has been good. You're bound to get a bad one sooner or later. I just wish it wasn't from overseas, That's the worst part because it's going to take forever to either get a replacement or a refund. I'm not too worried though, since I used PayPal.

It powers up so to speak. When I press the power button DNA250 lights but goes off the second I release the fire button. When I'm pressing it with no atty I'm not getting check atomizer or anything other than DNA250. With an atty it doesn't fire either. It seems like it's a chip issue since it's only showing one cell at 5+ volts (the cells were 4.08 and 4.09). It's also showing a USB voltage of 5+v. My other mods are showing 4.9x USB voltage on Escribe and the cells are reading correctly. The short version is it's FUBAR!

I opened a ticket with FT since it's basically DOA. I want to see what they say. I may go the Evolv route but I hate to send them a brand new, never used mod. I'd rather either exchange or get a refund. Like I said I'm going to see what FT has to say and go from there.

That really does suck. Sorry to hear it, but as you said, sooner or later you run into a bad box. I would do the same and go for a replacement rather than rma to Evolv. It is a good looker.

After what happened with my VT133 coming back working but not in as stellar shape may of convinced them to stop that practice all together...

I've always went out of my way to help whoever has asked when it comes to the DNA mods. When I needed their help, well.... I'm disappointed to say the least!
31 days to turn around my VT133 and now the battery meter still doesn't work. Great CS? I sure don't think so. I don't even want to send it back for the battery meter because I'm afraid I'll never get it back.

There mistake should not then shortchange there loyal customer base, I really can't understand there position in this case. If there the flagship of mod chips then they need to act like it. If something goes wrong with my Finder 167 or Triade DNA250 and they ask me to send them the chip I will rip them a new one, I have done it before. If it is one of my DNA75 chipped mods then I might let it pass, not expensive enough to piss me off...lol.

That truly sucks. Sorry for the bad breaks on this one. Too bad as it's a good looking mod.
When I get home from work tonight, I'm going to contact PayPal and see if I can just get a refund. I've done everything they have asked up to and including posting a video. They don't even have the mod in stock. I'm not in the mood to wait another month and a half minimum just on the hopes I might actually get one that works this time.

just got my triad 250. love it so far, but the finder 167 feels like a better quality which makes me think that the finder 250 would be a better quality. anyone by chance have both?
Well that would be tough for me to say. I have quite a few LV mods and all have been high quality. I only have one Think Vape mod and it doesn't work out of the box. I'm not saying TV makes bad mods, I just wouldn't say they are higher quality than LV. It's probably just bad luck on my part, but having my first mod from a company not work is a bitter pill to swallow.
PS I really like the Looks of the Finder 167, the way mine works - not so much

i meant more build quality. like the mod itself, the finish on it, the battery doors. the finder 167 feels better built then the triad. not to say the triad is bad. it has a nice build quality too, i just think the finder has a better one so i was curious

If you can't get the Triade replaced or refunded. Lost Vape has a USA repair center in Ohio and you can get it fixed through them.
Wismec makes the Reuleaux DNA200, not the Lost Vape or Think Vape mods. Wismec is owned by Joyetech
