Too little, too late?

Was wondering what VJ is referring to when he says the DNA40 is "too little too late" when compared to the 180w God mod. Is it just the wattage number, price or the chip itself?

Personally, I would rather have the DNA40 over ANY regulated device out there right now, although regulated devices are not really my thing anymore.

Just referring to the sheer power available, I would assume. 40 watts plus a temp control versus 180 watts? Sounds like a no-brainer if no other variables were involved. (Price, quality, etc)

Yeah, that's what I figured, but not a apples to apples comparison IMHO. Someone looking to fire up a .2ohm coil at 5volts is likely not to give a shit about temperature or possible effects it has on e-juice. If anything, I would think the God mod is "too much, too late"

agreed, i hate this notion that more watts is better or somehow more valuable. i mean they are a cool part of the market but not necessarily "superior" to lower wattage devices, all about the vaper and how they vape

But, as long as guys play the 'my dick is bigger than yours', vendors will continue to push the envelope. IMHO, of course.

Reminds me of a South Park episode of "pokemon" that had Japanese manufactures distract angry parents of kid buying too many pokemons by telling them they have "huge American penis" LOL

So true. Penis envy has somehow become the metaphorical standard when it comes to mods and it's sad. Everyone is different and has different needs. I always believed that vapors should get and be satisfied with whatever keeps them from smoking. If you use a cheap 650 or 900 milliamp battery and it works for you then great. Like your Protank v1 awesome no need for a Nautilus etc.. Just get whatever works it's not a competition.

I see zero need for 40w. I have an rDNA and have never even pushed it to 30w. I usually stay around 13-14w on my Kayfuns and 23w on my drippers. But as people feel the need to push the envelope manufacturers will oblige.

It is really no different than smartphones. A few years ago no one saw the need for 1080p displays and 3GB of RAM. That is the norm in most higher end smarthphones now. There are some that are even touting 4k displays now.

It does really boil down to "big dick" syndrome.

The only thing that intrigues me about a regulated device such as the IPV V3 or the Sigelei 100w or the God Mod is the increased battery capacity
I stopped in last night in a Brick and Mortar and hung out for a bit as the younger crowd were doing a Tornado competition crazy stuff
but one guy had the IPV V3 the only reason I would get one would be for the dual batteries but my vaping habits are much different than some
I work from home so I just have multiple devices all loaded and ready to go... What I found interesting was the younger crowd they were not cloud
chasing they kept talking about build quality "It wont break etc" and they all were using Mech's I think its a interesting situation right now I have my IPV V2 and I never sub ohm with it below .8 (magma rda) in fact I rarely use crazy voltages so whatever the ride is I think I am going to watch and wait. :)

Like I said during last night's broadcast... the dna 40 isn't looking to parade around the biggest dick in the land, it's all about being the safest.

As for Joe, he has a way of spouting off with shit before he himself has been properly educated... But he HAS done one thing, he's gotten you HERE talking about it. Thats what he does, he generates traffic. Win for VaporJoe. :)

Got to take what Joe says with a grain of salt , he is a HUGE supporter and lover of Evolve tech but he also likes to make headlines and making that kind of statement leads to much discussion (obviously) and that's good for business.

Got to read between the lines , it's pretty easy to figure out.

Oops looks like the above post explained it already , didn't see it till i posted.

Completely ignoring the temp stuff the DNA40 is a fine chip with many improvements over the 30 and the China stuff and at only $10 more than the 30 ($60) it's a great value too. Seems like every issue folks had with the 20 and 30s has been taken care of.

- 1W to 40W.
- Will fully regulate with a .16Ω load
- Reverse battery protection

That alone is enough .

It will also work if you drop below .16Ω, Evolve says it will fire at .06Ω, just that it will be 'soft limited', which as far as I gather the performance remains at the .16? level. Pretty damn cool.

Perhaps but without Joe we wouldn't have this great forum to share and converse with one another. I'm thankful for his valuable contribution.
