well guys and gals here are my very first self made coils. Nothing spectacular or crazy. Just some twisted 24g. I was a bit intimidated at first but after doing tons of research I figured it was time. And let me tell you I had a blast! The vape is great too. The flavor is amazing. Just was very happy with my first build I wanted to share it with you guys. Have a great day and vape on!

Nice work!
My first "fancy" build was twisted 26. I've just started making fused, and staggered fused claptons.

Just wait, things go faster and faster. Things like Clapton's become so easy you can do them in your sleep. Things that took forever before you will do in 10 minutes. While I'm still very very much a noob to building, things are getting faster and easier by the day. The feeling you get from building a cool coil or making something for the first time is incredible. Keep at it, there is lots of fun and cursing ahead.

Congrats. I didnt have the same luck as you when i made my first one. I probably went through 12 feet of coil making multiple ones. I really like micro twisted kanthal. super easy to make and easier to count the number of wraps.

Yeah I hear you on the counting wraps. I will like to eventually buy some wire and build a coil that works well with Tc. I have never used it before as I'm pretty sure you can't use Tc with KA

I will have to recommend SS316L for TC mode. I recommend it because it runs in both TC and VW. Very nice to work with also.

I don't have either mod so I can't really say much about them. But I do have plans on getting the g2.

Not gonna say what mod? o_O
:teehee:

The Hohmwrecker G2 and Slice will TC kanthol, and any other wire. I have a Slice.
I had just started digging to find ones that would. I wasn't aware that it was supported on MODs yet.

Only the Hohmtech FSK chip does kanthol. They say they supply that board to a few mod makers, but they won't say which. I do know that no DNA chip can do it.

I don't much do TC but I really need it for some of the builds I wanna try. The whole being able to go down to .000001ohm thing is right up my alley. I only use SS at the moment because I hate the taste of kanthal and from my background I don't like the other types of coil making materials. Unfortunately SS is a rather low ohm material.

I guess it's for wire wizards like raymo2u who make wild artsy builds.

Ya, must be. That kinda of shit would fry my mouth, and the back of my skull!
That's where the TC comes in handy ;)

Is it the slice that goes that low? I know one of em does. Either way .007 is more than low enough.
NM it's the slice. 0.000001 ohm limit.
Yeah the Slice goes lowest. I guess they just wanna show off how good the FSK chip is.
It definitely works. I TC the stock kanthol SMOK coils in my Baby Beast with it every day.

Awesome first build. My first build was just a 26g 3mm ka1 coil. Now my most intricate build has been either twisted or I'm rocking a 24g/29g ss parallel in my Combo Tank atm. That is vaping pretty awesome. I'm going to try my first fused clapton soon too. I hope you enjoy building as much as I do.

Thanks man. Yeah I enjoy it like crazy. I really enjoy the hobby aspect of vaping a whole lot. Not only did it get me to quit cigs but I also enjoy the tinkering.

Same here. I never was very good with my hands, but I did alot of computer work. I have really learned alot here on this forum, and build has created a whole new vape experience. Can't wait to try my first fused clapton. If you are interested in trying some good coils like fused claptons or aliens and such before you try your hand at building them, Crazy Chef makes good ones at www.purecoils.com, also www.advancevapesupply.com is a great exclusively stainless steel coil builder. Both are good guys and fellow VU members.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually do want to try a set of stainless steel coils so I can run temp control for the first time. Want to see what the difference is.

The only wire I have is 24g and 29g ss, was my first wire order. It gives a very clean taste. Only problem is how low resistance it is. If you decide to try it, just make sure to build high enough to be safe.

IMG_1897.JPG Ok guys since my first twisted coil I shared with you above I have been bitten by the building bug. I just love everything about it and one day hope to progress into the more artistic coil builds. I'm updating this thread to show you guys my first ever Clapton coil attempt. Well actually this is the third attempt because the first two times I didn't get anything I could use out of it So here it is my first Clapton wire I can actually make use of! I used a single 24g core with 32g outer wrap. Going to order some smaller outer wrap and have a go with that too. Probably 38 or so. Just want to give props to people who make this look easy, because after holding the drill and spool my wrists and hands were screaming!

I have made one Clapton coil (with the help of the local vape shop). It came out great! I wish I had the necessary equipment to make Claptons at home. Luckily, simple twisted coils are doable at home. :)
