MMMM Interesting, really like the juice fill and the way it looks. Top air sucks balls but it can be shut off and it has bottom air.

It says it has anti spit back which I'm not a fan of 99% of the anti spit back out there so I'd like to see down the drip tip to see how they do this before I'd pull the trigger on one.

That's what I was thinking - I hate top airflow. I sent an email asking for a pic of the anti-spitback feature.

i don't mind top air if it's in addition to bottom air. as long as it can be closed if needed.

Yep, like the Crius Plus. I actually have cracked it open a tad at times if I have a hot build in that tank.

I was really excited about the Neutron RDA by Wismic with it's Velocity inspired neutral post. IMO the top air killed it, still got it but the flavor just isn't there due to it.

Same issue with the inde duo for me in 30mm mode muted flavor. Not bad in 22mm mode with a better top cap though

I wonder if the anti-spitback is removable

IDK i like the anit spit back tip in my pharaoh personally. also the navigator BX while it doesn't have a traditional spit back because the design of the positive pin it blocks it anyway.

Outside of that i haven't seen anything I like with anti spit back but i think it was more issues with the tank designs themselves then the spit back feature

Well, I now have a black and gold one on its way here. I hope it doesn't suck.

Deal killer for me, unless you can remove it or easily cut it out I won't mess with it.

That's way to intrusive for me to even mess with, bummer for it looked like a decent RDTA.

Let me know ... If it's removable, you can put me down for one.

It doesn't look removable from the pics, but we'll see when it gets here.

Roger that, if it's not; I will wait for the v2.
Syntheticloud has been good about listening to its customers in the past. I hope they keep that trend.

Just got mine today. Spitback protection not removable. But man, this thing is really good. Airflow is refined and very suitable for my taste. Certainly not ready to call it the best RDTA I've tried yet after less than one day's use, but my first impression is very favorable. Everybody has their own personal preferences, but IMO if you take a pass on this because of the nonremovable spitback, you're missing out.

So after another full day's use, I'm still pretty happy with it overall. But... I think you guys are right about the spitback protection, in the sense that it does seem to subtly restrict the flavor. Which is a shame because, even with that, the flavor it produces is really good. It could just be that much better with nothing to impede the vapor flow. That said, the spitback protection serves double duty on the Alpine, as it also holds in place the cap to the center fill port, which is one of the device's signature features. But seems to me they could have a removable fill port cap that's not affixed to the chuff cap or top cap that would not be nearly as restrictive on the vapor flow.

Still happy with the purchase, and I'm still thinking the Alpine is a really good RDTA. It's kinda what the bottom airflow version of the Avocado 24 should have been. I'd say if you like the Avocado 24 (either version), you'd really like the Alpine (even with the vapor flow-restricting spitback protection).

I will eagerly await a version 2 of this device that will hopefully improve on this design.

I wouldn't spend $55 on this though.
Just the way my budget is. I can probably find it cheaper in a few weeks.
