After doing this you just glue the binding then pull all the cores as tight as you can then glue it an inch from the end, bind the rest.
I understand now thanks, it's hard for me to picture what someone is trying to say sometimes.
I just saw your previous way with he paperclips in another thread on Alien help.

Raymo and CrazyChef have a good way too. Twist one core around the swivel and loop the other 2. Put an eyehook or a paperclip in the drill and bend all the cores around it and twist them up like I pictured in the other thread. Makes more sense in a picture.

The handvice will come in handy when you start making wide pitchforks, SSFCs, staggertons and the like. I'm not sure if it will be any more effective than a chuck will be with 3 or 4 cores. That's why I still don't have one...well my lack of batteries is what's keeping me from going that wide but w/e.

It looks a lil funky to me. Guess I've been spoiled from looking at all you pros' stuff, lol.
Your wraps just need to be a little tighter - it comes with practice. Otherwise, they're perfect! I bet they vape great!
Rafael X by Uwell - 24mm not bad either. Complaints I have are only 2 airflow options and the neutral post is wobbly
Uwell has 'em on sale for $9.99, so I got one in SS and one in black.

Buddy got a Double Vision yesterday so I built him up both decks. Taking the RDA plunge. Pretty sure he is never looking back to tanks again.

Ran his stuff through the ultrasonic. IDK if he got a clone or what. But my red ring is still perfect after several baths. Pretty sure it is anodized. His lost the paint on the first run. And the machining on the post holes is not totally perfect. Good. But not perfect. Bit of a burr on the holes and one of the post screws seems just ever so un-centered. Got from Myfreedomsmokes and billed as authentic. What say you?

It might be defective...my buddy ordered a Griffin 25 off Amazon. I told him where to get one but he wanted to save 2 dollars or so. Got this:
e6052e3b12a6e23e19d4c51c9d14a8df.jpg

It looks/feels like a real one in every way but this. The right post is a Griffin post. The other one isn't at all. Different post holes and it's square. The real ones are rounded on the inside. What's crazy is it's not the removable post. It's one with the deck...idfk what it is.

But it was billed as "authentic" from MFS which "seems" like a legit vendor. So maybe they were duped? Yeah, that griffin obviously has problems.

He is contacting MFS. Hopefully they take care of him. Absolutely terrible if they don't.

Everything else about it seems identical. The drip tip was insanely tight in the cap too. Pretty sure mine was not. Damaged his o-ring just taking it out. After a soap water bath even.

He got it for $40 when the going rate is $65ish. Shoulda been a red flag. Everything I have bought that is "on sale" or "discounted" seems to at least be sub-par. So, they likely knew it was not authentic. But billed it as authentic anyways.

Cleaning it is more important than the wattage you use. As long as the coil has been cleaned and you don't blow past the color it will be fine.

When I use n80 stacks in SSFCs with n80 or SS wrap I pulse at 150w so the strips of n80 will heat up before the frames and other ribbon. Like so:

Damn man those are bangin. Super nice job and pics too

Some new stuff....

Triple Framed Stagg.
10 x .3R Core/ 1PLY .3R Frames/44TMN80 Stagger and Fuse
It was pretty accidental, I was tryin to make a 44g skip fused stagg and then I was going to grove fuse another ply on with 48g....similar to something @gregstephens2 made but just a bit crazier....When I did the skip fusing I thought I was only skipping one space but that 44g is tiny, I was skipping 2 spaces. I added a ply of .3 and then a fuse and did this again...

Do you use a magnifying lamp or visor for the fusing?!?

I got some vape mail friday and was really impressed with the coils that came with the limitless rdta classic. Looks like some triple core claptons, 28 or 26g with 34g wraps. Really clean looking and a great vape off them. For an iJoy made product i was surprised. 0120172107.jpg 148531359794769754260.jpg 1485313715813-49130011.jpg
This last pic is after 3 days of hard use and theyre still kickin strong. I have an avocado 22 & 24 but this one is giving them a run for their money. Plus it comes with an extra build deck (velocity), a pre-made coil head (havent used it), and an rda deck that i havent used as well. I highly recommend it though. The build space on the postless deck is gigantic. You could easily fit 5mm ID coils in there...maybe bigger if you trim the wicks. Has any of you guys made a crazy ass build in one of these before?

Made a wire strand tonight as well. Too late to coil it up and mount it but im pretty proud of it! All 0.5 ribbon cores and frames with 36g ss stagger and fuse. The core is 8 ply and thr frames are 3 ply ribbon. I did a skip stagger cause originally i was going to frame it out again with some 26g ss but i decided that it would be really low resistance and too damn hard for me at this point! I probably could have got it but it would be ugly af and my stagger was already wonky. Either way im a happy camper i even did anything with ribbon like this lol0125170024_HDR.jpg

Is there a trick to wrapping ribbon coils without effing them up or just hold em tight and go for it? The last staple coil i made i messed up bad in the coiling process. And whats the proper name for that last wire shot i posted? Staple staggerton? Idk

OK, it's not the coil porn everyone else is putting up, but I have made my first staggered fused Clapton. 2x 26KA1/2x 38 N80. The picture sucks, don't have a macro lens for the phone yet... They aren't perfect, but they are hitting pretty good and that is what counts!

This would qualify as a Staggerton or a "Stagg"
A Staggered Core Framed and Fused makes a Staggerton. I would like to add you did a good job, looks similar to what I made when I first started making them so keep practicing!

If you can open instagram and look during the morning hurs 10-12am EST US Time I usually do live-streams showing tricks and tips on how to make them easier and more efficiently.

Man im pissed...those "staggs" (thanks ray for clarity) i made last night...i tried coiling one up and it turned into a mangled shit pile that i dont think I can even vape now. I really wanted a dual coil outta that but now im fucked. As soon as i tried to roll the wire around my screwdriver it started a wave that i couldnt contain. I tried to keep going and it got worse and worse. So i tried straightening it out...no way thats happening. Its a sad night for me:(

Yeah they're fucked. Coiling all ribbon coils is very difficult. It's all in that first wrap. Hold the leg down with your thumb and grab the rest an inch or two from the mandrel. Pull away from the mandrel while slowly making a circle. Make sure you fuse it tightly.
If you've made dual coils you should cut the stick in half first.

First ribbon framed staple I did went all wavy too.
Luckily i did cut the stick in half so i still have one good one...im just scared to mess with it now. It took me a good 2.5 hours to make an 8" piece and it hurts to see it go to waste. Its .5 ribbon so that could be part of my problem along with my inexperience with ribbon. Im gonna try to wrap the other around a 3.5 or 4mm bit instead of a 3 and see how that goes. As the saying goes..if at first you dont succeed (rip out your hair, scream, pound your chest and then run naked through the woods lol)

Im gonna try this build again with .4 and see how that goes. Having round wire as the frames seems to be a lot easier. I made a set of staple coils and the round wire held it together nicely. If i would have completely fused the wire instead of skip staggering it eould have been stronger too. My original plan was to fuse some round wire to it but decided against it. Wish i would have tried it now. I have one more piece left over about 4.5" long. Hopefully i can get 2 small coils out of it, mount it in the rafale x using that negative post and keep my ohms up.

Yeah, too bad it doesn't work for N80 or SS316L

Useful in that capacity, I have had some coils get jumbled/mixed on the table and ended up with a wtf is what situation, didn't think of that could have i.d.' the kanthal so thank you very much...

Yes , I'm afraid so, to discuss the details about this I would refer you to send a pm to Smokie, whether or not he wants to share those with you.
Its okay, I just didnt understand if the site was having issues of what happened...but thank you for the clarification

I'm new at this game, too, so I can't say with any confidence where it went wrong.
Did you reverse the drill to wrap the decore?
