Stats are exact to the LG but it will take someone unwrapping and testing like they did the efest to know for sure. I personally wouldnt touch them till the flashlight battery experts put it through the paces.

Now that the Sonys are no longer available, just what IS the best to use? I hear this and that, but nothing that I would consider concrete.

I guess this whole battery thing is something drummed up by the FDA?

Roger, just say it's true that sony is not making them any more.

What is the next battery to use. LG Mybe.

Ok for how long and how many would a huge battery company like Orbtronic order at a time I would like to know I have seen pretty good battery tests on LG. I never go below .5 ohm but would like a 20 amp battery for that

I have a Ana (hana clone) it calls for sony's 4 or 5.
Just say I couldn't get any sonys. It won't hurt my mod if I use lg's. Right. I don't sub ohm.

And.. THAT.. is the info I'm looking for. I just got a DNA 30 to use with multiple coils at higher wattage. I bought that, when I couldn't find the V1 Stingray (Brass) in stock. (I wanted the Infinite clone) I have a feeling that the whole battery thing is a part of the FDA's little gig.

Could very well be. But sony could just be saying that to cover there ass. Just in case someone try to sue them.

Short version of Vaping Show Broadcast I watched- Sony Rep meets with Illumination Supply at Sony's request. Sony Rep wants to learn more about the E-Cig market. When asked about the 18650 vtc batteries Sony Rep explains a production plant in Japan was closed due to nuclear plant meltdown. New plant built in Philippines- Production steadily moved from 20% plant capacity to now 60% and rising. Sony had to supply batteries to its major customer meanwhile. Sony Rep indicates Sony is becoming more interested in E -Cig market not less. I believe I found the link to the Broadcast about the interview on ECF

yeah same here. just ordered some myself to see if these can be a proper replacement, but by no means I am not fully equipped to make a hard factual comparison to the Sonys just checking if they don't blow up in my hand and life time in my mods. Also might have some loose numbers to help out.

So far the MXJO 18650 is doing good in my sx350 mod. Been using @30w on a .5ohm single coil 24ga in the morning before work and during my breaks as usual. The sx is showing me its at 3.8v after a full charge last night. I will give them a go in my mechs this weekend and let you guys know what they do.

My local shops are pushing the MXJO, I just can't justify the cost. I've stocked up on 8 LG's along with my 3 VTC5's, and I'm very pleased with the LG's. I trust the shops that are recommending them, just I can get two LG's for about the same price, and they more than exceed my needs. They're solid batts. I'm glad the MXJO's seem good. It's always good to have more options.

Agree, i have 3 vtc5's, and 3 LG he2's and honestly cannont tell the difference in discharge or charge rates. Attys are sitting at .5 & .6 ohms.... 2 for 17 bucks from GenuineCells on ebay

I vape at 1.2 and can't tell a difference either, mine are all from GenuineCells, too, I got his last VTC's in August. Really great vendor, though since he's been popularized on here and vapor joes blog, shipping has slowed a bit. I'm glad he's getting business he deserves it. I gotta thank @AdamSenior for the reference to him.

SAMSUNG-20R - 22A CONTINUOUS 120A Burst/Pulse (1-2sec) / SAMSUNG-25R - 20A CONTINUOUS 100A Burst/Pulse (1-2sec)... Just like Sony VTC's were 30A CONTINUOUS 150A Burst/Pulse (1-2sec)... So in turn ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND*** SAMSUNG INR18650-20R & SAMSUNG INR18650-25R  LG HE2's are ok, but no true stats on Pulse Amperage so NOT recommended

The DNA 30 based mods have a 12 amp limit any battey will work in them that is 10amp continous or more the only time you would need lets say a Sony VTC5 or a LG HE or a VTC 4 VTC 3 or others I will not mention till they are tested is when you are running the CHDNa chip close to 30 watts otherwise you never meet the amp limit

Of course... I give credit where credits due, and with buying batteries online, I'm truly appreciative you led me there, both for price and trustworthiness ;)

I just got two Samsung 25Rs from GenuineCell. Really glad I was able to come across this vendor. And just from the few comments on this thread I'm feeling even more confident about doing future business with him.

I used my Samsungs yesterday and have to say that so far I am 100% satisfied with how they perform.
I very rarely go below 0.5 ohms but I almost always keep my vape at 0.5 ohms.
I noticed no difference between the Samsung and the VTC5s I have.

I'm gonna give it a good solid week of vaping with both before I make a full conclusion.
But like I said, as of right now I am very happy with the Samsung 25R

Ok so those are LG INR18650-HG2 20A 3000mah
- Capacity drops to 2800mAh at 2.80V for 5A and 10A.
- Capacity drops to roughly 2675mAh at 2.80V for 15A and 20A.
- Six cycles at 20A showed no loss of performance, indicating that the cell wasn't being badly overstressed. Discharge #6 had a slightly lower voltage under load but greater capacity. A 10A discharge done after this showed no loss in capacity.
- Four cycles at 25A did not show a visible loss in performance but the overall voltage drop was significant and the cell got too hot to recommend a CDR higher than 20A.
- A 10A discharge done after this though showed a 3% loss in capacity at 10A. Not much on its own but it does indicate that slow damage is being done at 25A.

BOTTOM LINE: Those are a solid 20A continuous discharge rating/maximum continuous discharge (CDR/MCD) cell.

Don't buy batteries from amazon, eBay or any third party site. Use a known, trusted vendor.

I returned the button tops but did get 4 of the Flat Top Orbtronic 3000mah High Drain 3.7v, H-IMR 18650. (Dimitri *pbusardo's friend* showed the same brand but #22 in his video 3 years ago and loved them.) When I found these a vaper was a reviewer. Says he uses them with his rx200 and they work beautifully. I found others on YouTube that have the same as well. I did order them from Amazon but were advertised by Orbtronic themselves. Nicely boxed with soft foam, a really nice case and the batteries. I'll be using the red LG's with my rx200 as soon as I get them. Hmm...I wonder if I forgot to order the batteries...AND the mod! Shopping during sales is insane.

Whew! Thanks for the chart! Very Informative. It's good to know I've purchased great batteries! Now, to check to see if I actually did order my red rx200. Ugh! IS THERE A WAY TO TAG THIS POST FOR FUTURE REFERENCE???

Welcome. The only option I know of is to click the link to watch the thread. If there's a way to tag for later reference, I haven't spotted it (but I can sometimes be slow on the uptake)
