There is 1 issue I had from vaping that I DON'T like. The fact I got all my taste buds back - there are foods I don't like anymore. Which is strange. Anyone else ever experience that?

I had just the opposite problem, since i started being able to taste food again i started to love everything. All foods became such and explosion of flavor for my taste buds. In fact i think i have gained about 25lbs since i started vaping cause i enjoy the taste of food so much.

Yeah I gained weight also. There are just a few foods now that I don't like the taste of anymore. Most I like better though, lol.

As a smoker, I thought there was no such thing as too much soy sauce. heheh

All of the recurring cig moochers I do not miss, they can kiss my vaping ass! :p:D

As a vaper though, I enjoy giving away my old vape gear to a worthy person.

I don't miss being tired and smoking in bed and finding the cigarette has made an artist hole in your blankets.
I don't miss that it was a time sink and I had nothing to show for it but empty boxes I made into a cat castle.
I don't miss forgetting I had a cigarette lit and lighting another one.
I don't miss spending $12 dollars a day on my two pack a day habit, though I did make a pretty bitching cat castle till my white shepard decided to eat the castle cause he was bored.

Yep, I used to love super hot chili and Thai food, but now, well not so much anymore.

I don't miss:

  • Having a hacking fit when I stepped into a hot, steamy shower
  • Having a hacking fit when I went from the A/C inside to the humid outside
  • Having a hacking fit when I want from the outside to the A/C inside
  • Having to dry clean my suits once every week to get rid of the smell
  • Having a smouldering ashtray in my truck
  • Having to deal with not being able to climb 3 sets of stairs without wheezing and hacking
  • Driving to the convenience store in a rush before they closed at night to pick up a pack of smokes
  • Dealing with neer'do wells that sold untaxed cartons of smokes from the trunk of their car
  • Being $0.50 short and having to buy "generic" smokes
  • Having 0 energy and not going for weekend hikes with my kids, I'm an avid hiker and camper once again
  • Fighting with the wife over who smoked the last cigarette, the person that did had to go to the store to get more.
  • Constantly having to deal with self-righteous assholes who thought that hassling me about smoking was their personal duty
  • The big one: Not spending $14/day on smokes.

I don't miss shreds of tobacco all over my purse that worked it's way into my pack of gum.
I don't miss my hair, car and clothes reeking of cigarette smoke.
I don't miss spending $200.00+ on cigarettes every month.

I DO miss my waistline. Food. It's so good now.

Same thing happened to me and the spousal unit.

Our heat/spice tolerance has dropped, especially with Jamaican Jerk seasoning.
I used to love sauteed baby octopus. Not any more.

I don't miss the smell
I don't miss spending money on high end perfume just to have it masked.
I don't miss having to go inside the gas station
I don't miss buying lighters
I don't miss coughing at night
I use to put a lot more salt on my food. Now, it is seldom added.
Now that I can smell things better I spend more money on scented things. candles/air fresheners/drawer pillows

So how much did you spend on mods and tanks? :) Six months and counting.

The best thing that I found was that I could drive with the windows up. And the car doesn't smell like ass.

I don't miss trying to figure out if I had enough cigarettes to last through the night. I always got it wrong.
I don't miss taking a shower only to have my hair smell like an ashtray a couple hours later.
I don't miss not being able to re wear a shirt because it stunk like stale smoke.
I don't miss missing out on the after dinner conversation because I was outside smoking.
I don't miss the overflowing ashtrays on my porch or the ashes in my car.

So how much did you spend on mods and tanks? :) Six months and counting.

The last few years as a smoker I used a top-o-matic injection machine and natural "pipe" tobacco. That saved me a lot of money, about $1.30 per pack.
I was a slave to that machine each morning as I churned out forty cigs. Now there is something I don't miss! If I use those figures as my vape budget, I'm looking at about $950.00 per year.

I have every vape related receipt in a stack and I'm afraid to total them all up.
If I haven't already blown through my first years vape budget, I'd be surprised.
Somehow , I found a 454 big block and Tobeco Zenith drippers in my mailbox today. :D

I miss the old coupons, My Mom use to joke about how she was going to get a free lung replacement from Reliegh (sic) coupons she saved. Years later it was Camel and Marlboro. I still got stuff from both.
Love my Camel lamp...
The taste buds are still gone but getting better, but 50 years of smoking, it will take time...

heheh tick22, I still have a brass Camel Joe zippo lighter. If I were wiser, I wouldn't have had them engrave my initials in it. Heck, if I dig through my linen closet, I may even find a Camel Joe beach towel.

I do not miss:

Thrice weekly cigarette runs
too many cigarette buds in my ashtray
loose tobacco in my purse
going outside in the winter to smoke
feeling uncomfortable while smoking around non smokers
obsessing about when I could smoke my next cigarette
my middle and index fingers turning yellow in the spot that I held my cigarette
smelling like a smoke cloud right after a cigarette
cigarette ashes flying back into my car window
having to change cigarette brands in order to cut cost ....

Remembering I said I would quite when they reached a dollar a pack.
The feeling of guilt from lying to my parents when young.
Cloths smelling like smoke.
Body smelling like smoke.
Full ash trays.
Burn holes in my cloths and car interior.
The feeling of being out of smokes (although a dead battery and no way to charge is pretty bad too!)
Smoking outside in bad weather.
Discovering someone smoked my last one.

I don't miss...
trying to clean the yellow film off the inside of the car windshield
coughing up phlegm with spots of blood in it
having the wind blow my long hair across the lighter while trying to light up
freezing my ass off outside at 10 degrees in the winter (-10 in the wind)
finding a $1.00 cig butt I wasted by letting it burn up while busy
people bumming
Have I saved $$$ ...NOPE
Do I have something to show for my $$$$$ ...YEAH OHhh Yeah

I have found there are some foods I like less now and discovered new cravings. Some food tastes extra nasty to me that I thought I liked.

Ice cream taste much better now. ;-)

Dont miss the smells, dirt, taste, cost and I feel so much better.

hoping I stopped early enough unlike both parents. father lost his battle to cancer 12 yrs ago. He chained smoked unfiltered lucky strikes for many Yrs. My 75 yr old mother had been dealing with COPD for about 3yrs. And just recently found out she has cancerous nodules on thyroid and back of throat.

Not to be a downer but I know many survivors. Early detection and getting rid a stinkies saves lives.
