I won that atty, it's supposed to be enroute, from China.....:deadhorse:

That's right - you won their contest.

I just want to see how an RDTA squonks, lol

Actually, I've never used a true RDTA in any capacity. I traded my unloved Tsunami for a Limitless, but haven't built it yet. Been about two months

Only two months? Take your time, there's no need to rush things.:vino:

That sounds about spot on. I'm gonna play around a bit with some nichrome and ss builds around .5

Post build pics if you have any issues. I think in the most general sense you may need to get used to down shifting the amount of wick you require when using a squonker versus dripping.

You're good on that Reo down as low as 0.2 ohms. Shiny, shiny gold! You got a good deal on those 2 devices.

So a little research and I found a little bit of a gold mine for those of you into the older atties....
Delaware vapor has a section for historic gear and there's a ton of authentic gear fairly cheap.
I got another derringer with a BF pin for $46 shipped....
I'm going nuts on these atties I missed out on in my reo days because I refused to have a hangover lol.
https://www.delawarevapor.com/The-Derringer-RDA-by-Praxis-Mods-p/praxisatty.htm

Bump.

Just did a "cart check" and they still have Derringer's in stock. So if ya still want one ya can still get one.

Pindad is much better than the Gaia in my opinion. Gaia hits like a multi airflow (bottom, side) RDA, which isn't for me. Even with the side airflow closed it was too much air. There was no feeling of restriction on the draw. The Pindad hits like my Drifter or Hadaly.

I packed my Gaia up. You can have it for the price of shipping plus a sandwich. (Please don't ship me a sandwich)

Ok, so my squonking journey begins!

Picked up these two today from a guy selling on cl. Therion came with all original packaging including atty, spare bottle etc. Reo came with card and instruction sheet along with the 510 adjuster.

Now I just have to figure out how the he'll to work the DNA stuff as this is my first. Gonna plug it in and play around with escribe as I can't seem to find the basic presets (previous owner had a bunch in there but I don't know how to see what their actual values are.)

For the Reo what type of build should I go with using tobecco velocity v2?

Thanks for all your help and support with my squonking adventure!View attachment 77735 View attachment 77736

Hey guys, since you all in this thread are like my peeps, I need a mentor. Montana is on the cusp of enacting a 75% tax on everything vaping. Hardware-wise, since I run mechs, and single coils, I'm not too freaked out. But the juice thing would kill me. Time to DIY. Can someone please let me stand on their shoulders and tell me how to get going? I've looked at a ton of threads over in the diy forums, but since I'm a visual learner I'm not quite getting it. For example, here's a recipe that I'd think would be a good starting point:

2% FA ry4
1% FA vanilla bourbon
.5% FA caramel
.5% FA catalan cream
.5% FA walnut

I vape 80/20 vg/pg at 3mg nic.

How in the hell do I get this together? A shopping list, a vendor, and assembly instructions would be tremendously helpful. And if this shouldn't be here in this section feel free to delete...

Shop around for flavorings (I tend to stick with Bull City, Nicotine River, ECX & GremlinDIY). Grab a funnel.

For nicotine, stick with either Nicotine River or CarolinaXtracts (NR is cheaper but CX has better stuff). Buy 100mg strength nic, it's cheaper and gives you more play with mixing

Nicotine River can also hook you up with VG & PG. buy more VG than PG

Buy dark amber dropper bottles (personally prefer 60ml bottles as my mains and 10ml plastic droppers when I'm testing recipes).

Buy a digital scale from Amazon

Use AllTheFlavors and ELR for recipes and flavor cataloging

Edit: oh and hit up a place like Walmart and grab ketchup & mustard bottles in the kitchen section (it's like $1.50 for a red & yellow one)

E juice lab is a great mixing app. Rts vapes good vendor. You can get scale or syringe from local drugstore is how I started. Just dive in be careful with the nic. It looks more complicated than it is. Find simple recipes to start.

I'd be interested in a Pindad if the only version that looks good wasn't $75 (black & ultem)

The ultem-ate version? I'm pretty much over ultem myself (looks like pee to me now instead of amber). But yeah the Pindad does cross into expensive territory. I think I only jumped in about them again because folks might cross-shop the Pindad and Gaia as both being BF RDTAs, and the experience is about as similar as driving a sports car and a Uhaul truck.

I'll take that GAIA off your hands if no one else has.

Right on, good to know I can go a bit lower as I'm having issues getting around .5 because all the wire I have is 24awg so I was having to make way to many wraps that wouldn't fit without shorting.

Gonna start back at it today with fresh eyes as well as get into some escribe action to get the therion set up.

Should be a good day all around as I have a vapemail package ready to pick up that has a vt inbox, smoant battlestar, and dovpo vv box from efun

And I go farther down the squonking hole.... HCigar VT75 INBOX. Now I just need to get some thinner wire as well as get a dual battery squonk setup for larger builds...Also just ordered a bunch of squonk attys from fasttech and a mulciber from tiberian. Anyone know what the differences are between the Hastur V2 and V2S?20170325_094123.jpg

I remember when he got his first squonker - the mighty Dripbox, lol
I remember that one too. I remember when he was asking me to compare a goon to a tugboat. Lol
Then came our recurring debates about the goon vs petri.

The f*cker never stopped talking about it, every damn time we talked so everyday he would say he was vaping it lol

I used to tease him about having to angle it to hide the fact it was a Kanger in his handchecks, lol

Hank angry? Never lol, the best times on the phone usually involved him in traffic the things that came outta his mouth made me cry sometimes lol

Haha!!
Especially when he was pulling that big ass truck into the depot.

He needed the anger mod for self defense. No matter what it was impossible to ever be mad at the guy. Even when he wanted to be mad, he couldn't help but make you laugh.

Jesus how sad
We talked for awhile about getting the orca in the colors he wanted and I have it on the order that will arrive this week. We just talked about how excited he was.
Now it's going to be a tribute build :cry::cry:
RIP Hank. Gone too soon.

Man oh man
