Are E-Cigarettes Dangerous for Pets?

I normally really like Dr. Andy Roark, but he really missed the mark on this one. E-cigs are no more dangerous than regular cigarettes or anything else with batteries. :( My dogs won't even come near my mods or juice when I've stuck it in their faces.

My understanding is the PG can be quite dangerous for *cats*... which mainly means, they shouldn't eat it. I'm not sure that vaporized PG in the air would be a big hazard... but I try to make sure and not blow it straight at my cat, just in case. :D She's surprised me once or twice and gotten a faceful, but ran away immediately. :giggle:

When I had them my cats showed complete indifference to my vaping. However one of them definitely had an opinion about smoking. Given the chance if he came across an ash tray he would take a couple sniffs at it - and promptly dump it on the floor in his attempt to "bury" it.

Dogs inclined to eat batteries? Never heard of that one happening yet.

The cats at home show no interest at all. The dog did knock over my mod last night but I do believe it is because she is now blind. Not that she wanted to eat battery's.
They lived through my smoking so I am not too worried about this.

I baby sit my daughters cat when she goes out of town so he stays at my place and the cat doesn't bother with any of my vaper gear including the juices.

When I smoked, if I attempted to pet my cat with my right hand (which was the one that normally held a cigarette), she would bite me. :D Once I switched to vaping, my right hand was as good as my left for worshipping her. :giggle:

So humans shouldn't eat the batteries or drink pure nic either? Wow, I have to reevaluate everything. Seriously though, my cats have no interest in smelling, licking or vaping any of my gear, though if left on a counter, they will knock it off like anything that is on a counter. (That means that batteries are always in a case or a mod).

The thing that I'm honestly curious about is my cats are super friendly and hang were ever the people are. That means that while I'm producing clouds at home, they often are seated in the area, should I be concerned about them breathing in the clouds? (I'm not alarmist, I just want to know if it is safe to vape around the fuzzy guy and gal?

Do you use a lot of PG? I do, 85% or more, so I try to keep it in mind. Most these days use a lot more VG though, so I doubt it's a real issue if there isn't a lot of PG in your vape.

My cats are more into clouds than flavor, so most juices are Max VG... Did I just say that?

So PG is more harmful to inhale as a 2nd vape handed cat?

Actually I bought an RTA named after Pulsevape today.

Lol, no hard feelings!

I'm really not at all sure that inhaling PG is bad for cats, but it's definitely bad for them to consume it; it causes them some type of weird anemia. AFAIK, there are no issues at all with VG. Except maybe, as with people, possible allergies? Which seems rather amusing to me; the most allergenic animal EVAH, having allergies... heh. But I guess it's possible.

I love cats BUT I developed an allergy to them. Freaking weird when I grew up with 7 cats. My cat, Jazzy, lives with my mom as I couldn't bring her here... We, um, had big dogs that wanted asian food... LOL ;)

Me as a human servant of two cat's I would say no.

They would avoid me when I was smoking.

Not so with vaping.

Not like I blow vape into their faces but they don't mind me vaping one little bit.

Just ask your cat.

My cats tend to be indifferent, one runs away like it's the fog itself containing alien creatures trying to kill him. The other two will just give me a look of pure disdain, so pretty normal for those two actually, caught the one trying to catch one of the clouds once, jumped right up into it, and then proceeded to never do that again.
Of course the wife and I vape at 0mg nicotine, so no worries on that toxic front, as for batteries, never had a cat try to eat a battery.

My clouds are very thin, since I use 85% PG, but when I'm sitting in the living room watching TV and vaping for a couple hrs, some wisps start building up in thin layers near the floor. I hadn't thought our cat noticed them... till once, she tried to pounce at them. :giggle:

So inhaling cats is dangerous?

For some of us. :D Without Zyrtec, 5 mins in a cat owner's house is too much, whether or not said cat(s) is present. It's the detergent in their saliva; they lick themselves ALL over, CONSTANTLY... and shed CONSTANTLY.

Thank god for Zyrtec!!!

I will admit that my bulldog would chew the shit out of the batteries if he ever got ahold of one, fucker is called Dr. Destructo for a reason. :giggle: But it's not really all that difficult keeping batteries out of his reach. We have six batteries for our vaping devices. We have about 300 other batteries in other devices around the house. Not sure why batteries for vaping devices has been singled out when everyone has things like remote controls and other battery-controlled devices in their house.
