Slightly damaged battery

Hi, I've recently dropped my vape causing the battery to fall out and this made a slight tear on the negative end of the battery. I have attached pictures of the damage, and am wondering if this will be safe to use or should i get a new battery?

Thanks 17976358_1670497766311600_58352134_o.jpg17976745_1670497699644940_1350332596_o.jpg

A small nick on the negative end is ok the mod case is negative so it won't short. You could put a drop of super glue on it to keep it from getting worse.

You can buy new battery wraps, vape shops usually have um. You can get them online too.

It's a shrink wrap, remove the old, install the new, heat the wrap with a hair dryer and you have a safe battery again.

Battery wraps are cheap. Why anyone who uses removable batteries wouldn't have wraps is beyond me.

It's stupid easy to rewrap batteries.

Measure the voltage of the battery, but don't use the battery yet. Just let it rest for several hours, and, next, measure the voltage again to find out if there's any damage inside the battery that you should worry... usually such as small nick means it's still safe to use... but if the condition of the shrink wrap gets worse as you continue to use the battery you may eventually short circuit the battery (worst thing that could ever happen) so as others have stated you could consider either fixing it with a very small amount of super glue or replace the shrink wrap altogether if that's what you prefer (or simply take extra care not to let it grow worse... which is what I do).

It is after you verified that by measuring. If the voltage gradually diminishes without actually using the battery, then get rid of the battery.
