hey all, first post here, please be gentle.

Started vaping a few months ago, my first purchase was a BLUE skycig with disposable refills, which was costing half as much as regular smoking. While It was great to finally get off cigarettes, it wasnt giving me the hit i craved.
So then i bought a CE4 clearomizer. I am buying my liquids and was really happy for about 2 months, but its started to wear on me a little due to either leakages with the liquid going onto the battery, or ive been having problems with wicks/coils. i keep getting the burnt taste, even with brand new coil/wicks!

So, today id had enough and ive been reading through reviews and decided to purchase a Innokin MVP iTaste v2.0.

is this a good buy? are they good kits?

also id love to save some money whereever i can. isit possible to just use organic wool rolled up as the wick for these or isit better to just pay the £2/ea for the wick every week?

Thanks for reading, happy vaping!

If you plan on sticking with clearomisers...I recommend moving up to either the Aerotank Mega, or the Nautilus. Both have MUCH improved atty heads than the CE4, and also greater juice capacity. As for wicking materials, I'd wait until you step up to rebuildables if that is the move you wish to make. Also experiment with VG to PG ratios....higher PG can make for harsher vapes. Lastly, what nicotine level are you presently using? Oh, and the iTaste is solid kit...very enduring design, and can take proper abuse.

hey, thanks for quick reply.

i ordered the MVP, ill be using that at home and maybe out and about if its alright to carry it in your pocket or whatever.

i been using 18mg nicotine. i tried a 24 but it just didnt taste nice, overpowering, wether that was down to the new flavour liquid i was trying or if it was the extra nicotine, i just stuck with the 18mg

Right on...that will most likely work for now. Once you settle into kit that is right for you....and you increase your vaping, you might want to drop to the next level down. Atomiser heads have come a LONG way lately. Enjoy!

Hi Danny. Congratulations on the quit.

You will enjoy using the MVP2. I second taking a look at different tanks. When I got my MVP it came with the Innokin Iclear 30s which I hated. I love my Nautilus minis. Great flavor. I also started at 18 g nicotine. It wasn't long before I dropped down to 12 and now use 6 when I buy, 3 when I make my own.

Good luck.

The Nautilus with Bottom Vertical Coils (BVC) is they way to go if you make the move from ce4's to a MVP. You can get either the mini version or the full size, the difference is the amount of eliquid the vaporizer holds.

Glad you found us.

You are moving in the right direction.

As far as the CE4's you have, just give them to someone you really don't like very much or at all.

IMHO, anything that starts with CE is not worth the trouble to fill it with E-Liquid.

Old bad vapetech that never seems to go away.

Sorry for the rant but I truly do despise them.

Thanks for the replies and warm welcomes. Yeah i feel so much better not smoking now, just the smell/thought of smoking again repulses me, which is odd as i used to smoke 20 a day.

As for the nautilus, is that a clearomiser that goes on the MVP's battery base?

As for the CE4, ill probably give it my sister, she spends like £54 a week on cigarettes atm and im trying to get her onto vaping. So i think they CE4 is a decent starting point, she'll learn the basics quite quickly and then wanna buy something a bit more higher end!

Just reading up on the nautilus, so without needing a wick, isit just the coil that needs replacing every few weeks?

also are they all metal tanks? can you see how much liquid you have left in them?

i think i might get the mini tank so i can change the liquid more often. With my CE4 my liquid was going from a clear yellow to a murky brown after a couple of days.

Finally, do i need 1.6ohm or 1.8ohm for these replacement coils? or isit down to what settings i use on my MVP base?

Most of the clearomizer systems have a "head" that contains the coil and wick so you can change the head out and not have to buy a whole need tank. The nautilus comes stock with a glass tank. I will say that I have 3 Nautilus tanks for the wife to use (2reg and 1 mini) None of them have the stock glass on them. I got metal tanks to replace the glass. You wont see to much of a difference between a 1.6 and 1.8 ohm head, with an MVP you can adjust the power to what tastes best to you.

Yes, just the head will need to be replaced and understand that the Head contains both the coil and the wick in one unit.

also are they all metal tanks? can you see how much liquid you have left in them?

Yes, there are all metal tanks and unless you find one that has a little "Window" built into it you will not be able to see how much liquid you have left. Some people like the metal so they don't mind, but for me I prefer to see how much liquid I have without having to take the atomizer apart.

i think i might get the mini tank so i can change the liquid more often. With my CE4 my liquid was going from a clear yellow to a murky brown after a couple of days.

Just keep in mind that as you vape more you may find a larger tank to much less of a hassle as you are not having to fill it every hour or two. Also, the CE's are notorious for causing your liquid to go brown as this is the result of getting buildup of burned juice that flakes off of the coil and mixes with your unused juice. This is something that happens to all atomizers as you use them, however, some atomizers will do it much quicker than others. Getting a burnt taste when you vape is not good and can mean that your voltage is set too high, or your head needs replacement, etc .. Regardless of the cause it's an indication that something is wrong and you should address it. Burnt taste means you are inhaling more than vapor and it's not good. Don't mean to sound alarming as it happens to us all at one point or another, just stating that burnt taste should be looked at like your body when you feel pain, its an indication that something is wrong.

Finally, do i need 1.6ohm or 1.8ohm for these replacement coils? or isit down to what settings i use on my MVP base?

In theory, the lower the resistance of a head, the less voltage required for it to operate, however, there are lots of variables to be considered. Juice Type, Voltage, etc. Maybe get one of each and experiment ... Take Oggy's advise and adjust to taste .. This is always good advice.

Amps are what fire the coil. For example, on my God Box, I have dual 14 wrap micros in 24gauge at.6oms. 75 watts almost will not fire that build, but at 120watts/8.4v it fires immediately.

I have never owned an MVP but have read alot of the reviews, and 2 people at work have them. They are a great step up from ego batteries for clearomizer type tanks. I think they top out at 12-15 watts. The MVP should work well until/if you decide to move up to rebuildable type atomizers.

The MVP2 goes up to 11 watts. When you set it up using watts voltage adjusts automatically after reading the resistance of whatever atty you have on there. So no it won't burn out your coils.

I am almost done with my everlasting statements that anything that starts with CE is crap.

Moving on now.

Liquids that are exposed to heat in a clearomzer will change color. Not a bad thing just the way it is.

When you get your MVP, just fill your topper, install it, start at the lowest setting and work your way up the scale until you find the sweet spot.

If it gets too hot for you or taste burnt, back it down a bit and make a mental note as to the setting.

No you're not going to blow coils. The MAP 2 docent go up high enough.

I hope you make the leap soon to the Nautilus. It is truly the best tank on the market.

Driving from coast to coast it's the only tank theat never leaked.
And it let's you have the best flavor of any tank.
I still use mine from time to time but I mainly dripping now. 10 times the flavor and the clouds are fun to.

Kids piss me off I just blow a cloud and poof there gone. If only for a second

hey guys. ok my MVP came today and i got the nautilus mini tank to go with it.

all seems good so far.

just trying to figure out what should i be adjusting the U-volt or P-watts? im reading that if i adjust volt, the watts automatically get adjusted anyway?

its definitly giving me an 100x better buzz than my ce4 does! im sitting here taking them in turns and the MVP blows it out the water!

im finding the smallest hole suits me more as i cant breathe in too much while its all the way open, whereas the smallest hole i can suck alot longer (oh really)

I'm vaping a rebuild-able tank atomizer (RTA) now on my MVPv2, using the Watts settings.

For wattage: hold down the "P" button.
First it shows the puff count (silly), then it shows a decimal number. That is the wattage setting and as you hold it down, it will go up.
It will round-robin too, so don't worry if you pass what you want.

The Volts mode works the same way, just using the "U" button.

Using Wattage mode, the mod adjust the voltage to match the resistance and give you the wattage you want.

Using Volts, it doesn't. It's more like a manual adjustment when you know you want 3.7V or such.

To be in about the middle range. I thinks it's u you set at 8 and p set at 4.
I had mine cranked up all the way on both but it's been a long time since I've had mine out.

im still a newbie with the whole ohms watts n volts talk. i know it says its at 1.8 ohm, so im guessing thats the coil limit. so for me, i should just adjust the P-watts to suit me?

Have you read the manual or watched any videos on the MVP? Might be helpful...

When you press both buttons at once, you'll see an "A" with a number - that is your resistance of the atomizer in Ohms
Then, it'll switch to a "U", and a number - that is the power left in the battery in Volts.

I'd start at say, 5 watts and see how that suits you. Everyone has a best for them.

Me, I'd vape a 1.8 ohm atomizer at around 8-10W, but that is me. ;-)

It depends on whether you like a warm or cool vape, the level of nicotine and the ratio of VG & PG in your juice. You'll learn all this stuff as ya go along...don't have to know everything at once. :)

awesome, thanks for all the help, seems like a great forum :)

1 final question. the mvp charges from the bottom, so isit best to take my tank off and charge it on its side with no tank on? im sure i read its best to keep the BVC tanks upright? leakage is the last thing i want, it was a nightmare with my ce4

The nautilus won't leak no matter what direction it's in.
The MVP has what's called pass through. So you can charge and vape at the same time.
Yes the 1.8 is the coil

Lay it on its side with that tank on and charge and you'll be fine.

The only time I ever took off my nautilus was to fill it up.
Laying on its side. Upside down. Inside out. That is the best tank on the market. I don't see how they can improve on perfection so I don't see something else to replace it with.

If you ever want to see what your coil is really at ohms wise press both buttons at the same time. It will tell you the true ohms.
I've had coils that said they were 1.8 and they were reading at a 2.1 or a 2.2
