What would be the best choice in terms of reliability for a dual 18650 regulated mod that goes up to 150w?

When choosing the right batteries, the question is not how high in wattage can your mod go, but how high would you actually go.

Up to 120W Samsung 30Q.
Above and up to 150W Sony VTC5A.
Cant i use the VTC5A to go the full range from 0 to 150W? Or do i specifically need the Samsung 30Q if i plan to go less than 120W? Im coming off a pen style E-cig, so all of this is kinda new to me

If you plan using the mod above 120W (and up to 150W) you would require 25A batteries and at 25A the VTC5A are the best option.
If you only plan to go up to 120W then you only need 20A batteries so in that case 30Q which have higher capacity then the VTC5A would be a better option.

RIght now i have the option to choose between VTC4 which is 30A, and VTC5 which is 20A. Would it be better to get the 30A battery so its a bit more futureproof, in case i want to vape at higher wattages, or go into rebuildables? Cause from what i understand, if i go with the 20A batteries, i can only use my mod up to 120W, right?

VTC5 is 20A and VTC4 is 23A.
30Q is also 20A but has higher capacity then the VTC5 so is a better choice.

Above 20A VTC5A has higher rating and capacity then VTC4 is is a better choice.

So again up to 120W of usage 30Q and above up to 150W VTC5A can't get any clearer then that.

So, batteries like imren, who are 3500mah/30a... why would they not be ideal? It seems they would last longer and have a high charge. Is it false, is it really 15a, is it that they are not trusted names, or is it that they don't actually do what they claim, or am I just looking at it wrong? I've been using them for a while at 60-90 watts on usually around .2ohm coils and they usually last a day. I have noticed, when bought from certain sellers, they seem to last less long.

Just curious as I need to buy more batteries and was wondering if what I see you guys suggesting would be better. Appreciated.

It's easy to guesstimate the rating of rewrapped batteries based on their capacity since rewrappers usually write the correct capacity.
3500 batteries are usually rewrapped MJ1s (10A).
3000 batteries are usually rewrapped HG2s (20A).
The thing is that rewrappers usually buy low grade batches of these batteries (since they are cheaper) so you should expect somewhat lower rating and/or capacity then the originals.

Thank you much! That's despicable.

Welp, 30q it Is! Now to find the perfect vendor, ie cheap and trustworthy. Anyone with experience with orbtronics? They seem legit and fairly priced.

Thanks again.
I haven't used orbtronics, but I have heard positive reviews on them. The vendors I have personally used are liionwholesale.com and illumn.com. @Jon@LiionWholesale regularly posts here and they test samples of every lot of batteries they receive. They are located in PA. illumn.com is handy for me as their store is close to where I work. What I save on shipping is negated by Cali sales tax however.

I'm assuming you are using them with a dual battery regulated mod.

At 60W they are running at their CDR.
At 90W they are running 50% above their CDR which most likely will not cause them to explode but will make them heat up, have shorter lifespan and preform worst then 3000mAh 20A batteries.

If you're using them in a single battery regulated mod then it's much worst.
At just 60W you are pushing them 100% above their CDR and 200% at 90W.

The resistance of the coil is irrelevant for this calculation.
