Do you think you've had more or less cold and flu events since you started vaping ?

The PG aerosol thing would tend to make one think that it would be less events.. but I feel like Ive had more (not a lot.. say 3 instead of 1 in a season ).
Its possible this is due to accidental touching of the drip tip while fishing it out of my shirt pocket .. maybe I had germ hands at some point ?

Anyhow, Im curious if anyone else has some anecdotal results ?

Same... smoked 40 years vaping last three.... haven't had flu in about 20 years. Get maybe 1 cold a year.. I does have less seasonal alergy issues.

Same too. But there is a difference: when I have a sore throat, I vape menthol and eucalyptus for relief, with good success - while when I smoked, it would get just worse.

That's big considering where I live.. worst air in the country alergy wise. Central Valley kalifornia. Got pollens from near every plant known. more farm animals than anywhere else. Nit to mention prevailing winds dumping all of San Freeksisco smug into the valley. Thw 2 busiest highways in the country trucking wise. Being a valley with an major inversion layer that Smog doesn't get blown away. Smoking is actually probably safer here than breathing.

Definitely LESS colds and flu since I fully quit cigarettes and vape full time

In the middle of an ass-kicking cold right now, but it's the first real one since February of last year

I've had a few mild, runny nose type episodes in between, where I think I may have had a cold, but was so mild, might have been allergies or something

I used to get everything that went around

I've been sick way more since I quit smoking and started vaping. It's a mystery to me, because I keep reading about everyone being sick less after switching to vaping. The only thing I can figure is that 42 years of smoking 2 packs a day (and 16 years before that of living with smoking parents) had sufficiently lacquered the insides of my lungs that no microbes could penetrate. :p Now that my lungs are clear and I can breathe again, I catch every stinkin' bug that floats by. I wouldn't change a thing, though. I'd rather be sick for a few days or a week every three months than have all that crap in my lungs and have so much trouble breathing. It's a fair trade-off for me. :)

FAR less. Quite clearly, I have better resistance.

And in a couple instances, obviously exposed repeated to colds (family sick over and over) I STARTED to get a cold, but "fought it off" over a day or so, and did not get really sick - as I'm sure I would have back in smoking days...

Far less for me as well.

Until I recently went on vacation and took a flying Petri Dish to Florida.

I had had the proper flue shot for my part of the US and caught a different strain on the flight.

Day # 4 it hit me full force.

But other than that and my allergies, not much to report.

I haven't had a flu in about 20 years which is about how long it's been since I had the flu shot....

You sure it was the flying cigar tube that got you sick?

Wife has to get them shots every year for work... she catches flu at least 1x and cold 2 - 3 per year..... while she does smoke I still blame the medically induced viruses.

Well it's not like shes going to tell you it was the shot she gave you....... If you still smoked she'd blame that and the Plane......

To be honest, I really like and respect my GP. I judge her as a straight shooter and she is pro vaping to the extent that she hands out my personal VU business cards to her smoking patients!

Also, I did read up on regional vaccines and they do vary with different zones in the US

Anyway, I don't really think she was trying to avoid blame.

She was just doing her job and explaining things while taking care of ME!

I've never been very susceptible to flu. I don't remember having it more than a couple of times in my life. Seasonal colds have always been the bane of my existence. Winter/spring and fall/winter, every year like clockwork, as long as I can remember. I think the temperature changes join forces with my allergies. But in the past 18 months since I quit smoking, I haven't had a full-on, week long sick like I got before. Just a couple of days, tops. Definitely an improvement.

I get sick twice a year; once during the winter and once during the summer. That has not changed since I started vaping but the duration and severity has definitely been less since I quite smoking.

I smoked 2 packs a day for 50 years and I got nasty lung infections several times a year for years and would catch a cold at the drop of a hat.
Been vaping over two years and haven't had a lung infection and only one cold. Made my life better.

Definately MUCH less colds and such.
In close to 2.5 years of vaping I have only had 1 cold. Earlier this year and it was a bad one but everyone was getting it.
When I smoked it was 2 colds per year and maybe a couple of sinus infections.

but I am plagued wif dry knuckles now.

Less colds, definitely, though I actually just got over a really nasty headcold. So apparently vapers CAN still catch colds, but maybe not as often; maybe our immune systems work better when we're not inhaling thousands of toxins with every puff.

I *have* had more bacterial infections, a couple of them fairly major -- especially when you consider that the first really bad one was appendicitis! then, a bacterial sinus infection that I kept thinking was a cold, but it kept not getting any better and my fever getting worse, so I had to go to the doc and get some antibiotics; that was about 6 wks of misery. Another bacterial sinus infection earlier this year, though I saw the doc much sooner so I got well much easier, then had that damn headcold.

Not sure if vaping has anything to do with the bacterial infections, though; I think they were just my bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Appendicitis is one of those freak events that no one really expects; not rare, but not the norm either.

Haven't noticed a change.
I've always rarely gotten the flu, and colds only come every few years.

But, it can also depends on your job. The more people you come into contact with on a daily basis, the more prone you will be to colds and flu. Anyboy that has recently had a change in job can possibly contribute a change in cold/flu frequency to that.

During my first 1+ years of vaping I was working an a public contact job. Retail.
Wives would come in sniffling and give me their phone and say talk to my husband about what he needs....
Even with this environment I noticed a big drop in colds and such.

I've never been sicker with a cold (thinking as above stated a need for antibiotics) been vaping since the start of the year, off stingiest just as long, just got over a cold... When I was smoking my girls would all get sick and I'd plug on as normal. I'm sitting on the fence here. I'm thinking that a lung cold or lung infection does not Benifit from constant hydration... But hey this is better than smoking damn ciggarettes right?

Yeah I choose prolonged lung infection over shortened life span? But I've always been killing myself in one way or another on a daily basis.

Is it if you use max VG?
VG is used as a skin moisturizer.
Glycerol (AKA glycerin) is indeed widely used as a humectant. But keep in mind that humectants don't have any moisture of their own, they collect and release it (as opposed to retaining it like desiccants do). They don't have any moisture of their own. Let it soak in (pun intended) for a minute.

I have had fewer colds and haven't had the flu since I quit cigarettes and started vaping! The colds I do get are over within a week or two as opposed to a month or more when I was smoking cigarettes! I have not had any bouts of bronchitis since I quit smoking either!

I seem to get the same number of colds since I switched to vaping (3-4 per year), but they are generally nowhere near as severe and don't last as long.

I vape high PG juice. And I vape through colds.
