i turn my batteries in my battery charger because it charges faster now i relize that friction on the metal might make my batteries unsafe?Am I wright that this might be a problem?

How do you know they charge faster? Not being snarky here ... but how long batts take to charge depends partly on how discharged they are and I'm wondering how you quantify that.

Also, how much difference is there in time required to charge?

Also, what charger do you have?

If you rotate your batts 45 degrees every time you put them on charge it's not an issue. If you turn them many times around each time, that's different :)

Turning batteries in the charger is perfectly fine. Mooch does it by habit, if he does it that's more than good enough for me.

Ya, so do I :)

But I suspect there is a limit to it after which wear probably overcomes the cleaning advantage.

someone just answereed my q with a very educated answr

Well the charger routes the current through it's chip, and other electronic components. A circuit made of loose change is a dead short. No resistance for the battery to push through, so it just feeds right back into the battery. Li-ion batteries can't work with a circuit like that, so they overheat and do naughty things.

i usually dont do full rotations i just turn them sside to side, quite a bit.

I do about a quarter turn of my batts when I put them into the charger, just in case there's any oxidation on the batt ends. IMO that's all that's necessary to get past that.

If you keep rotating them over and over I would expect surface wear to get into the picture eventually.

Good luck with it

I'm not a "spinner", but if I'm feeling paranoid that maybe my batts charged a lil too quickly, I'll push them down to break contact and reset the charger.

Ya know, I was happy vaping in blissful ignorance before I found VU. Now I'm a paranoid basket case. :teehee:

Well, at least you're not a basket case paranoid.

Sorry ... couldn't resist :giggle:

The battery chemistry will die long before that
