How does the Wasp compare to the Hadaly (authentic)? I'm not sure I'd like it, especially since it is not a Nupp....oh, never mind, just how do the two compare? Please let us know.

There's A LOT more air on the wasp, even closed down as much as you can. I also haven't found a build yet that doesn't have a bit of whistle unless the airflow is wide open. Build deck is a bit easier since there's no clamps, but it requires a longer coil. A lot of people love it, but I prefer the Hadaly.

Thank you! I really like the Hadaly and it has about as much air as I'd like.

Of course! I was hoping to love it, but sometimes things just don't work out that way. I agree with you on the airflow. I'd love to get my hands on a nuppin. Do you like those? I'm not sure I've ever seen you mention them. :teehee:

If you want to try something else that style, I'm really digging the Gorge. Super easy build deck, good flavor, and the air is very adjustable and quiet. BUT it's a 24mm atty, so that's something to keep in mind.

Ohhh, I may have mentioned the Nuppin once or twice. ...I really like them! The airflow is a shade less than Hadaly but still a comfortable DL (to me). I asked pdib (the person who designed and sold the Nuppin) if he might consider one small batch and his reply was "But I really don't see myself mustering up (my own gumption) to do any more. " We're stuck at the mercy of those lucky bast.. I mean lucky nice people who have several and may decide to part with one! Keep an eye on the classies!

I like how well the wasp has been working with an alien. Takes up most of the deck
IMG_0452.JPG

Edit: if there is one downside, it's that you can't see shit so it's easy to over squonk. Which in turns gets me a mouth full of juice when I tilt it while vaping. It's not spitback, it's just straight up juice. The weird thing for me is that no matter how much I over squonk, I can't get it to leak a single drop out of the air holes

Like was said, the wasp is much airier and easier to build on.

I am glad to report that despite some kind of dramatic fuckup that was covered up, the USPS did, in fact, eventually deliver my STUMPY.
It was "delivered/at mailbox" in a reasonable timeframe - last Friday, 5/12.
Except, um, it was NOT in my mailbox. Or delivered. It was fucking missing.

I managed to submit a "missing mail" claim - even though you're not supposed to be able to right away.
Got a call from local PO, who, after a few clarifications, figured out that NO it was not delivered. Not to ME.
They admitted they had a substitute on the route that day.
I told them - "hey, tell ya what - I'm ALSO missing a check that was mailed local - find EITHER ONE and you'll find both".

Wednesday, late afternoon, Stumpy was delivered - left at door, not in mailbox.
I'm pretty sure the sub put in in a neighbor's box, and it then took 5 days to get returned, re-sorted and back to me.
That or it was scanned and then just left in the truck...

Anyway - it REALLY bugged me, just on principle, and it was quite a relief to have it show up.

YOUR NEIGHBOR COULDA BEEN COOL AND JUST BROUGHT IT TO YA.....MAYBE...BUT WHADDA I KNOW.fuckin caps...sorry...plug your eyes..ha ha

Happy Sunday ladies and gents,
I find myself in a dilemma and wanted some opinions from you, the people.
Would you rather:
A connector with all silver-plated parts that is manual-adjustment only?
-or-
A connector with brass parts that is self-adjusting?

You know my answer: silver with manual adjustments

But do admit, self adjusting is so much more convenient

Whichever one does not leak.
:p

Sorry, I know that's not a or b...but it's my top priority in a 510, and I'll sacrifice both a little v-drop and self-adjustment for a seep-free connector.

See, I have mixed feelings about the adjustment bit, I only run a couple of devices and don't "swap tops" very often, so manual-adjustment is a non-issue for me.

That is pretty much my opinion and style

Basically, if I want to switch flavors or attie, I just switch mods, lol

As far as I know, the silver ones aren't having leaking issues, but it looks very very similar to a FDV V4 connector (ew) and the only devices I'm certain they are installed in are the peasant mods peon, and those owners don't have a squeak of negative feedback on them.
I don't know how much of that is ego-stroking or exclusivity, maybe they genuinely have no issues, IDK.

My other dilemma being:
How much extra voltage are you really squeaking through for 3x the cost?
I mean, if I can burn through 7ml on a 18650 and still have 3.8+ left on my battery, I'd say my circuit is doing a fine job. The vape is nothing to scoff at.

Now let's say a silver-plated connector leaves my battery at 3.9+ after 7ml.... I'm still going to swap my battery and in all honesty I'm not vape-snobbish enough to notice such a nominal difference by the end of the day....

So then, at what point does it become a swinging dick competition vs. an actual matter of efficiency?

Yep. Leak-free and reliable trump that, I think..
I'd throw a Reo SS manually adjustable 510 in a mod in a minute.

I think the swinging dick part comes in when someone acts like a dick when expressing their opinion on which is best ;)

Forget the silver-plated part of the question. I don't have much faith in "self adjusting" BF 510s.

The cool thing I love about this one is the recessed 510...
I tried something different by adding a 16mm x .5mm recess into the existing 22mm x 1mm recess, thereby making the 16mm pad of the MM510 sit flush inside:
JEtUXoF.jpg

HkdOVPm.jpg

Because the more I looked at the black washer for the 510, the more I didn't like it with the matte body and cap. I also didn't want a visible line at the atty / 510 connection, like so:
CkgHhoM.jpg

By moving the 510 flush to the bottom of the recess, it puts the deck lower and when the cap is on, no visible lines:
Zhv1nRy.jpg

It's a pretty slick look, would work with any 22mm atty and, as someone else pointed out elsewhere, having Floris mill a 2mm deep recess would still allow you to do the same thing if you used a varitube, modmaker or similar connector that uses a 1mm thickness pad.
I dig it! Something a little different anyways!

At $ 130 + shipping......I'd rather get a....oh, well, you know!

I got a killer deal on the package, so it was hard to say no and I bought it for this specific build.
DDP makes the only finish I've seen that almost exactly matches matte delrin and it had to be mine. I've planned this for months.
....Plus it's sexy AF
Doesn't leak a single drop, even on its side
It's sexy AF
It's got killer flavor
Did you see it? Pft. Sexy.
Airflow adjustment is good and it's quiet. No whistle or jet engines.
It's available, even for good prices used

So no, it's no nuppin or anything, but it's got a fine list of good points IMO....
mmmm sexy too in case I hadn't added that.

You forgot to say it's sexy too. There's no denying, it is all that. I actually looked at it and even put it in the cart, then I remembered I just sank a chunk of cash on something else. I may still get the clone, but I'm happy with the atties I have, just need a few more of the same.

OK, anyone else get a 3f Vape email today? I already have 2 SVA penguins (older dna40s) but am sorely tempted by that YTFK SVA DNA 75 clone. The chip is real I guess, and it is delrin. Bottle looks like a Silk clone that may not be silicone.
