@Teresa P let us know how you like the Zeppola version. Only reason is I have 30ml of it & don't know what to do with it. Tried it standalone it's ok but nothing to write home about.

Standalone was so-so, I couldn't really decide if it needed to age for awhile or if it really needed enhancing (or both) and like I'd said, the only recipe I've put it in was someone else's and may have just been too high of a percentage. I need to revisit that one since it's been sitting for a couple weeks and may have toned down some. I'll definitely let you know about the metaphor version though.

Oh yeah... looking through recipes and now that I got metaphor I can make this. Yee Haw!!! But I just can't do that much Caps Custard. I'm going to use some of the special custard you made me in this!! YaHoo!!

@Heartsdelight , I tried it in Teresa's original recipe, was ok but nothing to write home about.

Metaphor will be used now.....:confetti:
I forgot to update that I'd tried it with zeppola and didn't care for it either. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the taste I had in mind. I do think the original recipe would benefit from the addition of maybe .5-.75% Joy. Now to get myself to remember to experiment with that....lol!

Thanks, Teresa....I'm going to mix a batch, I'll try with and without Joy......

It's good with .5% Joy, but I think .75% would be better...But vape it up in 2 days. I have .5% Joy in mine now. Don't forget to add Joy after the steep.

Uh huh....sure you didn't.... I just got a mental picture of that.... :giggle::giggle::giggle:
Hahaha you are in my head too!! I'm going to have to re wrap my head in foil so you stop reading my thoughts. You know, I did indeed have to lick my screen. It was too tempting not too. And it was a much more pleasant experience than when I tried licking a frozen bus window due to being double dog dared. Amazingly enough my taste buds grew back from ripping my tongue free. Screens are much more user friendly!

Seriously though, you know how everyone is swooning over GOC? T, I am swooning over these frittas. Sooo sooo sooo GOOD! I'm in dire bliss!!

I mixed this last night trying to sub the Cap custard with Inawera's, since I just got the latter yesterday and needed an idea what to do with it.

Well, that and the Cinnamon. I like my Flavorah, but just can't get past the mental principle of paying that much for a bottle of complimentary flavoring. Especially when the 10ml CC from FA I bought for under $2 two years ago and still randomly use is sitting there mostly full.

I'm a big fan of Inawera custard! How did it turn out, or have you tried it yet?

It's 18th on my 30ml bottle que list (I vape down the list by date made, staying ahead enough with my mixing so everything gets tried with a nice natural steep), so I'll tell you in about a month :)

Pretty sure it was a post or 2 by you on it that got me to buy that custard too. Been years mixing with just Cap Custard and I'm ready for something different.

I made this too! Except for the Flavorah Rich Cinnamon, I couldn't get over the price of it for one recipe so I tried with Fa Cinnamon Ceylon, it has to seep. Will report back.

TBH this recipe after trying it is the first one that made me re-think my stance on that FLV Cinnamon....almost. Since it did leave me somewhat curious on just how much a less "red hot'ish" cinnamon would make a good recipe that much better.

On a somewhat separate note, the variation recipe I posted above, while really good imo, did end up being somewhat of a coil gunker btw.

The recipe @Teresa P posted originally is by far the best out of all the versions I tried with various substitutes.

Have 3-120mls aging with one half 120ml already vaped......waiting isn't one of my better traits........:)

GOOD STUFF....!!!

So I mixed the recipe as posted except for the FLV Rich Cinnamon, I subbed it for Fa Cinnamon Ceylon, it's pretty tasty!
@Teresa P i broke down & just ordered the FLV Rich Cinnamon. Do you think when it arrives I can just add a drop into my bottle with the Fa Cinnamon Ceylon or start from scratch? Thanks!

If it were me I'd add a drop to what you have especially if you only added 1 drop of FA Cinnamon. FLV Rich Cinnamon is awesome. To me it taste like cinnamon mixed with a bit of real sugar. In fact I like it so much I doubled the cinnamon in here.

http://www.grouprecipes.com/111200/crema-fritta.html

I've been playing with this for a couple weeks or so, and I think I about have it where I want it (maybe). I'll likely tweak it a little more, maybe not, because this is pretty good as is. ;)

Crema Fritta

6% Caps Vanilla Custard v1
3% FA Metaphor
2% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Vanilla Classic
Flavorah Rich Cinnamon - 1 drop per 30ml

- The custard is pretty self explanatory. Kinda hard to make "fried custard" without it. :D
- Metaphor is the bready outside crust. I've also debated on adding just a touch of FA Joy to maybe enhance the "fried" aspect of it, but Joy and I have a love/hate relationship and I really don't want to take a chance on insulting my new recipe by possibly turning it into "deep fried beer custard." ;)
- Vienna Cream just enhances the sweet and creamy part of the custard.
- Vanilla Classic....just because. :giggle:
- Rich Cinnamon....I originally made this with FA cinnamon ceylon, but it just didn't capture the "baked cinnamon" aspect of the breading like I preferred. The Rich Cinnamon did the trick, just like dusting actual cinnamon powder over something that's just come out of the deep fryer. Super strong stuff, the one drop per 30ml is plenty!

This needs to naturally age at least two weeks, preferably three, or by normal custard rules - the longer the better. And I made mine with a 60vg/40pg ratio, YMMV.
Any and all feedback welcome!
I really need to start thinking about putting a order in.:wait:

I keep thinking about what other recipe I can use FA Metaphor in.
I've got everything else.

So I'm sitting there with roughly $90 of flavoring in my cart a minute ago, while getting in on the sales early before stuff starts going out of stock.

Figured what the hell at that point and finally threw in the FLV Rich Cinnamon to make it an even $100 :)

When I make this in a couple of weeks I'm going to make one with Metaphor & one with Zeppola & do a side by side. I'm always on the lookout for good recipes that can use either one in.
And this one sounds real good.

I liked the Zeppola one more personally, but I also kinda dig Zeppola as a flavor in general. I like it in a lot of different stuff these days.

added a couple drops of INW raspberry in a small batch, also tasty, gave it a lil different zing..
Ooo...I need to try that, sounds tasty!

That's good! I like that folks are liking it well enough to "detail" it to their own specifications. The zepp version I made wasn't bad at all, I just leaned towards metaphor. Two really good flavors, FA did well with those.

I keep forgetting to add Metaphor to an order so I can make this, but I do have zepp so I'll mix up a batch with zepp. Thanks for the recipe T!
