so I got a new mod the other day, a sigelei fuchai 213 plus & i put my rdta on top. it's at 70W & the coils lit up in 2-3 seconds the the wicks burst into flames. idk what happened because I was using my atty on a joyetech evic aio mod previously at 70W with no problems at all. most likely I'm gonna just make new coils but i'm wondering if someone knows what went wrong. I also had my mask rda on at 100w with no problems as well.

wicked coils should never glow.
Perhaps you have your mod set to TC mode with non TC coils?

Like the man said, wicked coils should never glow. And wet wicks should never ignite.
I'd dump the build and try again.

Rewick and try again....
Start at 50% or less of targeted wattage....... don't see anything about material or guage.. could just be too hot a build........

Enjoy. It may take me another 2 years to get down to .2. .4 is my fav single coil.

Tighten down your leads. Sometimes when I dry fire a build I'll notice a little bit of flames near the posts. Tighten them down and voila! No more fire.

Also, a hot spot will do that too

that's definitely a possibility but I didn't even bother to check. I just made a new set of coils. not quite done yet

Those coils look close to the edge although it's difficult to see maybe the old coils touched the housing creating a short?

Strange resistence didn't jump when firing or mod not detecting it though never heard of this before especially at that wattage with wet wicked cotton in there

Did you sort hotspots out before wicking in the mounting stage? Those legs need clipping back a bit sticking out of the other side of the posts

I always strum out the hot spots I had those coils in there about 2 weeks with no problems until I moved it over to the new mod

mine came set to like 50w for .25 seconds. but that might have been because the shop i bought it from already had the box open, and had already shown someone the feature.
