Hi all.

I'm trying to upload a couple of photos from Android, but the 'file is too big for the server' anyone have any suggestions of how to get round this, preferably without having to get laptop, if I need laptop would suck as I could have used my proper camera!!!!

Thanks in advance!!

Use a photo hosting site, such as imgur, photobucket, or similar. You can then use a link supplied.

Or open the image in your phone photo editing app, then re-save -- it will save it as a jpg, with a much smaller filesize. I think this site's cutoff size is 100k.

You can also lower the camera's photo quality to something under 2MP.

Camera is bad enough on higher quality lol good old Sony, their lenses seem to be used in most phones but they can't seem to make them work in their own!!

LOL!

The only way I could get my Android phone to post pics was to lower the res to 1600×1200, 4:3 ratio, 1.92MP. Anything I tried to crop down at higher resolutions just increased the number of pixels. Admittedly, I'm not the most tech-savvy cat around though lol.

Yeah I might give that ago, but if it's all this hassle with a phone I might as well just use a real camera and laptop, at least that way I can get good photos that are the right size!!

Everytime I've tried to drag in something over 100k, it fails.

I should clarify that I only upload pics from a computer and use the "Upload a File" button instead of drag n drop.
Odds are those two differences are more than likely why we aren't getting the same result.
Since the OP was asking about "from phone" I shouldn't have replied since I have never tried form a phone.
Sorry to add confusion.
