Morning fellas!

My son is coming in for the weekend. So, hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get some fishing in. No canoe trip though. I pulled or tore something in my elbow/forearm and there is no way I could paddle. It's just not healing up. No matter how hard I try to not use it, it just can't be avoided while working. Seem to aggravate it at some point every day.

Morning guys! Dont overdo it 22, it's easy to turn a week long injury to a month long injury

Ha, I'm in my fifties. There is no such thing as a week long injury. It's been over a month already. Just progressively gotten worse. Been wearing a brace for the last week, which does seem to help.

Funny. FB reminded me it was 3 years since dislocating my knee. Still gives me grief.

Lesser of 2 evils.
Had it gone the other way, the state of the union would have been doomed.
I see hope for our country once all of the snowflakes melt.....and the temp. is rising.

Depends on who you choose to listen to.
If you get your info from the far left leaning news outlets (CNN, MSNBC....etc...) then he's painted in a never ending negative light. You know.....cuz he "demands" 2 scoops of ice cream.....2 SCOOPS....CNN reported on that for an entire week. But rest assured, he has a very large stable base that have seen the economy uptick, illeagle border crossings drop nearly 70% (because he simply said existing laws will be enforced) and hopefully that swamp level starts going down......on both sides of the aisle.

I admit that he's not perfect....far from it....but he's better than the alternative. I don't think he's in it to line his pockets like all of the rest of them, and I have a feeling that he really cares about America.

Tough, shitty job. At least half the people hate you no matter what you do.

Don't you have primaries? Not a 2 horse race.

So lesser of two evils doesn't hold up.

Enjoy your holiday

Yes...primaries...whittled down to 2.
I'll get off my soapbox. It's a moot point anyway as it's done and the system placed a POTUS.

Boring 4th for me but I'm going to unlax. We were at Lake okaboji, whole famn damily....about 25 of us. I was scheduled to come home today with my BIL, but my niece ( his daughter) was sick and the 3 of us came home last evening so it's just me and Herk today. The 2 of us are just laying around, scratching where it itches, and wandering outside to pee when we need to. Mama bears will be home tomorrow evening, so us guys are enjoying the quiet, stress free, day.

I'm gonna be off the grid for a couple days...escaping the 4th. So we don't have to drug our dog.
SatiVae hates the boom booms too. I didn't have to drug her, luckily, Though I've had to put one of my shirts on her before, it really seemed to help. I can't say I didn't consider "herbing" her this time around but I decide to play it by ear and she did okay. She was most freaked out when they started them on the 3rd. I'm just glad it's over with for the most part, of course there will probably be the occasional leftover mortar today but thats just how it goes

yeah Momma Saint and I were talking about this the other day. You should've seen us the morning after the election, depression to the Nth. It was like we were waiting for our own funerals, a pretty sad day in the Saint house. The good news is that it's comedy gold the likes of which haven't been seen since the era of Dubya, aka Bush Jr.

One more update for yall! I've been busting ass lately. Ma Saint is doing well and we're getting life back to normal, she still cant drive or go to stores, eat fast food or anything like that, but still, things are improving.

I decided to do an outdoor bed this year to grow stuff you can eat, although thats not what I plan on doing with most of it. I'm growing a little "pest repellant" garden so I have the ingredients needed to make my own Pest repellent. I got Lemon Balm, Rosemary, Cayennes and Habeneros for that. Then theres a Tomato I grew for shits and giggles, along with a few romanesco that I'm stoked to start producing those fractal heads I've been dreaming about. I'm learning the hard part is keeping the pests off the plants Im going to be using to keep the pests off of the plants Ill be using. I went out last night after the sun was starting to go down and saw slugs all over my babies! I flicked them off, cried a little, then went inside. Today I'm gonna put a healthy layer of gnat nix on there, that'll keep em off! or it'll cut em to ribbons before they get to eat my plant, then they'll decompose and feed the plant they were trying to eat... Irony, anyone?

Also, I had an interesting event happen the night I brought Ma Saint home from the Hospital. My neighbor came over as I was unloading the car and said "did the sheriff get ahold of you yet?" to which I replied "WHAT? NO! WHY? WHAT?!"
a week before that I had bought a dryer, tried tying the trunk shut with yarn before I found some wire, so I ripped most of the yarn off, then after some work I got the dryer in the trunk and got it shut... I should've cut the yarn shorter...

Someone called in as I was on the way to grand rapids and said they saw hair coming out of my trunk... It took me a minute to figure out what happened, then I said "watch this". I opened the trunk, layed the yarn hanging out and shut it on the yarn. He and I both busted up laughing at what looked 100% like human hair coming out of my trunk. Luckily they figured it made enough sense not to do a cavity search. PHEW! :wtf:

:penguin: There's my little buddy! I swear I've been smellin this guy lately though:skunk: hehe guess I'm doin something right! :teehee:

At the ER for my wife. Doesn't look too serious, but her doctor sent her for some tests.

Thanks for all the good thoughts everyone!
They couldn't find anything with the blood work, ultrasound, xray, and urinalysis, so they discharged her from the ER.
But she's still feeling the same . . ... :(

Her doctor sent her there, because the EKG results at the office and the symptoms (nausea, abdominal pain) are signs of cardiac distress. EKG at the hospital was "normal" though. If she doesn't get better, I guess we'll be off to a specialist.

doctors always panic taking my pulse

my lower end heart rate is 110, ranging up to about a bees dick off medical emergency

it is frustrating, every new dr i need to explain that is normal for me, has been for as long as i remember, then beg them to focus on the flu or whatever i am there for

Good luck, Keith.
I was at Urgent Care the other day getting my foot x-rayed. It was really ugly and swollen but nothing was broken and it's a lot better in just a few days.
But those places are such a drag. I hope you get to stay out of hospitals for a long time.

Sounds like you've been a busy lil Glowplug! I've been pretty busy here as well. Making sure Ma Saint takes her meds (~25-30 pills a day, she's going to be working her way off of some of them soon if all goes well)
,preventing her from doing anything too risky, and the like caregiver duties.

I realized I've been running myself way too hard and I'm gonna have to slow down so I don't work myself to death or into a padded cell
You cannot take care of her if you don't first take care of you. I am glad to hear that she is doing well. Prayers are still being said for her and you.

Yeah, I am running as many miles as I can get as well as local stuff when I get back in town. I am a bit tired but the money situation is getting rough. Stan is still looking for a local job driving truck. Everyone wants him due to his experience, but he has a speeding ticket that is about 2.5 years old that is keeping him unemployed. It was too many miles over the speed limit and is considered a "serious" ticket for a commercial driver. There are all sorts of mitigating circumstances but they just don't matter to insurance companies.
