I've found that chocolates need to be mixed with other things. Just like in cooking. If I'm making anything chocolate, I usually at least add vanilla, salt, and a small amount of coffee/espresso. IMO, chocolates in vaping need supporting flavors, otherwise they taste flat.

A good ganache has butter, cream, salt, and vanilla.

All my recipes using Cocoa with Wizard Lab nic used lots of other flavorings, with this same reasoning. Vienna for milkfat and vanilla, usually caramel for sweetness, a familiar flavor (like mint) to contrast and trick the taste buds a bit, and so on. It took a lot of trial and error - and supporting flavors.

When I tried Cocoa Cookies (which I like a lot with any nic) with VT nic, the chocolate flavor was so smooth, I couldn't believe it was my usual recipe. I immediately tried Cocoa standalone - very pleased with it, even naked! When I mix with it now, instead of thinking of it as baking cocoa, I consider it bittersweet chocolate. My recipes with it are simpler now. I've tried nearly all of my flavors now with VT nic, and none changed more than FA Cocoa. I always loved the smell of the flavoring, so glad it now tastes like it smells!

This is because you are in the "General Discussion" part of DIY. There is a "Recipe section" that has LOADS of recipes and adding more all the time.
This thread used to be in the Recipes section when I first commented in it. It has since been moved to General Discussion by the Mods. Thank you.. :)

After reading this thread, I'm going to wait until I get some VT nicotine to do a main chocolate recipe. I may try using a tad of TFA double chocolate (clear version) as a background flavor. Creamy fruit flavors will have to tie me over until the VT nic comes my way.
