Cheating with married batteries and new mod

Hi all,

Can I use regulated mod with option for 2 or 3 batteries in both configurations with only 3 batteries. For example I have RX 2/3 and 3 batteries which are married for this mod. I want to occasionally use the mod with only 2 batteries. One day I will vape with 1st and 2nd batteries, next day with 2nd and 3rd and so on in order to keep the number of charges on all 3 batteries equal. Is it ok?

Also Im searching for new mod. I prefer Joyetech, Wismec and eLeaf only because they work with Arctic Fox FW. I want RX200S for a long time but dont know if they fixed the 510? It is kind of old mod, is there any info for newer version of it coming soon? Is there something better, even if it is other brand or with only 2 batteries.

Thanks

It's not recommended. What you are doing isn't keeping them married.

if you want to do what you are explaining you'll need 5 batteries. a polygamy and a marriage. these two groups do not swing, either.

i have no idea if i'm actually explaining that right so i'll just say it the normal way. get 5 batteries, keep the same 3 together no matter what, same with the remaining 2.

as an example i have 4 vct4's bought same time same place. yet i have them married in pairs and never swap them around.

If you do that you will discharge 2 of the 3 cells more than one and I personally would not do it. Now I have discharged 2 of a married set of 2 to the same level separately myself before I got some single cells for a 1 cell MOD. True I used them separately but no different IMHO than discharging them together and it was only for one cycle.

Actually I would recommend purchasing 10 cells to have 2 married sets of 2 and 3 for use in your 2/3. Unless you want to use it as a 2 or 3 and then the remaining set which would require carrying more covers. Just a thought.

Best answer IMO
I would add that in effect you now have 3 batteries that you should never never use in a 2 or 3 battery mod. Good news is you now have 3 batteries for your single battery mod/s
Even better news is if you don't have any single battery mods, you can go buy some!

The whole married cell thing is over blown. Matched cells would be same age, discharge rate and capacity. You are not going to get exactly the same capacity out of these cells, they are not a high performance LiPo pack with cells that are matched within 1% of each other. The discharge rate will vary between cells, it's a crap shoot when buying these if you are going to get a 6C or 8C discharge (capacity in amps so 2.5a in the 25r's case x C rating = discharge rate) but that's what we have to deal with when using cheap Li-Ion cells.

Two cells that vary greatly in age even if the same make & model will have a larger variance in capacity and discharge rate. Like a new 25r may have 2465 mah capacity and the one you got last year may have 2124 mah capacity. The new one may be able to push 20a (discharge rate) and the old one has a hard time with 15a.

So to keep cells as matched as they started out of the mail (which isn't very matched to start with) they need to be the same age and hours of use. If you used 2 of the 3 and didn't rotate, then no, you can't do that because 2 of the 3 will not have the same mileage and resistance & capacity will not be matched. You will have 2 weak cells.

You can use 2 of 3 and just make sure you rotate them, don't let any of them sit dead or the resistance will rise causing discharge rate to fall leaving you with unmatched or... unmarried cells.

Flame on lol

Thanks for the replies. I will get 5 batteries, at least they are cheap.

yeah i didn't think about only wanting to carry 1 battery cover around.

Never had an instance where I ran through 3 cells while I was out and about but have cracked the glass the one time I only had one MOD with me so I never go out without a backup with me. That one time only had a 15 minute ride home but still no vape? OMFG

Yes and no...... no because Marie batteries must be used together and charged together to remain and be considered married..... Yes. because no mod pulls perfectly evenly from the batteries and no charger charges perfectly..and no 2 batteries are identicle... Reality is its not possible to maintain a true battery marriage beyond first rotation..... only in theory can this be done........ and some mods and chargers do maintain a better bonding than others.
